  • Arrived at MSP from YXE, did not pick up bags and drop at DELTA

How long does it take customs to move a bag not picked up, clear it, and route it to the correct gate typically.

They will not do that for you. Your bag will sit on the baggage claim in MSP for several hours and then be sent to the Delta baggage office in MSP. If you want your bag to get to your destination, you need to claim it when you arrive in MSP and take it through customs and re-check it yourself.

The bags made it through. I was lucky this time

  • Connection Too Tight?

We're flying from Houston to Rome at the end of Aug. via MSP. I just noticed our layover at MSP is only 44 min. That seems awfully tight, esp'ly to make priority boarding on our connection to Rome. I don't know the MSP airport... Is this too tight a connection? (We're Global Entry members, if security is a question.)

This is possible. you don't have to go through security in MSP. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time if your flight from Houston is on-time.

Thanks very much! That's very helpful. I'm afraid that "if" could be a big "if", if my recent trip on Delta is any indicator. Every flight took off late because the plane arrived at the gate late..Sometimes the pilot makes up the time, tho. Fingers crossed! Thank you!!

We are flying Frontier out of terminal 1 at 530am. Our flight boards at 455am but the shuttle doesn't leave our hotel until 4 getting there about 415. Will this be enough time to get checked in and make it to our gate?

Yes, that should be just enough time. Security probably doesn't open until 4:15.

My friend is coming in from Europe, landing at 4:40pm. She will need to get off the plane, through customs & Pick up her checked baggage. I have her booked on a 5:45 shuttle....Do you think 4:40 to 5:45 is enough time to catch the shuttle, or should I put her on a later shuttle (7:00pm)??? Thank you in advance!!

As long as her flight is on-time she should be able to make the 5:45 shuttle.

Thanks for the quick reply! My fingers are crossed that she doesn't get delayed on the way out & can catch that shuttle. Here's hoping! :)

I will be flying from Paris to MSP on Thanksgiving weekend. I have a 1 hour and 15 minutes connection in MSP until I head to DFW. I will be traveling with a carry on only. Is that enough time to go through customs and catch my flight to DFW? Also, when I am done going through customs do I have to go back through TSA or do I go straight to my gate? I don't know if this is important to know, but I will be flying from Barcelona to Paris to Minneapolis to Dallas.

With carry-ons only I think you can make it. Yes, you will have to go through security in MSP after you clear customs.

I will be flying from MSP to AMS onnFriday with 52 minutes to make the flight to Amsterdam. Will this be sufficient? Many thanks!

I will be arriving at MSP from Las Vegas

Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I am flying DL2163 with one carryon arriving msp from pdx. The layover is 46 minutes and then flies out of msp to cdg on DL169. Is that enough time....delta says it is, but I am certainly not able to run.

Yes it is possible as long as your flight from Portland is on-time.

I would like to fly delta would a 1hr layover give me time to take my service dog out, i'd like to give her 10 minutes, have tsa pre-check

With precheck it might maybe be possible. There's no guarantees.

Thank you. I found a longer layover.

  • 35 minute layover for domestic to international flight!

Delta had a flight change and now I have only 35 minutes between the flight from lincoln to Minneapolis and the international flight from Minneapolis to Amsterdam. I called and now I have a choice to take an earlier flight but have 7 hours layover. Is 35 minutes doable???

35 minutes is possible. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate and MSP isn't that big. However, obviously it leaves no time to spare if the flight from Lincoln is delayed.

Flying from Saskatoon to Newark with 1h35m in MSP. Flying Delta for both flights, will I have any trouble making it to my gate before boarding without checked baggage, or in the case that I am forced to check my slightly larger carry on, with a checked bag?

You should have enough time. Immigration at MSP is pretty much never crowded.

  • Clearing customs time

I have a 1 hour 20 minute layover at MSP on an international round trip flight. Will that be enough time to clear customs and catch my connecting flight with 2 young children in tow?

Where are you flying from and where are you flying to? What time are you arriving?

Arrival from CDG at 12:55 and heading to SAT at 14:20 with both flights at terminal 1.

It's probably enough time but it doesn't leave much to spare. Nominally the minimum International to Domestic connection time is 90 minutes but you can often get away with less at MSP because it doesn't see many international arrivals so immigration is rarely crowded.

Flying delta from winnipeg. Connecting flight in minneapolis to ft myers. Do we have to claim baggage in minneapolis to get connecting flight

You will preclear US immigration and customs in Winnipeg. You don't have to do anything with your bags in MSP. Just go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
