Madeira Funchal FNC Airport Overview
Madeira Airport FNC, also known as Funchal Airport, is serving the Portuese island of Madeira, which is the largest of the islands of the Autonomous Madeira Archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean.
The Airport is located 13 km from the city center of Funchal - 1,000 km southwest of Lisbon. Its long runway is extending into the ocean with the help of 180 70-meter columns – a masterpiece of engineering – affording easy landings and takeoffs.
With an estimated 2.2 million passengers in 2012, SATA International, EasyJet and TAP Portugal Airlines serve Madeira Airport with direct flights to Lisbon, Faro and Porto, while a host of national, international Airlines and charters offer direct and connecting flights to European & North African destinations, with connections around the globe.

Madeira Airport has one passenger terminal with 40 check-in counters, 16 gates, is open 24/7.
Amenities and services inside the passenger terminal:
A Tourist Information Office (tel. +351 291 524 933) on Level 0, open 9am-midnight, except Tuesday (9am-9pm), Travel Agents and Tour Operators; Handling Agents on Level 1 (Ground Force, TRIAM & Portway);
Banking services include a bank branch of Banco Santander TOTTA on level 0; BPI Automatic Area at Level 1, and ATM cash machine on Levels 0, 1 & 2.
Foreign Currency Exchange is available by Cotacambios at Level 0, open 5am-1pm. The Correios Post Office is on Level 1.
Internet access is available at Netpoint machines on Levels 1 & 2, and in various areas on all levels of the terminal.
Left Luggage is on Level 0, open 24/7;
Lost & Found is in the PSP police building, adjacent to the terminal (tel. +351 291 520 889);
A hairdresser is open 8:30am-8pm, on Level 1; luggage trolleys are in the baggage claim area & at the entrance of Level 1, Arrivals.
VIP lounges on Level 0 & Level 1; and
CIP lounges on Level 1, Arrivals, & Level 3, Departures (with a choice of A, B & C service levels – tel. +351 291 520700 or fax +351 291 520761).

Car Park 0 is for short-term parking of cars under 3.5 tons; and short-term Carpark 1 charges by 15-minute fractions. Car Parks 5, 6 & 7 are for long-term parking and offer the first 45 minutes free. Monthly discounts are available for all long-term car parks.
Payment options are either by manual payment (at the baggage claim, level 0) or by automatic payment (present your ticket at cash counters on Levels 0 & 1).

To get from Madeira Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take a taxi, or a bus:
1. The taxi stand is in front of Arrivals, Level 0. Taxis operate with a meter. Luggage is charged by piece. You can also call for a taxi at +351 291 765 760.
2. The Airport bus to Funchal departs the Airport 11 times a day, from 9:45am-9:30pm and ends at Praia Formosa.
3. Bus Lines 20, 53, 78 & 113 stop Mon-Fri at different hours at the Airport.-
