I was wrong, actually my return flight is to Zurich and not Frankfurt. Araival from MBJ is on 5.12pm, departure to ZRH on 7.50pm, I am afraid time is not enough. Other option is MBJ to FLL, arrival on 2.35pm. I think this is safer. Can I reach MIA and make all necessary operations before 7.50pm?

Yes, the FLL arrival at 2:35 would be much safer.

Hi, arriving from MBJ with AA and leaving to Europe with Swissair. Do I have to recheck my bags in MIA or is it possible to register my bags to Europe directly in MBJ?

Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at Lufthansa (Swiss doesn't fly from Miami to Frankfurt) and then go through security.

I have LGA flight at 7 am arriving MIA at 10:15am. Next flight is MIA to GUA at 11:15 am. I have only carry ons. Do I have enough time? Or do I have to go through any customs? I am TSA precheck.

There is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Miami is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

WHEN RETURNING HOME FROM CURACAO AND GOING THROUGH MIAMI CUSTOMS, WILL I HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO CATCH MY NEXT FLIGHT TO RDU WITH A 1 HOUR AND 45 MINUTE LAYOVER OR WILL I MISS MY CONNECTING FLIGHT? I HAVE CARRY ON LUGGAGE ONLY.

That should be enough time if everything goes smoothly with carry-ons only.

Hi, i have a flight from DOH - MIA - SCL. I arrive to Miami (Qatar Airways) at 16:05 PM and depart to Santiago at 19:50 pm (LATAM). Do I have enough time to claim my luggage and re-check them in?

Yes, that should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Good day, i've booked two separate flights, same airline (AA): SJU to MIA and then MIA to CUN. 2 hrs and 15 min difference between planned arrival and departure in MIA. Once I arrive in MIA will I need to go through security and customs to board MIA CUN flight?

Call AA and have the two flights added to the same reservation. There is no US Customs on flights from Puerto Rico and there is no US Customs when leaving the US. So if you don't have checked bags all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If you do have checked bags and can't get them checked through, then all you have to do is claim them, re-check them, and go through security.

I will be arriving at Miami from Nicaragua at 6:50 pm and have a connecting flight to D.C. at 8:30 pm. Is this enough time to get through customs and security with checked baggage?

That is barely enough time if both flights are on AA and everything goes perfectly.

Hello, my flight from DEN will arrive at MIA at 5:46am. The next flight will leave to HAV at 7:15am. Both flights are operated by AA. I travel with a non-US passport and with no check-in luggage. Do I have enoght time to make the connection?

Yes, you have enough time. All you have to do in Miami is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

    Thank you, ZAP!

I am arriving in Miami from Honduras at 6PM on AA and hope to connect to Indianapolis leaving at 7:45PM. Do I have enough time to clear immigration and customs? Thank you!

Without checked bags you might have a chance. With checked bags that would be really difficult.

My flight from Spain with Iberia/American Airlines arrives to Miami at 4:05pm and my next flight to Cancun with Iberia/American Airlines leaves at 6:30pm. I don't know which terminals but will I need to go trough security and customs? Is 2 hours and 30 minutes enough to do this? I'm not checking any luggage. Thanks for your help.

Everything will be in the North Terminal. You will go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security. You have enough time.

Thanks!!!! As you say security, does that imply that I have to leave airside and then come back again? Or can I just follow directions to my next flight gate without leaving airside?

Yes, you will have to leave Airside. You will be "landside" once you clear US Customs.

I will be traveling on AA from ATL to MIA and arriving on Terminal D(Gate 60J) and Departing to DOH from Terminal E (Gate E10) on QR. I have about 2hrs 15 min layover, is that enough time and will I have to go through security again??? My checked luggage will be checked in all the way to my final destination from ATL so all I will have with me would be a carry on and personal item. Thanks in advance!!!

Yes, that is enough time. You will not have to go through security again (D and E are connected by a walkway inside security).

Hi ZAP, I have a connection flight at Miami airport. Arriving from San Francisco at 5pm with American Airlines and leaving to Madrid, Spain, at 10pm with Air Europa. I just have hand luggage. Do you know from which terminal to which terminal will I have to go to; if I will have enough time and if I have to go through security and customs? Thanks a lot.

You will arrive in the North Termina, Concourse D or E and depart from the South Terminal, Concourse F. You will have to go through security in Concourse F but there is no US Customs when leaving the US. You have plenty of time.

Yes, you do. E is only connected to D inside security.

    Thanks, ZAP.

My bahamas air flight arrives at 6.25pm at MIA and my next flight to CDG leaves at 8.40pm on Air France. I have to take my luggage and to re check them. We have two separate travel tickets...not possible to ckeck for the hole trip. Is the time enough ? Thanks

That should be enough time if the flight from Nassau is on-time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Nassau so all you have to do is claim your bags from Bahamasair and re-check them with Air France and go through security.

Thanks. But I am not sure I can pre claim as I am not an American citizen, but french.
