  • Travelling from Mumbai (India) to Austin (Texas)

I am traveling from Mumbai to Newyork (JFK) and then EWR to question is I need to collect my check in baggages from JFK and take them to EWR and again check in? OR airline will take care of that....moreover, how can i commute to EWR from JFK?

You will have to claim your baggage in JFK and take it to Newark. A taxi between JFK and EWR is about $100. You can take the JFK Airtrain to the LIRR to Penn Station and then transfer to the NJT to the Newark AirTrain. Leave at least 4 hours for your transfer.

I will be buying a bottle of duty free whisky at Gva - my flight arrives at Newark and then have a connection to Nashville - can I carry the whisky as hand luggage on my flight to Nashville

No, you cannot. You have to put it in your checked baggage or mail it to yourself in Newark.

  • do I have to check out my bags and go through immigration check

my flight is from bombay to STL united airlines, I have 2 hours layover in EWR. and have to catch United flight from EWR to chicago and then to STL. do I have to check out my bags in EWR and go through immigration check and check in again?

Yes you need to go through passport check/ pick up bags; go through customs clearance & re-check-in bags. Note that United Airlines uses TC for its domestic & international flights - arrivals & departures, and Terminal B for some international arrivals - meaning you could arrive at either TB or TC. (United Express uses both TA & TC for its domestic arrival & departures). The AirTrain connects all 3 terminals of EWR, but in the unsecured areas - if you need to switch terminals, you will need to go through security check first at your departing terminal. Make sure your bags are tagged for ALL airports with their Airport Code. For your Chicago (O'Hare of Midway?) connection, I suggest you open, (ORD is O'Hare; MDW is Midway) then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text.

  • Travel to England, UK

I will be flying from Montreal, Canada to Newark arriving at terminal A, then making a connecting flight from Newark to London, England at terminal C, I only have 90 minutes to run from TA to TC, my question is do I have enough time to make the flight and do I have to check out my luggage and check in again for the flight to UK? Remember I fly from Montreal, Canada, please advise

Were your tickets bought on one reservation? Are you flying United with both flights? If so you will pre-clear US Immigration in Montreal and your arrival in Newark will be just like a domestic flight. Then you can take the secure-side United shuttle bus from Terminal A to Terminal C. If your first flight is on-time you should have enough time.
