Minsk National MSQ Airport Overview

Minsk National Airport MSQ, also known as ‘Minsk-2’, is located 42 km east of the capital city of Minsk, in the Republic of Belarus, and is the main international airport in that country, accessible directly via motorway M2, which connects to the northwest to motorway M1.

Minsk National Airport was designed to accommodate five million passengers a year, however so far only one million passengers a year use the Airport. 

With a long runway and 1.8 million passengers in 2012 (a 1-year increase of 27.4 percent!), Minsk National Airport is host to Belarus’ national airline Belavia, as well as to several foreign airlines offering flights to select European cities, as well as to the Middle East.

NOTE:  If you are a non-citizen of Belarus and intend to stay there temporarily, you must take out a medical insurance which you can obtain the Arrivals Hall.  A visa can be obtained at the airport (business, guest, tourist and transit visas), the cost of which depends on the country in which the foreign applicant lives. Parking at Minsk National Airport is available in the lot across from the terminal with over 700 spaces, protected 24 hrs/day.

To get from Minsk Airport to your destination you can rent a car (Alamo, Avis, Europcar, Hertz & Sixt), or take a taxi ($30-50 for 40-minut ride), a or take shuttle bus or a minibus serving the Airport:
'Marshrutka" shuttles run every 30 mins, take 80 mins and depart from both Vostochnyi & Moskovskii bus stations.

A hotel is 15 minutes from the airport at Baramzina 13 Street and offers free shuttle service.
