My AA flight from BOS arrives to Terminal N, gate D10, but my flight to MGA leaves from Terminal CE gate E7. Will I need to clear security going from terminal N to terminal CE? I suspect the answer is yes but am hoping someone can confirm. Thank you!!!
There is a walkway inside security between D and E. You do not have to go through security.
Hi I am traveling from Atlanta to go to Trinidad but I have to layover in Miami for about 2 hours what is the procedure to go on the flight when I reach Miami
If both flights are on American all you have to do in Miami on your way to Trinidad is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.
Yes they are both American airlines Will my luagge be in Trinidad already or in Miami
Your luggage will fly on the same flights as you, you won't have to claim it in Miami.
I am flying with American Airlines from San Juan to Sydney via Miami to LA. The connection from landing in Miami from Sam Juan to the flight to LAX is only 1 hour. The travel agency has said that AA have stated it is a "guaranteed connection time" (whatever that really means) and that it is possible to do. Is this realistic? Also will our bags be checked in from San Juan straight through to Sydney or will they need to be collected in Miami?
Am i right to assume we don't have to go through US customs in Miami?
Thanks
Yes, that is possible, flights from Puerto Rico to the mainland are considered domestic flights. All you have to do in Miami is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You won't see your bags until you get to Sydney.
That sounds great, thanks for your advice, much appreciated.
I am thinking of getting a flight from St Thomas US Virgin Isles to Bermuda all on AA. Can I clear American customs and Immigration in St Thomas or do I have to go through them in Miami? Also will my bags be put through directly on to my Bermuda flight? Is 45 minutes enough time for the connection ? The next flight is a 6 hour wait over which would be great to avoid if possible.
St. Thomas is considered part of the US and there is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Miami is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time if the flight from St. Thomas is on-time.
Many thanks Zap I have booked for the earlier flight so just hope the St Thomas one is on time- or early!! Many thanks your advice was most helpful . Roz
Sorry if this is a repeat because I tried to post before but not sure it worked... I have an American Airlines flight to MIA from San Jose (Costa Rica) arriving at 5.10pm on 26 Jan and then have a Qatar flight that night at 7.40pm to Doha. Will there be enough time for this layover? Is there anything I must do to speed up the process? Thanks!
Yes, that should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Hi. Will be flying from Milan to Cancun with AA. Have a 2.20 h layover in MIA. Have two kids (4 and 5) travelling with me. Will it be enough time? Will I have to recollect my bags? Is there any dedicated customs lane for families?
There is no customs lane for families. You will have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security but won't have to claim and re-check your bags. You should have enough time.
Will I have enough time with a 2 hr layover in Miami .....Flying to Aruba ?
Yes, that is plenty of time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Miami is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Hello, i'm flying from aruba to SJO (Costa Rica) with layover in Miami (5hours) should i get my lugage and inspeccion or just go straight to my gate? When i'm flying back I have 1:50hours is that enough ti make it. Flying all the way with AA, thanks in advance
Hello, flying with from London to MIA and connecting to Barbados with 2 hrs layover. Both flights operated by AA on one ticket, do I have to pick up bags and clear customs in MIA?
You will have to go through US Immigration, customs, and security, but you will not have to claim and re-check your bags. You should have just enough time.
Funny, like the previous person, my return flight from Quito through MIA to Boston was changed. I now have exactly a two hour layover in MIA. I have read so much about how awful MIA is to get through customs. Is two hours enough to get through customs with only carry on luggage and both flights are through AA? Right at noon time?
With only carry-ons that should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I am arriving from Quito, Ecuador at 12:00 and the airline just changed my flight out to Minneapolis/St. Paul to 1:45. Is that enough time to get through customs? Both flights are on American Airlines.
That's barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.
