MCE Airport Overview
Merced Regional Airport / Macready Field MCE, (renamed in early 2009 from 'Merced Municipal Airport') is located in Central California in the City of Merced, can easily be reached by Hwy 99. The a small airport encompasses 538 acres, serving Merced and surrounding areas as non-hub commercial airport, as well as a general aviation airport. The Airport is also designated as an Air Service Development Zone by the Dept. of Transportation. MCE Airport is served by Great Lakes Airline (1-800-554-5111), which currently offers three daily flights to Ontario International Airport and connects to 30 other US and Mexican cities.
Merced Regional Airport offers a short commute, free parking in front of the terminal, easy check-in, no long lines and a professional TSA baggage inspection services. The passenger waiting area is close to the ground transportation and has a vending machine. Drop-off and pick-up at the terminal entrance is allowed, as long as drivers stay with their vehicle and drive off immediately after passenger drop-off/pick-up.
To get from the Airport to your destination, you can rent a car from Avis, take a taxi (City Express 209-723-000 or Merced Taxi Cab (209-722-8294), use the Merced County Transit bus (209-384-3111) or the YARTS bus (877-98-YARTS). Amtrak provides daily stops in Merced with connections along the San Joachin line (209-722-6862).
