Hi please assure me! I'm flying from Manchester UK into EWR (on good Friday) and there is 1hr20 minutes to get to my connecting flight (both flights united airlines and same booking) which is taking me to TAMPA in Florida. Is there anything I can do??
That is well below the minimum recommended connection time for international to domestic in Newark. You have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, likely change terminals on the AirTrain and go through security. This will be a very difficult connection to make and if you miss your connection it will be hard to rebook you because you are traveling on a very busy day.
Hello All, My wife would be travelling from New Delhi(India) to Newark through United airlines on March 9th arriving at terminal C and have connecting United flight from Terminal A to Norfolk. My question is do she need to collect baggage for customs clearance and need to recheck again? if yes how far the united recheck in counters are located after customs clearance. Any help would be highly appreciated as she is travelling first time to EWR.
She will go through US Immigration, claim her bags, go through US Customs, then re-check her bags at the re-check desk right afterwards, then take the AirTrain to Terminal A and go through security and to her departure gate.
Hi everyone ! I have a flight from Montreal to Tokyo with United and Layover in Washington D.C IAD airport for 1 hr 30 min . Do I have to go through immigration / Clearance in Washington ? is 1 hr 30 min enough ? what should I do with my luggage ? both flighs are with united though ! I'd appreciated if you guys give me some info .. Thanks a bunch !
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal. All you have to do in IAD is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.
Hi, I will be flying in from Tel Aviv to EWR. I am not sure of the terminals yet. Once I go through customs I then need to hop on another flight to Nashville. That flight was a seperate booking from the first flight. Will I have to recheck my bag after customs? If so, do I have to go back to the front to recheck it? I greatly appreciate your help.
Yes, you will have to take your bag to the check in desk of the airline you are flying to Nashville to re-check it, unless both flights are on United and you show your Nashville confirmation to the agent in Tel Aviv and get your bag tagged to BNA. In that case, you can re-check your bag at the re-check desk right after clearing customs.
Yes, both flights are on United so I will definitely request that in Tel Aviv. My plane lands at 5:20 and my connecting flight is 8:00. Even if both customs and security are long is that still enough time?
Hello i have a connected flight from IST to CLE. I have read that bags are transferred without me checking them in. Is it true for a connected flight? And how do I buy a ticket for the AirTrain to get from terminal B to C? Thank you
That is incorrect. You have to claim your bags to go through US customs. You will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, take the AirTrain to your departure terminal (A or C) and go through security. You don't have to buy a ticket to take the airtrain just between terminals - it's free.
I am traveling from Delhi to Kansas city (MCI) in United Airlines with a connecting flight at NWR. I made the reservation on a same ticket via United online booking. Do i need to collect checked in bag for connecting flight at NWR?
Sorry I misspelled the airport name it is EWR (Newark)
I fly out of EWR. I will have a checked bag and a carryon. There is a layover in Brussels for 2 hours and 25 minuets. I will also be switching from United Airlines to Brussels Air. My final destination is Seville, Spain. Will I need to pick up my checked bag and then re-check it? Do I go through customs in Brussels or Seville? If so to both where do I go and should I have enough time to do all that?
You will go through passport control in Brussels. You don't have to do anything with your bags. You have enough time.
My flight to Newark was rerouted to Syracuse. I finally landed in Newark but missed my connecting flight to Stockholm. My bag was checked through to Stockholm, Sweden. What is your protocol to get bags to their destination with delayed passengers. I was put on a later flight to Zurich and then to Stockholm. . I am in Stockholm with no bag. When will it arrive??
You will have to contact United baggage service. They will probably put it on the next nonstop from Newark to Stockholm.
