8-6 or 7Mar 28, 201310I will be flying in to terminal 8 and then have a 30 minute layover until my next flight. Unfortunately looking into other flights with the same route etc., my connecting flight to HNL can be in either terminal 6 or 7. In either case will I have enough time to do either of these scenarios? Do I have to go through security again from terminals 8 to 7 or 8 to 6? Also with that tight of a schedule knowing these circumstances, would it be best to carry on or check luggage? Thank youamycposted on Thu, Mar 28[ Reply ][ Like ]

Tight LayoverMar 9, 201310My husband and I are flying into LAX Terminal 4 with American at 9:25am on a Saturday, and hoping to connect to a 9:55 am flight with Alaska out of Terminal 6. We don't have checked baggage, and are both pretty healthy runners/walkers. Can we make it?jstabirdposted on Fri, Mar 8

Travelling to Sydney from New YorkMar 2, 201310Hi, I'm travelling from New York to LAX with a connecting flight to Sydney. My flight arrives at 18:20 in terminal 5 and my connecting flight leaves at 20:20 from terminal 3. Will two hours be enough to transferJFK to Sydposted on Fri, Mar 1Two hours transfer time at LAX should suffice. On arrival at T5, exit the terminal and On arrival at LAX, at T7, exit the terminal and take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Your next stops will be T6, T7, T8, around the bend to T1, T2 & T3 - six stops of 15 mins. At T3 you need to go through security check before proceeding to your departing gate.samar13posted on Sat, Mar 2

changing terminalsFeb 24, 201311Hi we will arrive on a internatiional flight.United from Australia at terminal 6 and then catch a United flight to New york from termminal 7 Do I need to go through TSA screeningpalmerston57posted on Sat, Feb 23As an international arrival at LAX, you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag where indicated.(count an 35-50 mins). On the arrivals level is an escalator down to the tunnel connecting T6 to T7, where you need to take the escalator up, proceed to the departures level and go through security check, where you find signs to Gates 70A -71B, gates 72 & 73, and gates 74A -77B.sufeb13posted on Sun, Feb 241 person likes this post [ Like ]

correction to previous inquiryFeb 11, 201310We will arrive on a domestic flight to Terminal 6 and leave on an overseas flight from Terminal 2. Do we need to go through screening again?johnzposted on Mon, Feb 11Yes, you will. Terminals 2 and 6 are not connected beyond security. You will either have to take the shuttle bus or walk to get between the terminals. I would budget at least 90 minutes for your connection (preferably more since you will be leaving on an international flight).ZAPposted on Mon, Feb 11

Bags straight throughFeb 12, 201320Hey, I'm travelling from YVR to NAN(Fiji) via LAX with Alaskan Airlines and Air Pacific (they codeshare and it's all on the one ticket) and wonder if I have to re-check my bags in at LAX even though I've cleared US customs and immigration in Vancouver. Thanksflyhighposted on Sun, Feb 10Note, however, that Alaskan Airlines uses Terminal 6, while Air Pacific uses the Bradley (TBIT or TB) Terminal. You have the option of walking or taking the bus to TBIT. If walking you need to take the escalator down at ground level to T5, take escalator up, exit T5, walk to left, past T4 and around the bend to TBIT - 10-15 mins. OR take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins, where your next stops would be T7, T8, T1, T2, T3 & TBIT - 5 stops or about 12 mins. In both instances you need to go through security check at TBIT.tufeb13posted on Tue, Feb 12

LAX layover (international to domestic)Feb 10, 201310Hi, we arrive at 9:30am at Terminal 5 on Delta airlines on a Saturday. We are looking to book a Southwest domestic flight, which I understands leaves from Terminal 1 at 11:20am. Is 1hr 50 mins enough time to clear customs, collect our luggage and check into our SW flight? Thanks in advance.gtposted on Sun, Feb 10After arrival at LAX, going through passport check, picking up bags and going through customs clearance (30-50 mins) you would need to take your bag along to T1 and check it in with Southwest first (as you make separate reservations), before going through security check and proceeding to your gate. All terminals are served by the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Your next stops after T5 would be T6, T7, T8, around the bend to T1 - another 10 mins. Your transfer time should be adequate, but hurry.sufeb13posted on Sun, Feb 10

Transfer timeFeb 7, 201310Hi, I am arriving to terminal B at 12:40 and have a connecting flight leaving terminal 7 exactly 2 hours later. Is this enough time to clear customs, recheck the bags, go thru security and get the next flight? thanksAKposted on Thu, Feb 7At LAX, you only need to go through passport check, pick up bags, go through customs clearance if you are an international arrival. Terminals 8 & 7 are connected by a short walkway outside. At T7 you need to go through security check before proceeding to your gate. Make sure your first airline transfers bags to your second one, if not, you would have to take your bags to T7 and check them in with your connecting airline first.thjan13posted on Thu, Feb 7

Luggage TransferFeb 7, 201320Hi, I'm due to Arrive in LAX with Virgin Atlantic and catch a connecting flight with Air Tahiti. Will Virgin Atlantic check my luggage through to my Air Tahiti flight? What is the process if they will / will not? Thanks for your helpcpw016posted on Thu, Feb 7Virgin Atlantic arrives in Terminal 2 and Air Tahiti Nui leaves out of Tom Bradley Int'l Terminal. Either way you need to collect your luggage in LAX and go thru passport and customs. I doubt Air Tahiti has a representative in Term 2. You can either walk to the Bradley Int'l Term (you walk outside for 10 minutes) or catch LAX Connection Bus. LAX is shaped like a horseshoe and Bradley is the closed portion at the end. Have fun!! http://patstravelreviews.com/patstravelreposted on Thu, Feb 7If you are an international arrival at LAX, you need to go through passport check, pick up your bags and go through customs clearance. As Virgin Atlantic (arriving at Terminal 2) most likely would not transfer your bags to your Air Tahiti flight, you will have to take your bag to the connecting Bradley Terminal ("TBIT"), check your bag in, go through security check and on to your gate. You can take the LAX blue bus on the isle across from T2 to TBIT, coming around every 12-15 mins and taking about 5 mins to TBITl.thjan13posted on Thu, Feb 7

terminal changeFeb 3, 201310We need to go from terminal 1 to terminal 4 at LAX. We have 1 hour 15 min to do it. Can we make it? Southwest to American airlines to Hawaii. Will we need to pick up bags in between?sguyer 62posted on Sat, Feb 2Yes, you will have to pick up your bags, take them to T4, and re-check them, then go through security again. I would try to change your Southwest flight to an earlier one as that's an awful lot to do in 1:15. Southwest does not check bags through to other airlines nor accept transfer bags from other airlines.ZAPposted on Sun, Feb 3

Min time for 2 international flightsJan 31, 201310I want to book a flight from Belize City which is due to arrive 19:10 and my flight home to Melbourne leaves at 23:30. Is this enough time to clear customs (perhaps twice?) and allow for any delays? BZE flight will be with United, Melbourne flight with QantasKimikoposted on Thu, Jan 311. Find out first if United will transfer your bags to Qantas - if not, you need to take your bags and check them in with Qantas. 2. At LAX, Qantas uses Terminals 4 and the Bradley Terminal (TBIT, or TB); United uses Terminals 6, 7 & 8. 3. International arrivals need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag where indicated. 4. All terminals are served by the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Starting from TBIT, the next stops are at Terminals T4 –T8, it then goes on to the opposite side with T1, T2, T3 and back to TBIT. Count on 3 minutes for each stop. 5. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/lax, then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text.thjan13posted on Thu, Jan 31

I hour 45 min stopNov 30, 201211Hi i was wondering if anyone could tell me if I have enough time to change flights in LA. I arrive from Sydney-LAX at 6.45am and catch a connecting flight to San Fransico at 8.30am. the flights are both through Delta and it is a connecting flight.Aceposted on Fri, Nov 301 person likes this post [ Like ]At LAX, you arrive and depart via Delta at Terminal 5. As an international arrival you need to go through passport check, pick up bag and go through customs clearance - then re-check-in your bag where indicated; then proceed to your connecting gate: on the Departures level, after TSA Screening, are gates 51 to 59 - divided into clusters of 50A -51B gates, 52A -53B gates and 54A -59 gates). The overhead screens will indicate your flight and gate numbers. You will still have time to have a bite to eat or peruse the dty-free shop in the gateway area.frnov12posted on Fri, Nov 30
