Arriving 8-2016 from Tokyo on Delta with 1:45 domestic connection on another Delta flight. Is this sufficient time for connection

Yes, that should be enough time if the flight from Tokyo is on-time. MSP is a very uncongested and efficient airport to make a connection at.

  • How to re-check luggage after custom

We will arrive with Delta from Amsterdam to Minneapolis and will continue to Fairbanks with Delta. How do we re-check the luggage after custom? Is there a special re-check desk?

Yes, there is a recheck desk where you can drop your bags right after you clear customs. You will then go through security and to your departure gate.

  • Term 2. To Term 1

Arriving on Iceair at Term 2 and realistically have one hour and a half to do the Intl arrival drill and make it to Term 1 for last flight of the night on AA. Have TSA Prechk and fast mover, Can I make this and is it faster to take a cab or the light rail between terminals ?

With precheck and no checked bags you can do this. With checked bags I don't think it will be possible for you to get your bags to AA before the cutoff. A cab won't take you - you have to take the light rail, which slows you down (but the light rail is a much more direct route than the road route - which takes 15 to 20 minutes).

This. Connection is three hours on paper, but unfortunately. Iceair is consistently 1-2 hrs late every night. I have never flown with them before and already know this is the last time. I'm screwed.

will be flying from MSP to AMS onnFriday with 52 minutes to make the flight to Amsterdam. Will this be sufficient? Many thanks! I will bevarriving at msp from las vegas

Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do in MSP is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Thanks! Do I need to collect and re-check in my luggage?

No, you do not. There is no US Customs when leaving the US.

Thanks so much for responding to my queries so expeditiously!

In general, may I ask how far ( in walking time ) between arrival gate to departure gate for Amsterdam? I am going from LAS and only have around 50 min for connecting flight to Amsterdam, sunday, at MSP. I just wonder if my flight gets there later than the scheduled time, how much time do I need to board the flight to amsterdam on time. Thanks Marcel to ask the question that I would also like to ask and Thanks ZAP for your helpful answers here.

The gates should not be more than a 10 minute walk or 2 or 3 minute jog apart.

    Great ! Thank you again!

  • Connection time sufficient?

my son and family are flying home and only have 45 min to make connection. With an 18 mo old and potentially short fuse they want to expedite the journey home from HI. Is 45 min sufficient for MSP-CID connection?

Sorry I forgot to add i'd be using Delta for this itin.

If the first flight is domestic, then yes, that is enough time if the first flight is on-time.

We are flying from Regina with 1st stopover at MSP. We have 1 hr 14 m to catch connection to New York. We will have to go through customs as we can't pre-clear in Regina. I've never been to MSP. Will we have enough time to clear customs, etc. Where do I go to find my checked bag? Thanks as this is all new to me!

The baggage claim is right after you go through US Immigration. The process in MSP is very quick and simple. You have enough time if your flight from Regina is on-time.

    Thank you!!

  • SMF to LAX to MSP to FCO all Delta

Only have 1.15 hr layover at MSP. Notice the flight from LAX (Delta 1539) seems to be late almost everyday, especially Saturdays (the day I'm flying). Will airlines (notably Delta) delay the departing flight a few minutes if they know they have connecting flight passengers? Also G18 to G3 (seems to be gates used often for the flights), how long to move between gates at 5 in the afternoon? Obviously trying to figure out if I have decent chance to make the connecting flight at MSP. Thx.

They usually do not hold departing flights. It shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes to make your connection in MSP.

Hi, We are flying on Delta through MN to Iceland. Our flight just got changed leaving us with a 56 minute connection. Is that enough time for 4 of us to clear customs and make the next flight?

There is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do at MSP on your way to Iceland is just walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

Thanks...that makes sense to me, but travel agent had told me we would have to collect our bags and re-check them...hence, my concerns...

I'm landing in Minneapolis from Chucago on Delta flight DL2223 and leaving 39 minutes later to Rome. Does anyone know the terminal & gates typically used and if this is enough time?

The Rome flight is DL0090 and also a Delta flight.

Security between concourses should be about 0-20min wait around 5pm & there is no time to use the bathroom or get something to eat. The gates are not that far away, but you will have go through security.

Ignore Fly123. You do not have to go through security. All Delta gates at MSP are connected inside security. You have enough time if the flight from Chicago is on-time.

Thank you! I talked to Delta and they confirmed the gates are close. C8-G3. Crossing my fingers the Chicago flight is on time. I'll post whether I make it or not.

Coming from Tokyo landing in MSP - flight is already delayed.- was suppose to land at 1:30 and connection to leave for YWG at 3:05 - with delay it will be 2:00 landing in MSP. Will 1 hour b enough to clear customs and connect?

It's not impossible if things go smoothly once you arrive.

Will 31min Connection work with 7 people? IN MSP?

If both flights are domestic Delta flights, yes, it is possible.

I land in MSP at 8:47 AM June 16th on a Delta flight and I'm checking a bag. Will I have to get my bag and then clear US customs before my next Delta flight at 10:10? Will I make it? Any tips to help me make it?

Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. You should have just enough time.

We have a 1hr 27 minute layover with Delta. Will need to clear US customs since you can't pre-clear in Regina. Will this be enough time? We won't have checked bags.

That should be just about enough time.

Flight 2087 leaves MCI and arrives at MSP at 1045. Flight 5068 leaves to Bismark ND in 30 min. Is this enough time on 22 June? If I miss it what then?

30min should be enough time. If you miss your flight ask the person at the counter if there are seats available on DL4517 that leaves at 1:18pm. If your bags make it on the plane and you didn't call Bismark airport if needed to hold your bags. Your bags may get lost just a warning.

Hi, we are planning a trip from Rome to San Antonio via MSP. The layover time is 1:57. We will have checked pets on board. Is this enough time to get everyone checked through the system?

Yes about 2hr should be enough time in MSP.
