On 12/28 my husband (green card holder) only speaks Spanish, will be arriving to LA at 0750 on LAN airlines. I want to give him some instruction about what to do and where to go so he won't miss his Virgin America flight to SFO that leaves at 1000 AM. Can you please advise?
He will arrive in the International Terminal, go through US Immigration, claim his bags and go through US Customs, if his bags aren't tagged through to SFO he needs to take them with him and exit the International Terminal and walk to the left. The next terminal he comes to is Terminal 3, he needs to go in and check his bags with Virgin America and then go through security.
I am flying from Las Vegas on Southwest and arriving at LAX 8:25 am and departing on Southwest for Cancun at 9:35 am will I have enough time to catch my flight?
Yes, that should be enough time. You will arrive in Terminal 1 and depart from Terminal 2 (if you are traveling soon - you will depart from the International Terminal if you depart after May). You will have to walk to Terminal 2 and go through security.
Is it possible to buy a sim-card at LAX, so that I will be able to use my phone upon landing from Denmark? Or is there free wifi in any location within the airport?
Prepaid SIM cards in the US are much harder to find than in other countries - I've never seen one sold at the airport. Whether or not your phone will just work in the US when you turn it on depends on what carrier you have in Denmark.
I have an Air Canada flight to LAX which arrives at 7pm and I need to board a Qantas flight to Melbourne at 9:30 pm. Is this enough time to check out luggage and check in again for international including customs and immigration. My travel agent assures me there is plenty of time. I have little faith in that statement.
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do if your bags are checked through to Qantas is go to the International Terminal and go through security. If your bags are not checked through to Qantas then all you have to do is claim your bags from Air Canada in Terminal 2, take them to the International Terminal, re-check them with Qantas, and go through security. There is no US Customs when leaving the US. You have enough time.
I am returning from SYD (Austrailia) and land in LAX at 7:15am, and have a connecting flight to ATL at 9am.... will this be enough time to go through customs, etc? Should I check my bag in SYD or carry it on?
What airlines are you flying? Are all tickets on the same reservation or two separate reservations?
Delta, same reservation
Then yes, that should be just enough time. Carry-ons only will obviously make things easier if you can do it.
Hi , My international flight is landing in LAX at 7:15 PM and have a southwest flight at 10:15 PM. Is the time sufficient to get to terminal 1 from international or should I be looking at a longer buffer time filght?
That's just about enough time. I Doubt you will find any later flights on Southwest so your only other option would be to spend the night.
