Main Terminal / Concourses at Milan Malpensa MXP Airport
Milan Malpensa Airport has two passenger terminals - T1 & T2 - also referred to as 'Malpensa 1' and 'Malpensa 2'. While Malpensa 1 is considered an intercontinental terminal offering domestic, international & intercontinental flights and charters - Malpensa 2 is mostly used for low-cost airlines. As the terminals are at different locations and divided by a runway, a free frequent shuttle bus connects T1 & T2 every 20 minutes, taking about 15 minutes.
Terminal 1 (Milan Malpensa 1) is the Main Terminal. T1 also houses the Sheraton Hotel, has subtarreanan access to some remote gates, and is divided into three satellites /Concourses:
Concourse 1A handles Schengen flights;
Concourse 1B handles Schengen & extra-Schengen flights, and
Concourse 1C - the newest one - handles all non-Schengen flights and houses VIP lounges . 1C will continue construction until 2015, by which time Terminal 1 can accommodate up to 30 million passengers a year and will have 41 loading bridges, upon 1C completion.
Level 0 houses the Arrivals facilities,
Level 1 houses rental car counters & train station;
Level 2 houses a total of 198 check-in counters, some ticketing desks, 28 passport control desks, and access presently to 60 departure gates at 26 'fingers'.
Level 3 houses restaurants.
Terminal 2 (Malpensa 2) - intended for low-cost airlines - has 58 check-in desks, 23 gates with five 'fingers', 14 passport control desks & 28 aircraft stands, and currently only serves EasyJet.

For a current fee of 10 EU, you can use Fast Track service, getting you quicker to the departures lounge.
