You will not have to go through security again, all the United gates at LAX are connected beyond security. If you can carry on that would be best, but you should be OK if your first flight is on time.

Your next stops will be T6, T7, T8, around the bend to T1, T2 & T3 - six stops of 15 mins. At T3 you need to go through security check before proceeding to your departing gate.

As an international arrival at LAX, you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag where indicated.(count an 35-50 mins). On the arrivals level is an escalator down to the tunnel connecting T6 to T7, where you need to take the escalator up, proceed to the departures level and go through security check, where you find signs to Gates 70A -71B, gates 72 & 73, and gates 74A -77B.

Yes, you will. Terminals 2 and 6 are not connected beyond security. You will either have to take the shuttle bus or walk to get between the terminals. I would budget at least 90 minutes for your connection (preferably more since you will be leaving on an international flight).

At LAX, you only need to go through passport check, pick up bags, go through customs clearance if you are an international arrival. Terminals 8 & 7 are connected by a short walkway outside. At T7 you need to go through security check before proceeding to your gate. Make sure your first airline transfers bags to your second one, if not, you would have to take your bags to T7 and check them in with your connecting airline first.

Virgin Atlantic arrives in Terminal 2 and Air Tahiti Nui leaves out of Tom Bradley Int'l Terminal. Either way you need to collect your luggage in LAX and go thru passport and customs. I doubt Air Tahiti has a representative in Term 2. You can either walk to the Bradley Int'l Term (you walk outside for 10 minutes) or catch LAX Connection Bus. If you are an international arrival at LAX, you need to go through passport check, pick up your bags and go through customs clearance. As Virgin Atlantic (arriving at Terminal 2) most likely would not transfer your bags to your Air Tahiti flight, you will have to take your bag to the connecting Bradley Terminal ("TBIT"), check your bag in, go through security check and on to your gate. You can take the LAX blue bus on the isle across from T2 to TBIT, coming around every 12-15 mins and taking about 5 mins to TBITl.

Yes, you will have to pick up your bags, take them to T4, and re-check them, then go through security again. I would try to change your Southwest flight to an earlier one as that's an awful lot to do in 1:15. Southwest does not check bags through to other airlines nor accept transfer bags from other airlines.
