I am flying Vancouver-Minneapolis-Hartford, all on delta. I have 63 minutes in Minneapolis. Is this enough time to get through customs?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in MSP is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

Hi there! I am arriving from Amsterdam, and my final destination is Pittsburgh via MSP. It is my first time in USA. What should I do upon arrival to MSP in order not to miss my connection flight to Pittsburgh? Thanks!

You will arrive, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate.

Thanks ZAP, one more thing, by chance do you know is there any transfer service in MSP that I can request? Thanks.

No there is not, nor is it necessary. MSP is not a busy international airport and sees only a handful of international arrivals daily.

I am flying from Sioux Falls SD to Miami with a 53 min layover in MPLS. All delta flights wondering if this is enough time for me to make my connection. I am getting on a Cruise in Miami and would not want to miss a flight

Yes, if your first flight is on-time that should be plenty of time.

i fly vancouver-minneapolis-boston with delta. do i have to pick up luggage and clear customs in Minneapolis if both flights are Delta? my connecting time is 55 minutes and i am wondering if that is enough time.

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in MSP is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

I arrive at 8:59, need to clear customs before flight to MSY leaves at 10:00, do I have enough time? Thanks

That will be very difficult but it's possible if your flight from Saskatoon is on-time. It will help immensely if you don't have checked bags.

  • Connecting Terminal G to A

What is the fasted way to make your connection from G to A? I have 56 minutes to make it through customs and security. It looks like there is a shortcut on the terminal map and I just need to know how to access it!

G and A are not terminals. They are both concourses of the Lindbergh terminal. You will have a hard time making your connection because of the customs and security, not the walk from G to A.

Also note that International arrivals are in the lower G gates, G1-8, not the further down G gates where the shortcut is of some use. You will actually exit customs not close to the G gates, but under the check-in area of the main part of the Lindbergh Terminal.

I just double checked and it is actually 66 minutes I have to make this connection. How does one get set up with getting a ride on the little buggies from one terminal to another? Or is that only for people with disabilities?

Sorry I meant from one Concourse to the other lol

You have to be disabled to ride in the golf carts.

I have a 90 min layover after arriving on Delta from PDX. Is this enough time to make my connection to PUJ also on Delta?

Yes, that should be plenty of time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • Can we make our connection?

We have a school group of 45 students and 5 staff arriving from London Heathrow at 15.56. Our connecting flight to Denver departs at 17.20. Can we get through immigration and onto our connecting flight in time? Will our hold luggage go onto the next flight or will we need to collect it and re-check it in?

It should barely be enough time. You will have to claim your baggage after going through US Immigration, then go through US Customs, then re-check your baggage at the transfer desk immediately after customs.

  • flying back from Cancun

there are 4 adults flying into MSP with Delta on 3/20 from Iowa. We're going to Cancun. We have less than 2 hour layover, and we want to find somewhere for breakfast (and maybe a Bloody Mary). I can't tell which Terminal we come in on, and where to go and find food. Then coming back we have about 1 hr 45 mins. is this enough time for customs etc? We have never flown out of the country before so this is new for us. I assume we will need to show our passports when we check in for the flight to Cancun. Is there a list or a map that shows me where we come in and go out and where food is from there?? thanks so much for any info you can give me. Cjohnson

Since you're flying Delta all your flights will be in the Lindbergh Terminal. On your way to Cancun all you have to do in MSP is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will go through Mexican immigration and customs when you get to Cancun. On your way back, in MSP you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate, again all in the Lindbergh Terminal. You should have enough time. There are lots of places to eat in the MSP terminal and fortunately, there is a county law in place requiring MSP airport restaurants to charging what they would charge at the mall vs. the exorbitant food prices seen at many US airports.

Thanks Zap....So when we come back from Cancun into MSP, did i understand right?, that we will have to go to baggage claims and retrieve our luggage, then re-check them in again for the flight back to CID?? Is there anyway to know which Terminal we will come in and out of? (A,C, or D, is that the right ones in the Lindbergh Terminal?)? Also probably a stupid question....but several years ago when we flew to Portland, also through Delta, doing things online we apparently signed up for Delta Sky Miles. What exactly is that, and does that mean we can go to the Delta Club Lounge?? thanks again

You will arrive in a special international baggage claim and will claim your bags. You can re-check your bags immediately after you clear customs at the transfer desk. All your flights will be in the Lindbergh terminal. SkyMiles does not give you access to the SkyClub lounge. All joining skymiles does is allow you to collect miles to get future free flights or flight upgrades.

  • layover 49 minutes

Am wondering if its wise to take delta coming in from Chicago(ohare) to Fargo (Hector Airport) connecting via Msp with only 49 minutes to spare am I risking it as that will be the last flight out to Fargo ? Please advice

That should be enough time. That's more than sufficient time to make a domestic connection at MSP.

    Thank you very much Zap.

  • London to Nashville through MSP with 2 hrs & 2 year old toddler

We are travelling from LHR to Nashville on the 25th March with a 2hr layover in MSP( 5pm to 7pm). We have a small toddler,1 checked in bag, no pushchair. Flying with Delta. Can we make it? All flight options had only 2 hrs layover and we booked thinking this was normal but when I read online forumson this connection, I am a bit doubtful now. Please help!

Yes, that is enough time. Immigration and Customs at MSP is rarely if ever crowded.

Thanks Zap! I am going to have to carry my 2 year old around the whole time which is definitely going to reduce my walking speed. Our seats are also in the back so, we will be coming out of the plane in the end. How much time do you think we would take to make it to the connecting departure gate from the time we exit the landing plane?

I think you will have enough time. I think if your flight from London is on-time you will have about 10 or 15 minutes to spare.

Thank you for the reassurance Zap, really appreciate it!

Flying in from YXE. We have 75 minute layover before flying out to BOS. Are we in same concourse area?? Will we have to clear security and/or customs ?? Flying on Delta airlines on Friday January 30.

Yes, you upon arrival in MSP You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags if you have checked bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags, and go through security and to your departure gate. Your flights may be close to each other but the Boston flights can leave from several different concourses.

I'm traveling from DTW to PDX with a 49 minute layover at MSP. I will have one checked bag. Is 49 minutes enough time? I'm worried I'll be cutting it close.

Yes, that should be enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I fly in on Delta and fly out on Delta Connections/ExpressJet Airlines with 1 hr layover. Is the Express Jet at the same terminal and close to Delta....will it be an easy connection? I looked on the MSP airport map but can't find Express Jet listed for either terminal.

Delta Connection operated by Expressjet flights use the same terminal as Delta, the Lindberge terminal. Yes, you have enough time.

my flight will be arriving at 8:59am from YXE and departing at 10:06am for CVG. Is there any way I can have a rough idea if they would be out of the same concourse area or will they be on total different ends and I will miss my flight? I am guessing no time to run out for a quick cigarette!

Considering you will have to go through US Customs, claim your bags (if you have checked bags), go through US Immigration, and re-check your bags and go through security. That is a very difficult connection to make. Unfortunately yes, your flight from CVG will probably not be near to where you will clear customs.

Any idea which concourse the flights to Cincinatti usually leave from? I would just like to try to figure out my way on a terminal map beforehand.

The 10ish AM flight to CVG left from C both yesterday and today. So I would say there's a good chance it will leave from C, but that's not certain.
