Bakersfield Meadows Field BFL Airport Overview

Bakersfield Meadows Field Airport BFL serves California's Kern County, its city of Bakersfield and some of San Joaquin Valley.
BFL Airport is located on Skyway Drive, approximately seven miles north of the Bakersfield. Highway 99 and 7th Standard Road provide the most direct access to the passenger terminal. Bakersfield airport is situated at the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley which stretches east to the Sierra Nevada Mountains and south to the Mojave Desert.

With two runways and over 300K passengers a year, BFL Airport is served by United & US Airways offering direct flights to major US cities, with connections around of the globe, and by a number of commuter airlines.

The modern and spacious passenger terminal at Meadows Field Airport
is open from 4:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. daily.   Omni-Goods is in the terminal lobby at pre-security and offers TSA-approved locks & carry-ons, rading matter, snacks, & souveniers. Blimpie (661-393-0100) is in the post-security area, offering sandwich options.
   Departing passengers: On entry, you find voice-to-text flight schedules and ticket counters; after checking in you can proceed to the main lobby, go through security check to the passenger waiting area and proceed to your gates.
   Arriving passengers will proceed to the baggage claim area, which has a gift shop, and rental car desks.

Transportation:  Taxis can be pre-arranged or called at arrival:  A-One Taxi 661-616-8292 or Blue Star Taxi 661-345-1125. 
In town, a bus serves the surrounding areas of Kern County, including the Lake Isabella area), and to Bakersfield, where passengers can transfer to other regional buses or Golden Empire Transit.
