We fly BA to Miami then AA to Grand Cayman, all arranged by BA. They have allowed us 3 hours on the way out but only 2 hours on the return. Is this enough time? Also do we have to collect luggage at Miami? Thanks
On the way there, that is sufficient. On the way back it's more difficult. Yes, you will likely have to claim your bags to take them through US Customs both ways.
Hi I'm flying from LAX to CDG via MIA. I only have a 1 hr connection. Will that be enough?
Yes, if both flights are on American that is enough time.
I will depart MIA at 3:30 PM on AA but my cruise arrives very early so I have a 5 hour wait and I would like to use the VIP Lounge in Terminal J. Do I have to go thru security at Term D and then walk to Term J or will they let me go through security at Term J with an AA ticket? How long a walk is it between J and D? I want to avoid the skytrain since it is not airside.
There's no guarantee you will be allowed through security in J and J and D are not connected inside security.
Hello there, so I'm flying with LATAM from UIO - MIA arriving at 13.30 ,do have one checked luggage, then flying with TUIFLY to Brussels departing at 16.05 would have to clear customs and re check my luggage. Would it be enough time?
That's just enough time if everything goes perfectly.
I have a flight from STL to MIA and then a 1 hour 51 min layover to a flight to Madrid. They are different airlines. Will I have enough time for (1) gate change (2) luggage transfer and (3) customs?
What airlines are you flying? There is no US customs when leaving the US.
Hello,
I am flying American Airlines from London Heathrow to Miami and then on to Montego Bay, Jamaica. I have just under two hours to make my connecting flight, have the airline given me enough time?
Thanks in advance.
Yes, that should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Hello.
I am looking at a flight all with British Airway to go from Orlando International to Miami with a 2 hour gap, and the to fly to London Heathrow. Would this be enough time?
Note that at least the first flights will be operated by American. All you have to do in Miami is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.
I'm flying to the UK from Dominican republic via Miami. My flight is business class. Do I have to collect my baggage and recheck it in? I have wheel chair assistance will they help me?
You have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and SEcurity. However, if both flights are on American you don't have to claim and re-check your bags since it's an International to International connection.
It's American Airline from DR then British Airways from Miami (partnership flight) Will i still have to claim and recheck - thanks
You'll have to ask the airline when you check your bags in DR.
i have a flight from monteago bay to miami then to charlotte, do i have to get my bag to go through customs then recheck it after immigration ? thanks!
Yes, you have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate.
that's still applicable even with American Airlines ?
also, im flying into gate d36, where would i claim my luggage before going through customs
You will go straight to immigration upon arrival. After you clear Immigration the international baggage claim will be right after.
I am flying AA from DC to Miami and then have an hour layover in Miami before I carry on to Panama City. I am worried about having to clear customs in that time. Will I go through customs in Miami and will it be enough time? or do I just go through customs once in Panama. Thanks
There is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Miami is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
