  • GRR to YYC layover time needed to clear customs

Flying from Grand Rapids(GRR) to Calgary Canada (YYC) with stopover in MSP. On flight out, do we just go thru customs in Calgary? On return flight, do we go thru customs in MSP? We have only 1hr 10 min layover. Is that enough time with checked bags?

On your way to Calgary you will go through Canadian Customs in Calgary. On the return, you will pre-clear US Customs in Calgary. Both ways all you have to do in MSP is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • LHR - MSP - RST -- do we have to recheck bags?

We are flying to London (LHR) from Rochester, MN (RST) via MSP and returning via the reverse route. All are Delta flights, using Delta Connection for the RST-MSP leg. On the return trip, obviously we'll come in through Customs at MSP. Will we have to collect our checked luggage and re-check it to get the connection to RST? Have usually gone direct from MSP and wondering what to expect. Thanks!

Yes, on your return from London in MSP you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate to Rochester.

i am travelling from amsterdam to las vegas via msp terminal 1 on a british passport. the entire journey is with the same airline. will 2 hours be enough time to get through customs and check in for my connecting flight

Yes, that should be enough time. MSP is not a congested airport.

  • Long enough layover?

I am looking at flights from Winnipeg to Vegas. There is a layover at MSP but it is only 37 minutes long. Is that enough time to make the connecting flight? I haven't booked the flights yet so I don't know which Concourses I would be using.

As Winnipeg has U.S. preclearance facilities, you should be able to make the connection at Lindberg Terminal. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/msp, then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text.
