Hello, I am a non us citizen. I'm travelling from PUJ (Punta cana) to MCO (Orlando) by MIA. I have a 2 hjours and 30 minutes layover in MIA. Is it enough? I have to go through customs, pick up my baggage, etc??

Yes, in Miami you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

Hi, I am a non-US citizen considering a flight from CLT to STT with 1 hour layover in MCO and MIA and all via AA. Is 1 hour layover in MCO enough - with or without checked bags?

Yes, that should be enough time.

I am a non-US citizen looking for a flight from CLT to STT with 43 minute layover in MIA. Is there enough time - with or without checked bags?

That is enough time, but leaves very little time to spare in case your flight into Miami is delayed.

HI, I booked a flight from London to Miami and then connecting flight to Orlando. All flights are with American Airlines and under same reservation. The layover at Miami is 3 hours and 20 minutes. Do I need to claim and recheck my baggage at Miami and go through security? If so, is 3 hours enough to do so? I arrive in the evening at 8.30 p.m. thanks, Lis

Yes, in Miami, you will arrive, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.

Even if the flights are with American Airlines and under the same booking do you have to get your suitcase at Miami. I thought it could go all the way through.

  • NYC to La Paz via Miami

I'll be arriving from NYC, connecting in MIA to La Paz. All with American Airlines, only hang luggage. Have the following options for connecting time in MIA: 52 min, 1h34min, 2h12min, 3h20min. Which is the shortest, which is still safe to take? Thanks!

All you have to do in Miami is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. So the 52 minute is doable, but I would personally book the 1 hr 34 minute.

I'll be arriving at MIA from Bogotá, Colombia on a LAN flight, but I have a connection AA flight to catch to Chicago. I know that I have to clear immigration and customs and then re-check bags and clear security again. Is 2 hours and 20 minutes enough time?

If tickets were purchased together on one reservation then yes, that should be enough time.

Hi I'm flying from London to San Pedro Sula via Miami, will I need to collect my baggage in Miami, and will 2.10 be enough time to make the connection?

If both tickets are on American and were purchased together you should not have to claim your baggage in Miami but you will still have to go through US Immigration. You should have enough time.

Hi, I'm a non US citizen looking at a flight from Puerto Rico transit in MIA then on to Cancun. All with AA. It gives me 45 minutes transit time between connections. This seems ridiculously short. Will I make it?

It's possible All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate and all AA gates at MIA are connected inside security.

We are landing in terminal J from Argentina and have a tight connection at gate 6 terminal D. is it possible to get to D from J by cutting through the parking lot vs. walking all the way around the U shaped terminal? Thanks!

Yes, but it won't save you much time.

  • Enough time: dCA to MIA to Curacao

Flying Washington DC to Curacao changing planes in Miami do I need to go through customs or TSA in Miami? Is one hour enough?

No, you do not go through US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • Panama City - Miami (1.5 hrs) - Chicago

Hi all, I'm planning on booking a flight with AA from Panama City to Chicago. There is a 1.5 hr stopover in Miami, I'm not sure if I'll have to go through security / or take off my bag and put it on again etc, could anyone let me know the procedure and if this is enough time? (I'm a UK citizen if that makes a difference).

Yes, you will arrive in Miami, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. 1.5 hours is barely enough time assuming everything goes smoothly.

  • AA domestic to Lan-best route?

We travel tomorrow from Vegas to MIA on AA landing in D, then fly Lan to EZE. What is the fastest way to get from D gates to J? And we will need to get Lan tix at a counter. We're TSA pre but I don't know if Lan has that info for when they give us our tix-advice on navigating the airport appreciated! we have abt 2 hours.

That will be tough if your first flight is late at all. You basically have to walk from D to J and you will probably have to bring your bags with you because it sounds like you have two separate tickets.

thanks for the quick response! So do we land in D, and take moving walkways to H where we tickt for Lan? We only have carry on and are flying in biz on LAN if that might help...

What are the arrival / departure concourse for American A and Eagle coming from Colombia With connection flight to Chicago?

Both flights will likely be on Concourse D - however, in between you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, and go through security.

  • From Trinidad to Seattle

Hi, Good day I will be flying from Port-of-Spain to Seattle, however I have two stops first stop is at miami with layover 1hour and 36 mins and then to Los Angeles with lay over of 1hour and 17 mins. Will 1 hour and 36 mins be enough to connect to the miami flight. All my flights are with American Airlines, do they transfer our luggage? or do we have to get our luggages after immigration check ? I am really worried since i cant cancel or change my flight options. Thank you.

In Miami you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate 1 hr 36 minutes should be barely enough time. If your flight from POS is late they can rebook you to Seattle either on the nonstop flight in the Evening or through a different hub, such as Chicago or Dallas.
