How much time do I need between miy flights travelling from Regina Canada to Paris France through Minneapolis

90 minutes minimum since you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security.

  • Enough connection time?
    Feb 29, 2016
My husband and I are flying from Columbus, Ohio to San Diego for a Panama Canal cruise. Our flight times were changed and the connection time between flights is now only 38 minutes. It was changed from 1 hour and 5 minutes. We don't want to miss our ship and want our checked luggage to be transferred in time to make the our flight. Any thoughts? Should we worry about only 38 minutes between flights?

It's not impossible, but I would call Delta about the involuntary schedule change and ask for an alternate routing, likely through a different Delta hub.

  • Connection time 1 hr 16 min

I am flying from Amsterdam to MSP flying to New Orleans. I have a connection at MSP of 1 hr 16 mins. Is this enough time to disembark, clear immigration, collect bag and re check in and make the flight?

That's barely enough time if everything goes perfectly. MSP has very few international flights so there should be no lines at immigration when you arrive.

When you say barely enough time do you think it unlikely we would make it ?

I think you'll make it, and if you don't they will probably be able to rebook you to New Orleans through Atlanta pretty easily.

  • Tight connection time

Hi, Got my answer that 45 minutes is enough layover time for a domestic to international flight connection. Just to get extra peace of mind, do you know which concourses in terminal 1 Delta uses for their different flights? Can I just walk from one concourse to the other - or is there a faster way? Specifically I'm looking for SFO - MSP - FCO (Rome, Italy). TIA.

The fastest way between all Delta flights is to walk. The SFO and FCO flights should be reasonably close together as all the large aircraft use about a dozen gates in the same area.

  • Family of 6 is 35 minute connection time enough?
    Feb 23, 2016
Have a Family of 6 traveling Shanghai, Seattle, MSP, Kansas City. The MSP to KC (MCI) connection time is only 35 minutes or I can reserve a flight that has a 2:50 minute layover. Obviously I would like to take the earlier flight if I could make it...but is that really advisable with such a large group...if we missed it...what are the chances of getting us all on the later flight. This is on June 5, 2016?

Forgot to say this is with Delta and I believe the connections should be both in Terminal 1.

Yes, 35 minutes is possible if the first flight is on-time. However, you are right, if you did miss it they probably won't have 6 empty seats on the later flight. if you want to be safe I would book the later flight.

I am a us citizen flying from Saskatoon to phila via Delta with a 1hr 8 min layover in Minneapolis with connection to Phila.. i will have carry on only-can I make it with customs security etc. No later flights available

With carry-on only you should be OK as long as your flight from Saskatoon is on-time.

  • Short(er) Layover Concerns
    Feb 9, 2016
Hello, I am traveling from Saskatoon, YXE to Southbend, SBN with a 1 hour and 25 minute layover in MSP. The issue is that I will need to clear customs, in MSP and have no clue what this process looks like, Thankfully (based on your comments ZAP), my flights are Delta which means all in the same terminal. What is the process when I land in MSP? I will likely have to grab my bags, hit customs, recheck my bags, go through security, and then find connecting flight right? Is this enough time or do I need to look at changing this flight? I am NOT by any means an experienced person with airports and this will be my first time traveling without a companion in 4+ years so I am out of practice. Thanks in advance, J :)

Yes, you have the process correct (although you will go through passport control first, before baggage claim). This is enough time. MSP is not a crowded airport.

  • Is 54 minute connecting time enough to catch connecting flight
    Feb 8, 2016
I'm coming in from Calgary and get a connecting flight to RDU in only 54 minute layover, can I make it even clearing first the custom and do I recheck my luggage?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. All you have to do in MSP is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

  • 1 hr 30 min layover for international flight
    Jan 1, 2015
I will be coming in from DFW with a layover in MSP and then onto Iceland. The flight options I am looking at has a layover of only 1 h 30 mins - and although my bags would be checked in at DFW - will this time be enough ? Not sure if I will have to go through Security once again... Any help is much appreciated! Thanks in advance

That is plenty of time. All you have to do in Minneapolis is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. No security necessary.

  • Clearing customs

Is a 1 hour 20 minute layover enough time to clear customs and catch my connecting flight leaving from same terminal with 2 kids in tow?

No need to ask the same question twice.
