  • Is 1 hour 45 minutes early enough to check in for international flight
    Jul 24, 2014
I am flying into MIA from California, and continuing the next morning to Venezuela via Panama with Copa Airlines. I am looking for a hotel with an airport shuttle, and have found one, but it wouldn't get me to the airport until 6:20 a.m., and the flight leaves at 8:05. Would that be ok? I can fly all carry on if necessary.

The Copa bag cutoff for international flights is 60 minutes, so as long as you're at the head of the line by 7:05 you'll be fine.

  • Canada to Brazil via Toronto

I am flying from Toronto to Miami then Recife- Brazil my final destination . Do i need to do the immigration process in US?

You will pre-clear US Immigration in Toronto. Then your arrival in Miami will be like a regular US Domestic flight.

  • AA arrival --> BAHAMAS AIR Departure

We have 400pm arrival from GSO next week and need to catch 440 BAH-AIR flight to nassau. No checked bags. Are the terminals close?

You will arrive into North terminal concourse D and depart from South Terminal concourse G. It's kind of a far walk. I hope you have 90 minutes to 2 hours.

  • Worst airport
    Aug 13, 2012
This is the worst airport I have ever been. I got lost the minute I arrived at the gate. There was no sign directing me to the rental car center. I asked two people who appeared to work there and I was still confused which way to the train or the pink elevator. There was no sign on the train to tell which station one was at. It was a giant puzzle just to exit the rental car center. I went around twice to drive out. The worst part was returning the rental car. The confusing part started from the freeway off ramp to the airport. I had to drive around several loops and finally had to make a U-turn to get to the rental car center. That was the direction. I was lost going to the first level of the multi-story garage at 4:30 A.M. It was very easy to mis-read the confusing sign and drive into the fire lane on the right. I missed it the first time and ended at the second level. There was not a way to get down to the first level. I had to exit the garage and onto the freeway for several miles, then re-entered the freeway to the airport and following the same RCC direction, U-Turn, etc. I had a full tank of gas but I used lots of gas driving around. Once again I had to take the train back to the terminal, then walked almost a mile to the American Airline Terminal. There were eight electronic walkways but three of them were not working at 5 A.M. My feet were hurting from the walk. I would pay any money to take an electric cart insode the terminal..

Actually MIA is one of the finest Airports - and improving by the day. If you had opened you would have noticed that the rental car facility is not on-Airport grounds: "The 4-level consolidated Rental Car Center ('RCC') is one mile east of MIA Airport on 3900 NW 5th Street.....served by the MIA mover train...".
