Terminal layout and Terminal details for Malpensa 1 & 2 (T1 & T2), Services & Amenities, Important Contact Number, & Transfer to Linate Airport:

The passenger terminal complex at Milan Malpensa Airport consists of two terminals: 'Malpensa 1' & 'Malpensa  2' (here referred to as T1 & T2)
While T1 offers domestic, international & intercontinental flights and charters - T2 is mostly used for low-cost airlines.  T1 & T2 are divided by a runway - connected by a free shuttle bus running  every 20 minutes and taking about 15 minutes.
Shoppers note: Terminal 1 offers the most exclusive brands of Milan's shopping streets - without paying the taxes!

T1 (Malpensa 1) is a huge Main Terminal with four levels & three Concourses (each concourse serving specific flights).  T1 also houses the Sheraton Hotel and has subtarreanan access to some remote gates (both the Ground level & Level 1 house specific A & B boarding gates).
Major overhaul of Malpensa's Terminal 1 was completed in April 2015 - now covering an area of 350,000 sq.metes, with  90 boarding gates, up to 270 check-in counters, & 41 loading bridges. Two Airbus A380 can be handled simultaneously, and passengers board through 3 loading bridges (1on upper, 2 on main decks).  The new security controls moved to the check-in level with 21 stations.
The Arrivals Hall also offers access to the Airport from the railway station.
    Level 0 / Ground level is the Arrivals level  and houses baggage claim & customs; as well as SEA Club Lounges*. NEW: At non-Schengen Arrivals are 15 new Passport Controls - 3 of which are e-Gates (automated border conrol). The overhauled baggage claim area has 5 new baggage belts (one is 150 meters long - used for A380 passengers).  Extended Arrivals Hall B is now brighter and offers a blass balcony for passenger pickup.
    Level 1 is the transportation level & houses rental car counters & train station;
    Level 2 is the Departure level and houses check-in counters, some ticketing desks, passport control desks, and access presently to departure gates at 26 'fingers': NEW: Security check at the check-in level now handles all passengers (Schengen & non-Schengen) enabling them to head down to the boarding area by a glass staircase which leads to the new duty-free area and their boarding gate.  24 passport controls are now in the boarding area.
       Concourse 1A handles Schengen flights;
       Concourse 1B handles Schengen & extra-Schengen flights,  with gates B26-B57,
       Concourse 1C - the newest one - handles all non-Schengen flights and houses VIP lounges. Upon completion of ongoing construction, T1 can accommodate up to 30 million passengers a year, include 90 boarding gates, 41 loading bridges, 270 check-in counters, 41 loading bridges, and will be able to accommodate two Airbus A380 simultaneously (boarding passengers through three loading bridges - one on upper deck, two on main deck).
