Main Terminal / Concourses at Myrtle Beach MYR Airport
The passenger terminal at Myrtle Beach International Airport, with Concourses A B, has just completed its extensive renovation and extention project, whereby it expanded the teminal size by 240,000 sq.ft (now 395,000 sq.ft.). Improvements to the terminal include new inline baggage handling system, apron reconstruction, 6 new airline gates (now 13), 8 new boarding bridges, 3 more ground-loading positions, reconstruction of taxiway & expansion; a rental car facility; new restaurants; parking facilities extension or renovation; and new Airport circulation and access roads - all resulting in a doubling of terminal space, improved traffic flow and increased airside capacity.
The Terminal's facade is finished with blue glass & copper metallic panels representing South Carolina's Atlantic Coast (a 60-mile bach refered to as the 'Grand Strand'); its roof represents the ocean waves. The colors inside and their finish materials should convey the region's vacation culture, with Nacho Hippo restaurant presents local dining.
The Departures level, when entering it via escalator or elevator, houses thedepartures lobby, and has to the right Concourse B (currently only gate B1), to the left an ATM machine, Airport Information counter, the Nacho Hippo Restaurant, and access to Concourse A (gates A1-A6), housing presently Hudson News, Caribou Cafe & Steak 'N Shake.
The Ground level serves Arrivals & Check-in passengers: It houses to the left 4 baggage claims & baggage service office, Visitor Information, ATM, Airport Information, and access to ground transportation. The center exit leads to the rental car facility and across from it is the Boardwalk Cafe, with adjacent Ticketing Lobby offering airline counters and access to TSA passenger screening the the Departures Lobby.
Airport Ambassadors assist passengers with questions about ground transportation, baggage issues, airline services, flight arivals/departures, concessions, and special needs.
Important Notices:
1. The new entrance to the terminal is at Harrelson & Jetport roads, across the street from Whispering Pines Golf Course entrance.
2. Major rental car agencies are now located in the new RCF (Rental Car Facility) on the newly named 'Radar Road'.
