Hello, My family is traveling back from Grand Cayman on Thanksgiving Day. We connect in MIA on our way to ORD. This was booked through American Airlines. Our layover is 2 hours AND 3 MINTUES. Should I worry?
Yes, that should be enough time if the flight from Grand Cayman is on-time. Thanksgiving itself is not a busy travel day.
I am arriving on a flight from LIMA at 15:43 (Satruday). Would I be likely to have enough time to connect to a United or American flight that leaves at 17:50 for Portland, Oregon or should I book for the following morning. Can I spend the night at MIA if I have an early morning flight...i.e., 5 am?
On two separate reservations a 17:50 flight wouldn't be possible. Yes, you can sleep outside security in Miami but you'd be there almost 12 hours.
Must I go through US immigration if I have an international flight with the same airline (American - American, Bermuda - Turks)? If I use two partner airlines (American - British, Turks - London)? Or can I go just to the gate (going out from the plane and go just to the gate without passing immigration)?
So let me get this straight, you are flying from Bermuda to Miami to London? If so you will go through US Immigration and Customs in Bermuda, so your arrival into Miami will be like a domestic flight.
and if I fly from providenciales via Miami to London? American and british
Then in that case you will have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security in Miami.
I am flying London Heathrow to Miami then onto Lima. Both flights are British Airways and I will have carry on luggage only. My layover is 2 hours 10 mind. Is this emough time.
Please can you advise if I am travelling with two different carriers and I land in Miami at 1601 and depart for Manchester at 1835, is this enough time to collect my bags, recheckin and do customs and immigration?
Where are you flying into Miami from? What airlines are you flying? I can't answer your question without that information.
Hi I will arrive MIA at 15.00 from europe and i have a connecting flight to Panama at 18.10 Do i have enough time to go true customs control and check in again ? I will fly with Copa Airlines from MIA.
What airline are you flying from Europe? That is likely barely enough time.
I will Arrive with SAS sk955 from Oslo. Some year's ago i did lost my flight in Miami because the immigration was very slow. I have never had problem in New York. So maybe it is better i continue the next day or find another airline company who have flights later.
Yes, it will be difficult. If you have the time I would spend the night in Miami or see if there's a later flight if you've already booked the SAS flight.
We're flying AA into MIA from GCM on a Sunday afternoon, and trying to decide between two options to get home to SFO. One, which we prefer if doable, is to take a uber/shuttle/taxi to FLL and then fly JetBlue. Connection time would be 4 hours. Can we make it, given that we're talking Sunday and thus no rush-hour traffic on I-95? The second option would be a UA flight from MIA with a connection time of about 2:50. Is that enough time to get through immigration/baggage claim/customs, get over to the UA terminal, and get back through security? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, my son is travelling from Trinidad on Caribbean airlines to Miami then he will connecting on American airlines to Boston. He has a 4 hour layover...1) Is that enough time to clear immigration, customs and security...he only has hand luggage and to check in at American Airlines & 2) how easy is it to find the american Airlines check in counter
That should be enough time. He can check in online for his American flight before he even leaves Trinidad. So all he has to do in Miami is go through US Immigration and Customs, walk to the north terminal complex, and go through security.
Thanks for your reply. Are you sure he can check in online for the AA connection because I googled it on American Airlines and it said you can only check in by web or mobile if it is a AA first flight . Has that changed?
It sounds like he has two separate reservations. Is that so? If so then as far as AA is concerned, the flight from Miami IS his first flight.
We'll its 2 different airlines, so I guess it's different reservations...I went through a travel agent. So he goes to an AA check in counter after he clears immigration and customs, right ?
Yes, the AA check in counter will be outside concourse D, which is very close to where he will arrive in Concourse F.
If I arrive at Miami from Lima 6:25AM then my flight to Tokyo leaves at 9:25AM would that be enough time to go through customs, security, and recheck my bags. All flights are through AA and I am a US citizen
Yes, that should be enough time. Note that there are no nonstops from Miami to Tokyo so that means you're stopping somewhere else first.
