Lydd LYX Airport Overview

Lydd Airport LYX, or 'London Ashford Airport', is located 2.2 km northeast of the town of Lydd, 22 km from Ashford, District of Shepway, in Kent, England, U.K.  It is a small and unique jewel located in the county of Kent and is for general aviation and charter flights only (open 9am-7pm).  Lyddair is the only commercial airline at present. 

It considers itself the environmentally acceptable solution to runway and airspace congestion in Southeast England and it is so picturesque that the main restaurant is often rented out for local weddings and other events. The Airport has its own 18-hole golf course with a driving range, complete with a courtesy car that can take you to the course in two minutes. Although presently only open mainly during the day, Lydd is available on a 24 hour basis for charter and/or freight flights.

To get to London, use the high speed rail link from The Ashford International Station to London's St. Pancras Station, taking a mere half hour.
