I am arriving from Minneapolis on spirit airlines which I believe is terminal 3, and leaving for Tokyo narita through terminal 4, I will have 2hours and 25 minutes, no checked bags from MSP to LAX, do I have to go through security again? I'm assuming yes. is this enough time?

Yes, you will have to go through security again. You should have enough time if your Spirit flight is on-time.

  • 35 m Layover to Maui

Hi traveling from KC to LAX to Maui. Delta has a 35 m layover. Think it's feasible?

It's possible, it obviously leaves no time to spare if the flight from KC is delayed at all.

hi..traveling from portland oregon on alaska to lax..then going to bradley for an air france flight to paris...they are separate tickets but sister ailrines so they said they would check bags thru to af flight...can I stay inside security to tb without going thru checkpoints and security again..thanks

Yes, if your bags are checked through to Paris then there now is a way to get from T6 to the TBIT inside security - you take a tunnel to T4 through T5 and then take a new connector walkway to the TBIT.

you are awesome....one more question for the pdx to lax to tb...the day before if we check into af online and print boarding pass and go thru terminals to connector...do we have to check in with air france at all? or is it best to do it anyways and check in again at desk?

You should try to check in with Air France online. If you fully check-in online and have a boarding pass there's no reason you have to go to the Air France counter at LAX.

  • Meeting family at different arrival times

I am arriving LAX from AUK via Air New Zealand. Assuming the arrival will be terminal B. My daughter with 2 toddlers, will be arriving one hour earlier from South Africa via Emirates. Where is the best place to meet ? Would it be wise to wait in customs until I arrive or would that even be in same terminal since I believe Emirates is in terminal 3?

Emirates is not in Terminal 3. The Emirates flight will also arrive in the International Terminal. I would meet at the exit of customs.

    Thanks for advice. MAM

  • TBIT to T7 transfer

How does one get from TBIT after clearing customs from a United flight from Australia to T7 to catch a connecting United flight? How long does this take? Do I have to go through security again? I have 3 hours, but am unable to carry my luggage by myself, even with a luggage cart, due to some health issues. Any ideas on how to deal with this?

Since you have mobility issues I suggest taking the shuttle bus even though it isn't fastest. It runs on the lower level. You will have to go through security again in T7. If both tickets are on United on the same reservation then you won't have to take your bags with you to T7, you can re-check them at the re-check desk in the TBIT.

  • Getting from Terminal 4 to Terminal 6

My daughter is travelling back from Honolulu to Charlotte VIA LAX. Although we have been all over the world, we have not been thru LAX. I want to be able to give her instructions for getting from Terminal 4 to Terminal 6 easily since I am not with her. I understand there is a pedestrian tunnel. I need to be able to tell her where to find it. Coming at T4 gate42B and departing T 6 gate 63. Someone told her to take the but we are concerned of going outside of security area.

    The tunnel is inside security.

Does anyone have a valid contact number for handicapped services at LAX airport. I would like assistance for my son who has cerebral palsy and is travelling to MAN on Saturday.

You have to contact the airline.

I will be flyng into LAX from PDX on Alaska at 4PM in September. Flight that night around 10pm to Auckland leaves on American Airlines. Will I need to go through security again once I'm in LAX?

If both tickets are on the same reservation you will not have to go through security as Terminals 6 and 4 are connected inside security via underground tunnels.

Hi, I am transiting through LAX intl on 23 July. My Virgin flit arrives at LAX at 6.30am. Check-in for my United flight to Mexico City closes at 7.45am. Is there any way of avoiding going through immigration/customs. If not,I am wondering whether 1hr, 15 will be sufficient to clear formalities and get to the United Terminal. thanks

Where are you flying into LAX from?

It's just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Hi. I'm flying from Las Vegas to LAX on Delta landing at 2:35pm. I have a flight to Brisbane at 11:20pm with QANTAS. These flights are booked separately. Can you please tell me if QANTAS will allow baggage to be checked early so we can leave airport for the afternoon before our night flight. Or can you please give me some ideas of what there is to do within the airport to keep 4 kids entertained (12,11,9 and 9). Thank you

The Qantas check-in desk will not be open when you arrive.

    Thank you.

I arrive in Terminal 1, SW Airlines, I have to claim bags and then recheck in at TomBrady Int'l Terminal in 3 hours. SW flight arrives 8:40 pm on a Friday night and my Fiji flight leaves at 11;30 pm do I have enough time?

That's just enough time if your Southwest flight is on-time and your bags come out relatively quickly.

  • Connection time arriving TBIT and Departing Teminal 1

I'll be arriving to LAX on Norwegian Long Haul at 5:30pm from Gatwick on 5-23-2016. I have a Southwest Airlines flight to Albuquerque Departing at 8:55pm. Do you think it's going to be tight to: de-plane, retrieve checked bag, clear customs, walk from TBIT to Terminal 1, wait in line to check a bag on SW Airlines and go through security again? Southwest closes the gate 10 minutes before departure. So that gives me just over three hours to do all this.

I think you'll have just enough time if your Norwegian flight is on-time.

  • Terminal 6 Customs Time

Hello! I'm trying to book flights on Alaska from Seattle to Costa Rica for later this year. Has anyone used customs for Alaska in the new terminal to get from a domestic to international (or vice versa) flight before? How long does it normally take? Our layover options are either VERY short (40 minutes - 70 minutes) or VERY long (9 hours overnight) and I'm trying to determine how risky the risk is. Thanks!

There is no Immigration or Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do on your way to Costa Rica is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. On the return the minimum would be 90 minutes.
