  • From Amsterdam to San Antonio
    May 28, 2015
I am arriving to MSP from Amsterdam. My final destination is San Antonio, TX. I have 1h 25 min between the arrival and the departure. Is it enough time to clear the customs and check in? Thanks

You will already be checked in for your flight to San Antionio. In Minneapolis you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, and go through security. You should have enough time (barely) if your flight from Amsterdam is on-time.

  • YYZ to MSP and then connecting dlight
    May 10, 2015
Hi I am flying from Japan to YYZ and then after 16 hrs of layover at YYZ, i make a flight to MSP. I heard that I can go through US custom at YYZ. Do I do that as soon as I land or right before I depart to MSP? Also at MSP, I need to swith canadian airline to delta. I have 1 hr layover. Is it enough time for me to pick up the laggage and then check into the second flight? Thanks for your advice!

You will go through US Customs right before you depart to MSP. Canadian Airlines went bankrupt 15 years ago. Are you flying Air Canada from YYZ to MSP? If you purchased two separate tickets and have checked bags, 1 hour is NOT enough time for your transfer in MSP.

Thank u for ur reaponse, Sir! Yes my mistake... I am taking air canada and then delta. So glad I checked here and got the advice before I made my reservation. I am going to make flight areangements to make sure I have enough time to do everything. Thank u again! So helpful!

I'm flying from Edmonton, Canada and Lima is my final destination. I have a 1h 15 min layover in Minneapolis. I can pass US security and customs in Canada, so I still wonder if my layover is enough to catch my flight to Atlanta (my second layover). Is it enough? Maybe this is out off topic, but do you know if I have to pass security and customs in Atlanta?

Yes, that should be plenty of time in Mineapolis - all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. In Atlanta all you have to do is take the Plane train from your arrival concourse to concourse E or F where you will depart. There us no US Immigration when exiting the country.

Delta flight Thursday pm from Columbus CMH and connecting to Amsterdam AMS with just 60min connection time. Would this be sufficient/do I need to check bags again and immigration?

There is no US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • Connection to Washington

Leaving YXE at 530am connecting in MSP for Washington DC, have 1 10 min. layover. Is that enough time to clear customs.

That should be enough time. There will be no lines for immigration at MSP that early in the morning.

  • YQR to MSP to PHL = 87mins to clear customs?
    May 4, 2015
Hi on June 20th the only way to get from YQR to PHL is with a tight connection in MSP. Leave YQR & land MSP @ 8:49am then depart to PHL @ 10:16am. Is this enough time? Will have check bag

Yes, that should be enough time. You will probably be the only international arrival at that time of the morning in MSP so immigration and customs should be a breeze.

Hi, I am travelling from Paris to Milwaukee the 11th of May, with a 1h45 layover in Minneapolis. The first flight is performed by AirFrance (AF 0694) and the second one is performed by Delta AirLine (AF8732). Will I have enough time to get to my next flight ? Is it likely to have a lot of waiting at US immigration ? And will I have to claim my bags in Minneapolis and re-check them for the flight to Milwaukee ? If I need to re-check my bags, is it easy to find the place where I must leave the bags ? Thanks.

1 hr 45 minutes should be enough time. Yes, in Minneapolis you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk that will be immediately after customs.

  • Connecting flight
    May 3, 2015
Arriving KL 6683 OKC-MSP leaving 1:05 minutes later to Amsterdam MSP-AMS KL 6058. Do I have to change terminals, will I make this connection?

Both flights will be operated by Delta and be in the Lindbergh terminal. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

My son is flying from Saskatoon to MSP then to omaha - he will have no checked bags but only has 55 minutes between flights - is that enough time?

That is barely enough time. He will have to go through US Immigration and customs and security in MSP.

As long as the first flight is domestic and on-time that should be enough time.

I am departing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and I need to make a connection to LAX in 1hr 10mins, It's my understanding that I have to recheck my bags and go through security. Will I have enough time?

That should barely be enough time if your flight from Saskatoon is on-time.

Hi, we are leaving from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and connecting in Minneapolis to Orlando. We only have an hour layover, is is enough time for customs?

It's probably barely enough time. your flight will probably be the only one in immigration at that time so there shouldn't be any lines. It's definitely pushing what's possible though.

Have a 45 min layover in MSP from MOT to Asia. is this enough time? do I need to do anything in MSP?

All you have to do in MSP is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, but it obviously leaves very little time to spare if your flight from Minot is delayed.

  • YEG - MSP (70 min)- CAN
    Apr 17, 2015
Will I make a a connection in MSP (Delta) in 70 min? Departing city is Edmonton (YEG) and final destination is Cancun (CUN)

Yes, that should be plenty of time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Edmonton.

  • AMS MSP ATL (78 min connection)
    Apr 13, 2015
Is 78 min enough to go through customs at MSP and connect to an ATL flight. All on Delta. Thanks.

That is well below the recommended minimum International to Domestic connection time of 90 minutes. I would contact your travel agent or Delta and request a later flight to ATL.
