Hi,

I am planning to do a mile run (i.e. just to fly back and forth for the miles). Hence one of my options is to fly from Tokyo to LAX with SQ and return on the same flight on the same day and plane, about 2.5hrs later. I won't have any check in luggage. Is there a way to transit in LAX's international terminal back to departures, or will I have to go through immigration and check-in again, even though I will already hold my boarding pass and will have no luggage. Cheers.
You have to go through US Immigration, customs, and security.
Thanks for the quick info!
I arrive at TBIT at 6.45 and depart from Terminal 5 at 8.45. Is it quicker to walk from one terminal to the other, or is it quicker to take the shuttle?
It is much faster to walk.
Planning to travel to Taiwan in Sept from ATL to LAX to TPE, how much layover time do I need to catch international flight (EVA air) at LAX? Trying to see if I should take AA or Delta (Different reservations)
If you're traveling on two separate reservations I'd want at LEAST 3 hours, preferably a little more.
Hi we are arriving at terminal B ( auckland- LAX) at 12.35pm. We have booked 3.15pm lax-sfo with united terminal 7. Is this sufficient time and how far are the terminals by walking?
Yes, that should be just enough time. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the International Terminal to Terminal 7.
I am arriving in LAX on Alaska #2421 (gate 6 I think) and then need to depart on American #215 for GRU. Do I have to go through customs? Do I get my boarding pass at the gate? Where is the admirals club located?
You will arrive in Terminal 6 and depart from the International Terminal. If both tickets are on the same reservation then you can walk through a tunnel from T6 to T4 through T5 and then via a new walkway to the International Terminal. You should be issued both boarding passes in Medford. There is no US Customs when leaving the US. There is no Admirals Club in the International Terminal. You could use one in Terminal 4.
unfortunately my tickets are on different reservations, will that change things?
Yes, in that case if you have checked bags you will have to claim them from Alaska in Terminal 6, take them to Terminal 4 and re-check them with American, then go through security and to your departure gate in the international terminal. I'm also seeing that you have like a 12 hour layover, is that correct?
Yes, I have a 12 hour layover. I am flying business class and was hoping to spend time in one of the lounges.
I have two different reservation but both from AA, one fly from SFO to LAX and the other LAX to Sydney so can I ask them to check in all the way to Sydney and my flight at almost midnight so 2 hours is enought?
I see that there is an airside link between TBIT and terminal 6. If I had a 3 hour connection coming from BNE to LAX at 6:55AM to 9:50AM WestJet to Vancouver. Would this be workable? Thanks
You will be outside security when you clear customs (you have to go through US Immigration and Customs upon arrival at LAX). So an Airside link is meaningless. Also, Westjet uses Terminal 2, not Terminal 6.
Arriving on American Airlines, continuing on AA to Puerto Rico. Are there immigration facilities in Terminal 4 or do we have to go elsewhere?
The Auckland flight will arrive in the International Terminal, which is right next to Terminal 4.
You're right, I rechecked on aa.com. Last time I looked it said Terminal 4. Thanks.
We will fly from Oslo to Newark via SAS on 7/24. Will we go thru immigration and custom at Newark? At 3:00 pm, we will board United to LAX. Then we will fly SWA to Sacramento at 7:30 PM. Do we have enough time to do this. Do we have to go thru security again at LAX. If we only have carry on, any tunnel or walkway we can use to go from T6 to T1 without leaving security.
Yes, in Newark you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags, and go through security. You will arrive in LAX Terminal 7. You will have to go through security again in Terminal 1. You will also have to transfer your bags yourself to Southwest if you have checked bags.
Can I get from Terminal 5 to TBIT without leaving security for a connecting flight within 2 hrs?
Yes, you can. You just take the tunnel to T4 and then the walkway to the TBIT.
Thank you!
Hello we fly in from Hawaii on Hawaiian to T2 at 11:55pm and have a connecting flight at T4 American leaving at 12:55am. Can we make that flight? Only carry on's. Do we have to go through security again?
You have to go through security again. I really don't recommend trying this connection.
Thanks
