Main Terminal / Concourses at Nairobi Kenyatta International NBO Airport
Jomo Kenyatta Airport has one large passenger terminal, presently divided into three areas: Units I & II are for international departures, and Unit III is for both domestic departures and arrivals.
Information desks manned by customer care officers are strategically placed in all the units and at the arrival hall.
A flight information display system (FIDS) and signage helps passengers find their way around the airport.
Business facilities in the passenger terminal include a cyber café offering internet access in the Departures area; for fax, printer or copy services visit the Information counters; airline lounges & children's play area. Left luggage facility is in the domestic/ local departure hall (Unit 3). To print out your air ticket go to gates 8-10.
Note that the terminal is still undergoing drastic expansion until early 2012 - no indication what 'early' means - when it should be three times its present size and have a Unit IV added. Until completion, however, count on long lines, occasional electric blackouts, insufficient personal care facilities (only 2 bathrooms on the upper floor not accommodating wheelchairs), no help when stranded, and nowhere to sit but on the floor (too few chairs).
Unit IV (or Terminal 4) is also to be built, sponsored by the EU-Africa Infrastructure Trust Fund.
Other amenities and services inside the passenger terminal include banking and currency exchange services, rental car counters, duty-free & retail shops.
For Customer Service within the terminal call 4343, 4137, or 4360; from outside Kenya +254-20-6611000, or fax +254-20-822930.
