If you need to pick up a passenger at the Airport, use the free Cell Phone Lot located to the right of the Airport entrance road in front of the Airport Raddison Hotel's parking lot and a minute's drive from the passenger terminal--stay with your car until your party has collected luggage and calls you to be picked up at the curb.

Other parking options at Memphis International Airport:  The 3-level garage for all three terminals serves short- and long-term parkers. For long-term parking you can also use the Economy lots:
1. A 3-level Parking Garage with 871 for short-term parking is inside the terminal complex, and behind it is the 7-level Parking & Rental Car Facility with 1,950 long-term spaces (stay in the left lanes when approaching the Airport and follow signs); cash & credit cards accepted.
2. The Economy parking Lots West & East are located on either side of the Parking & Rental Car facility, served by free shuttle buses to/from the terminal. Only credit cards are accepted.

Use either the short-term parking or the cell phone lot. Approaching the terminal you will see signs for the cell phone lot. This is a free waiting area, located less than a minutes drive from the Airport Terminal where motorists can safely and conveniently wait for their party until they have arrived, picked up their luggage and call you that they are ready to be picked up by you at the curb. There is no charge for the first thirty minutes in short term parking.

As an alternative to on-site parking, there are off-airport parking at Memphis airport options which may offer significant discounts. Most have shuttle vans or buses which operate from their facilities to the terminals, and feature secure facilities with security guards and cameras 24 hours.

In addition, many airport hotels offer stay, park and fly deals in which you stay at the hotel the night before your flight and then you can park your car at the hotel for free or a low daily rate. Just make sure the hotel parking lot is secure as some aren’t monitored around-the-clock like airport and commercial lots.

It’s too easy to forget where you parked or where you put the parking ticket after an extended trip. Even if you’re running late, take the time to note where you parked in your cell phone, PDA or on the parking ticket if you take it with you. Just make sure you don’t lose the parking ticket, because most airports charge a hefty fee for missing tickets. For that reason, it may be safer to leave the ticket in your car.
