flying from San Diego to LAX on Delta then from LAX to Loreto Mexico on Alaska Air. Will they check the bags through or do I have to claim them and recheck at LAX?
are your tickets purchased on one reservation or two separate reservations?
2 separate reservations
Then you will have to claim them from Delta, and take them to Terminal 6 to re-check with Alaska.
I arrive from singapore at LAX at 345pm. My connecting flight at virgin America at terminal 3 to Dulles is at 1145pm on the same day. Can I check in early at 430pm? I.e. Check my luggage as well? Or do I need to wait? Thanks
You can check in online 24 hours before your flight. You should be able to check your bags after you arrive and clear customs without having to wait.
Will 40 minutes be enough time to connect from a United Flight from Las Vegas to a United Flight to Kona, HI?
Yes, that is enough time if the flight from Las Vegas is on-time. All you have to do in LAX is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
I fly into LAX on Sunday the 9th October with Qantas and arrive at 0630. I am then considering flying with Air Alaska at 1025 in Terminal 6 to Cabo. Will the 4 hours be enough time to get through everything on a Sunday morning?
Qantas does not arrive in Terminal 1. It arrives in the International Terminal. That would be enough time to make that connection.
Thanks Zap. How long on average does it take to get through security and travel from the internatioanl terminal to Terminal 6? Thanks
You will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, and go through US Customs, then if your bags are tagged to Cabo already you can re-check your bags at the re-check desk in the International Terminal. Otherwise you will have to take them with you to T6 to re-check and then go through security. 3 hours is the minimum time I recommend for a connection like that though it's doable in 2ish.
Thanks so much ZAP. Really helpful advise. The flights will not be connected but it sounds like aslong as the Qantas flight arrives on time at 0630 I'm all good. Thanks again.
I am looking at getting an American Airlines flight from Denver to Auckland (NZ) via LAX. There is a 1 hour layover. It's all on 1 ticket and our bags will be checked through. Is 1 hour enough time to make the connection??
That should be enough time if the flight from Denver is on-time.
Im not sure if I can make this connection or if I need to reschedule-- Can I fly in from Fiji on Fiji Air(not sure of arrival gate) at 1:30pm and make a flight to DTW at 1:50pm with no bags. Possible? Not Possible?
Absolutely, completely, and utterly impossible. You will arrive in the International Terminal, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, take your bags to the departure terminal for your second airline, then go re-check your bags, and go through security and to your departure gate. You need at LEAST 3 hours.
I am flying on a Saturday Oct 8 from CLT to LAX arriving at 10:09 on american and then taking JAl flight 61 to Japan leaving at 1:20, then arriving at LAX on sunday the 16th at 7pm flying JAL with a flight leaving to CLT on american at 10:35pm. I am not checking any bags though. Will I have enough time for the connections?
Yes, that should be plenty of time for both connections.

I will be arriving Terminal B at 12:55 from Frankfurst with LH456 and leaving Terminal 7 at 16:45 to Honolulu with UA1170 with one end-to-end ticket and checked luggages. Will my checked luggages be transferred automatically or do I need to handle them myself?
In the International Terminal you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, walk to Terminal 7 and go through security. You have plenty of time.
Hi.
If my United flight from Phoenix is arriving into LAX at 7:50pm on a Monday and I have an international flight to Australia departing at 10:30pm, will that be enough time to transfer terminals and get through customs please?
If not, how much time would you recommend please?
There is no US Customs when leaving the US. What airline are you flying to Australia? If both flights are on United all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Arriving on Delta from SLC at 1820 hours departing Air Tahiti Nui at 2345 hours. I know it's enough time, but assume we need to claim bags and recheck in TB terminal? Does the new connector connect baggage in T5 to TB ticketing area?
You will have to take the bags with you outside to get from T5 to the TBIT lobby. The connector runs only inside security.
Thanks for the quick response! What a great service you have here!
Delta says our bags are checked through to bora bora from Detroit. I'm arriving and have to take the same air Tahiti nun flight as posted. Do i have to get my bags and recheck them? Is there a way to get to international terminal without going through security again?
Wish I knew dude. We were told Delta would only check to LAX because ATN isn't a partner? Did ur luggage tags say LAX or BOB when they put them on? We're currently sitting in TBIT waiting for ticket desk to open....which is athe 2015 btw....
Your bags definitely won't be checked through to BOB - Air Tahiti (domestic) doesn't interline with anyone. At best your bags will be tagged to PPT.
