We are flying domestic Alaska into LAX. We have a 45 min layover arriving to terminal 6 going to international. It is a connecting flight. Will our checked bags make the flight? Will we make the flight?
What airline are you flying Internationally? Where are you going?
Alaska to Costa Rica
Then you don't have to go to the international terminal. You just walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 6. You have enough time if the first flight is on-time.
Hi, I will be arriving at Terminal 6 gate 69 with Air Canada having a checked luggage. Can I check in with Delta at Terminal 2 Gate 24 in less than 2 hours, please? Do I have to take a bus or can I just walk?
You can just walk, but 2 hours is just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Do I have to go through TSA or is there a connection inside security between T6 and T2? Does Delta have a luggage re-check close to the T6 baggage-claim area?
You will have to take your bags with you to T2, re-check them with Delta, and go through security. That's why it's difficult.
I arrive from domestic flight at LAX at 1432 Delta terminal 2 or 3 and need to depart Virgin international flight at 1545 in terminal 6. These are NOT connecting flights. Do I have enough time to make it?
No, that is not realistic, especially with checked bags.
First time flying to LAX (Virgin America) then to Manila, Philippines (PAL). How far away are the terminals of Virgin America to Philippine Airline? Are those baggage handler able to help and accompany me get to my next terminal?
Virgin America uses Terminal 6 and PAL uses the International Terminal. They are about a 15 minute walk. There's no guarantee there will be someone available to help you with your luggage but you can rent a luggage cart.
Thank you so much for a very quick and helpful response!
Is 40 minutes doable? Flight originates in NC, RDU, at 7:30am. Non stop to LAX with 40 minutes to catch next flight to HAwaii. Both Delta. Tighter than I would prefer but I would then be on the same flight as my daughter for the Hawaii leg so we would arrive at the same time. Would you try it. Haven't booked yet.
It is possible but it obviously leaves very little time to spare.
Hello I will be arriving at Terminal 6 (Virgin America) and need to get to Terminal 6 (Singapore Airlines); I have a 1:53 minute layover. What is the best route to get there the quickest? thanks
Singapore Airlines uses the International Terminal. If both flights are on the same reservation you can just walk through the tunnels to T4 and then the connector building to the International Terminal and to your departure gate.
Zap thank you very much for the reply and yes both flights are on the same reservation. I am sure my luggage will be going straight through so all i have to deal with will be my carryon.
Hi, i will arrive at LAX airport at 22:00 from mexico and i have my next flight with Cathay at 00:55. Two different tickets. Do i have enough time to get my luggage, go to customs and security again? Thanks!
That is just enough time if everything goes perfectly.
I plan to fly from Toronto (YYZ) to Hong Kong (HKG) via Los Angeles (LAX), and LAX stopover time is 2 hours 45 minutes.
Flight details below:
08:15-10:10 YYZ-LAX (Air Canada AC791)
12:55-18:55 +1 day LAX-HKG (Cathay Pacific CX885)
I will have 1 checked baggage. Air Canada is landed at Terminal 6. Is there a airside tunnel connection between Terminal 6 and TBIT and can I use it? Or I have to take the sidewalk to TBIT to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security again ? How long does it take from terminal 6 to TBIT? Will I have enough time to make my connection?
Thank you very much.
Yes, you can take a tunnel to T5 and T4 and then the new connector building to the TBIT all inside security. There is no US customs when leaving the US. You pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. You can do the walk in about 20-25 minutes.
