Enough time to book in LAXAug 4, 201210We are flying from San Diego to LAX arriving at terminal 4. I have allowed 3 1/2 hours from the time we touch down in LA to pick up our bags and make our way to terminal 3 for check-in and security for a flight back to Australia. My questions are: Will we have to go through security when we come into LAX from San Diego? Have I allowed enough time to collect bags and walk to terminal 3. We were going to walk to make it faster. Will we have enough time do all of this? Our flight check-in closes one hour before the flight. Thanks in advance. Cheersginnyposted on Fri, Aug 3[ Reply ][ Like ]Have you made sure that the Airline you use (American?) departing SAN does not transfer your bags to your departure gate at Terminal 3 (Virgin Australia?) If it does, you need not pick up your bags at T4's arrival. In either case, you need to exit T4 and go through security check at T3. T3 and T4 are on either side of the international terminal TBIT. You can walk, from T4 to your right, passing TBIT and on to T3. OR you can take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island (in front of each terminal), under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. and takes 5 mins.saaug12posted on Sat, Aug 4

First Timer at ImmigrationAug 3, 201221I will be flying into LAX with SIA (Singapore) whereas my friend (first time travelling outside of China) is flying into LAX on China Southern. My flight arrives about 13:00hrs whereas his flight arrives about 18:30hrs. I hope to accompany him through Immigration but not sure if I can remain inside (before security and most probably baggage not collected yet) for so long waiting for him. I like his first trip to US to be pleasant and therefore wondering how I can help him.Danielposted on Thu, Aug 21 person likes this post [ Like ]You both will arrive in LAX at the Bradley (TBIT) terminal. However, as all international arrivals need to go through passport control, pick up bags and go through customs clearance first, it would be best that you both meet up in the Arrivals Hall. Your friend will be guided by signs and should just follow the crowd, as TBIT is for all international arrivals.fraug12posted on Thu, Aug 2Thanks for your reply. If he should encounter problems at passport control and not sure how to answer (language challenges) is there anyway I can be of help to him? We work for the same company in China though I am based in Singapore as I am a SingaporeanDanielposted on Fri, Aug 3

TBIT to Terminal 1Jul 12, 201212Suggest best way of reaching with 4 luggage units and a toddler. Would prefer to avoid walking.Narayanposted on Wed, Jul 111 person likes this post [ Like ]Make sure that your first airline will transfer your bags to the connecting flight. If that is so, after going through customs clearance and re-checking in your bag where indicated, you need to exit TBIT and take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island (in front of each terminal), under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. It will make 6 stops after TBIT, (T4 though T8 and over to T1). At T1 you need to go through security check before moving on to your gate. If luggage is not being transferred by your first airline, you need to find a taxi which can take all that luggage to T1.thjul12posted on Thu, Jul 121 person likes this post [ Like ]

transferJun 25, 201211How do I get from Terminal 6 to Terminal 4. I don't walk very well.jtmoormanposted on Mon, Jun 251 person likes this post [ Like ]At LAX you have two choices to get from T6 to T4 - either way, you need to exit T6 and go through security check at T4 before proceeding to your connecting gate. (a) Walking: Terminals 6 and 5 are connected by a tunnel - at T5, you would have to take the escalator up to the ground level, exit T5 and walk over to T4, which should take you from terminal to terminal at most 20 mins. (b) By Bus: The LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island (in front of each terminal), under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', runs every 12-15 mins. but runs the other way from T6 on to T7, T8, makes a curve and continues on to T1, T2, T3, TB & T4 - seven stops or 18 mins.mojun12posted on Mon, Jun 25

Changing Terminal at LAXMay 3, 201211I have to move from Terminal B ( Tom Bradley) to Terminal 7, Should I exit first and what mean should I take. How far is it and how long does it take as an average to move from TB to T7? many thanks to whom may help meMoritzposted on Thu, May 3You have only one option to get from the Bradley Terminal to T7: Take LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island (in front of each terminal), under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Your next stops will be T4, 5, 6, 7 = four stops or 10 mins. You need to go through security check at T7 before proceeding to your gate.thapr12posted on Thu, May 31 person likes this post [ Like ]

where can i purchase a prepaid sim cardApr 26, 201211Is there anywhere in LA Airport that I can purchase a prepaid sim card. I am arriving from Australia and want to purchase one as soon as I arriveleoladyposted on Wed, Apr 25If you arrive via Qantas you will arrive at Terminal 4. International arrivals need to go through passport control, pick up luggage, then go through customs clearance. This process takes about 35-45 mins. If I remember correctly, Qantas uses its own bus transportation from T4 to the international Bradley terminal for such purpose. You may want to ask at the information counter where to purchase the prepaid card.thapr12posted on Thu, Apr 261 person likes this post [ Like ]

getting baggage and getting to tbitMar 12, 201212I am flying from Santa Barbara to LAX, and taking a flight to London. My SB to LAX flight is separate so I need to get my bag and recheck at British Airways. What is the easiest way to do this?VickiSBposted on Sun, Mar 111 person likes this post [ Like ]LAX has 9 terminals arranged in a U shape, with the Bradley Terminal (the one you depart with - in the center. Each terminal houses certain airlines - you did not state the airline you arrive at. Look at your ticket to see which gate you arrive at: T1: gates 1-14; T2 21-39; T3 30-39; T4 42-49; T5 50-69; T6 60-69; T7 70-77; T8 80-88. On arrival from SB go down to the baggage claim, pick up your bag, exit the terminal and either take the LAX's terminals are arranged in a U-shape, served by the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island (in front of each terminal), under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Curbside AssistanceJan 23, 201221My Mother is going to be relocating to Hawaii and she will be taking her two dogs and several suit cases. Would skycaps be available to assist her? Thank you.Heleneposted on Sat, Jan 71 person likes this post [ Like ]1. As to dogs - open www.ifly.com, scroll down to "Traveler Help", under Traveler Tips click on "Traveling with Pets". 2. as to baggage: Most of the Airlines charge for the first two bags (under 50 kg) and for oversize and overweight. She might want to consider shipping them via Airfreight out of LAX, which makes it cheaper. 3. Not sure but assume that Skycaps are available, as they are in large Airports.MUCposted on Sat, Jan 7Hi, I am flying into LAX, Terminal 3 and connecting to a flight in Terminal 1 and I don't have very much time between flights. Is there a "people mover" or some other quick way, without leaving the secured area, to get from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1 at LAX?JMHposted on Mon, Jan 23

Multiple traveler w/ childrenNov 21, 201111We have a group of about 20 including at least 6 children under 10 and arriving from different cities. Is there a place to gather after baggage claim to rest and wait for all of our partyjpposted on Mon, Nov 211 person likes this post [ Like ]Have not found any reference to meeting points. Your best bet would be to contact infoline@lawa.org (mention the LAX Airport, as they administer several airports). (LAX has 9 terminals, arranged in a Y-shape, with the International Terminal in the center, T4-8 on one side and T3-1 on the other. served by the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Starting from TBIT, the next stops are at T4 through T8, it then goes on to the opposite side with T1, T2, T3 and back to TBIT. Count on 3 minutes for each stop.1039posted on Mon, Nov 21

help my underage daughterNov 2, 201110my daughter arrives alone from sydney transfering to scaremento from terminal b to terminal 4 can you help and tell us if she has to go thru customs how she finds the way and is there service or someone we can arrnage to pay or someone to help assist her in the being under 18 we are concerned and she is diabetic another concern would really love to know if we could seek help in this matter asao thanks before she travels she has 4 hours and 45 minutes between planes is this enough time thankshaphelenposted on Wed, Nov 21. As an international arrival in the US, she needs to go through passport control, pick up her bag, go through customs clearance and then re-check-in her bag (she needs to check in bags at Sydney making sure that all three airport codes are on their tags). As she has a lot of time to kill, I suggest that she first includes the time she needs to get to T4 (next to TB (also referred to as TBIT) - count on a transfer time of one hour between TBIT and T4's gate (at T4 she needs to go through security check again, and up to her gate area, where she has to arrive at least 30 minutes ahead of scheduled flight. 2. As to your concern re her condition - if she is old enough to fly by herself, she will be responsible enough to take care of her scheduled in injections - trust her! 3. The Airport has VIP Volunteers which are easy to identify by their uniform and badges. Have her turn to them for help. They are well-trained to handle distressed passengers. 4. When she is ready to proceed to T4, she can take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins.1039posted on Wed, Nov 2

meeting pointSep 22, 201110My daughter and I will arrive at LAX,TBIT by diferent Asia airlines and she will arrive earlier. Would you please recomend me the meeting piont / place where we can find it easily. We never go to LAX and our english speaking is not good.Preeyaposted on Wed, Sep 211. Keep in mind that all international arrivals (US & foreign citizens) need to go through passport control, then pick up luggage and go through customs clearance. This will take about 30 minutes. If LAX is your final destination, you head for the Arrivals level to pick up your baggage - The Arrivals Level has an interactive visitor's center where you can meet your daughter. The baggage carousels indicate the airline name & flight number & arrival time. Ask you daughter for the flight number. Good luck!MUCposted on Thu, Sep 22
