  • Best route through MSP

Hi.I will be travelling from Europe via ORD to MSP with AA, then have an onward flight with DL. I'm pretty certain that AA won't interline my checked bag, so although travelling domestically by the time I'm at MSP, I will have to exit the secure area to collect and recheck my hold bag. It looks like the AA flight usually arrives at gate E14, and the onward flight usually leaves from the opposite end of the terminal at B gates. I should get TSA-pre, and at the moment my booking shows as Sky Priority (although I'm not sure this will stick - I have status with AA, but not DL...). The Connection time is 1hr28min. Any hints for the best route through the terminal? The terminal map suggests I could either return up to level 2 from baggage claim and clear security at the E gate end, or head downstairs to the transit level to check my bag in, then take the tram to the Transit centre and clear security at the Skyway.

There's a big checkpoint pretty close to the main Delta baggage check counters - just use that. It's not an easy walk from the baggage claim back to the skyway.

    Thanks!

I'm flying into MSP, on Delta, with a 40 min. layover, connection to KLM Royal Dutch airline. How far apart are the gates & will this be enough time?

Delta uses almost all gates in the Lindbergh terminal. You have enough time if the first flight is on-time.

I am flying from Cancun to msp then Seattle. At msp will have enough time to go through customs and make my connecting flight to Seattle? It's an 1 hour 27 mins. Also I know clearing customs is for my bags, but will I have to go through security again? Is there a separate line for customs? I am confused about the whole process.

I meant 1 hour 27 mins is my layover time.

Yes, that should be enough time. You go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security.

Hi I would be flying from SFO to LHR and having a 59 minute layover at MSP, both flights inbound and outbound are Delta. Can I make it?

Yes, all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Thanks a lots, I rappreciate, now I am felling good.

  • 39 min layover from gate A to gate F departure enough time

We arrive on delta at gate A13 and need to make it to gate F7 in 39 minutes. Is that enough time? Is it best to use the tram or use the connector to G and walk that way? We are in the front of the plane arriving.

I would use the connector, the tram is slow. That's enough time if your first flight is on-time.

Is 1 hour and 5 minute connection enough time to change planes? are they far apart? Have a slow 10 year old walker with a group of 4?

That should be enough time. Everything at MSP is well marked and the Delta terminal is not overwhelmingly large.

Thank you for your quick response. Very helpful.

Hi, I am fliying from LAS to Paris CDG through MSP. Both flights are with Delta. Will I need to go through security again in MSP for my international flight ? Is 1h41 enough ? Thanks

No, you won't have to go through security again. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.

    Great. Thanks a lot.

Hello; Would you please advise whether a 1 hr 16 min connection is acceptable when I would have to clear US customs (have global entry and no checked luggage) and be able to make it to my gate? Both flights are with Delta. Thank you for your help!

With Global entry and no checked bags I think you'd be in pretty good shape.

Thanks so much for your help -- I really appreciate it!

Arriving in MINNEAPOLIS ST PL at 2: 54PM and have to get to conecting flight to International Falls at 3:25 PM is this possible?

If the first flight is domestic that is possible, but it leaves no time to spare if it is delayed.

If flying in from mazatlan Mexico Jan 20th is an hour enough time to get through customs to my connecting flight? We will only have carry on luggage.

If both flights are on Delta and the first flight is on-time that should be just enough time.

Flying Calgary - Minneapolis - Atlanta on Delta how much layover time do I need. Will I need to clear customs or immigration?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. All you have to do in Minneapolis is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. 35-40 mins is sufficient.

I fly from Winnipeg, Canada to Amsterdam, Netherlands with a layover in Minneapolis. My Layover is 1h20min. Both flights are with Delta. Is this enough time to change flights? Will I have to go through security again and have to go to customs? Do I have to re-check-in my bags?

Yes, that is enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Winnipeg. All you have to do in MSP on your way to Amsterdam is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
