i will be arriving from the middle east to either terminal b or c on united airlines. What are the most simple locations,Ii.e. an information booth that is easily visible and simple to find) within the terminals, to meet up with my american lawyer -we have never met before and he will be holding a sign with his name. j will just have a carry on so only need to go through immigration. thank you
Hello, I hope you can help, I'm going on a tour around America and flying from Newark to Toronto for 4 days and back in December with porter airlines and wondered if there is any luggage storage at Newark that I can leave my two cases at for while I'm in Canada? Thank you in advance.
We are flying BOM - EWR and then EWR - MCO. our international (BOM-EWR) flight reaches EWR at 5:40 am and the domestic flight (EWR-MCO) is at 21:00 hours (9 pm) So we have a really long layover of about 15 hours. Both are on United and both flights use terminal C. We have some passes fro the United club. So is it possible to use the United club - domestic lounge near gate C 120 after we clear the immigration, and recheckin the bags? Is it possible to go out to new York after using the United Lounge (for shower and refreshments) for some sightseeing and then come back later?
Yes, after you go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security, you can go to the United club and stay there until about 8 PM when you should head to the gate for your Orlando flight. Alternatively, yes, you can go through security to use the lounge, then leave, go somewhere, return the airport and go back through security and depart (note that you won't be able to go back to the lounge). Also note that EWR is about an hour by train from the city.
Thanks for your reply. The United Club near Gate C 120 is post security? So Once we go though the security can we again come out ... why I am asking is most of the Airports in India do not allow you to come out of the airport once you go past the security and you just have to wait till you catch your flight. Thanks in advance.
Yes, the United States is not India, you can leave security and go back in all you want as long as you have time to do so. Yes, all United Clubs at EWR are post-security.
im flying from fort myers florida to newark and then on to ottawa ontario do i need to go thru us customs there at newark or when i land in ottawa with so many changes i want to make sure before i book a flight as stated above and only have 1 hour and 5 minutes bewtween flights
There is no US Customs when leaving the US. You will go through Canadian Immigration and Customs when you get to Ottawa. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will arrive in Terminal C and likely depart from Terminal A. United runs a shuttle bus inside security from C to A.
Thank you for your response but I've heard that a terminal change requires going thru security again if this is true then one hour and five minutes would not be enough to time ?
If both flights are on United/United Express that is NOT true. United runs a shuttle bus inside security.
FYI. Flew into Terminal C domestically. Have a PriorityPass for the club in Terminal B. Glad we checked first. I didn't know that if I left Terminal C to go to Terminal B we would have to go through TSA again. WTF. No ability to go between terminals securely!!!?? Crazy!!!
If one has a long lay over in EWR flying in from europe can they go out of the airport with their baggage to meet a friend and later go thro' the standard baggage check and security for the next flight within usa
Yes, you can. Once you clear US Immigration and customs you are in the United States and legally free to go where you want.
I am traveling from Newark to Phoenix, via United, with 2 twelve year old kids on Sunday July 10th. The plane departs at 7:30 AM. How early should we arrive to get thru the security check on time? I assume the line is not as long so early in the AM, and getting up extra early is not my goal
