I am flying on United from Frankfurt to CVG on Apr 12, connecting thru Newark. Frankfurt flight lands at 2:20 pm. CVG leaves at 3:55. I know this is cutting it close. Any ideas on how I can increase my odds for making this connection?

Hi, My Wife and kid is traveling from Bombay (INDIA) to SFO (USA). They have stop over at EWR for about 1hr 45 min. Is this time is sufficient to clear the US immigration and bag claims and security and all. Flight is on 22nd April 2015 at 11.20 from BOM and will land in EWR at 5.30 am and there will be another flights at 7.25 from EWR to SFO. both flights are united airlines

Yes, that should be enough time for their transfer.

    Thanks ZAP!!

Hi, we are flying with United Airlines from Oslo to Lax, with a layover of 90 minutes at EWR. Is it enough time? If missing the connection, would rebooking be possible? Thanks inadvance for your help.

Yes, that is right on the minimum amount of allowed time for that connection, so it is possible. If you do miss your connection you will be rebooked free of charge on the next available flight to LAX. United flies many flights from EWR to LAX.

  • Quiet areas

I am looking for some quiet areas in Newark, in any of the terminals, to use during my layover. I get anxious around a lot of people, so I like having places to destress in. I know B has a little, dark artsy movie theater, I used that the one time we traveled through EWR. I've heard C has a Meditation Room? Has anyone been in it? Anything else that I might find useful for my layover of almost 3 hours? Thanks!!

  • Long layover Hotel

I am flying into Newark from Israel on 2/12/15 at 0430 and out to LAX at 1930. Is there a hotel I can stay for a few hours?

There are lots of hotels near Newark but I don't know how many you could check in at 6 AM. You might want to get a list of nearby ones (Wyndham, Marriott) and then call them when you arrive to see if any of them have any rooms available for immediate check in. You could also spend the day in the United Club. They sell day passes and the one near Gate C120 has shower facilities.

i'am flying into terminal c from Dublin with a 6 hour lay over is it ok to leave the terminal to visit some friend's locally

Yes, you will have already cleared US Immigration and there's nobody guarding the doors to the airport. You'll have to go through security again when you come back.

  • Connect to Int'l Flight in EWR on UA

U.S. citizen with ticket from DC to Newark to Lisbon with connection. Both UA flights. Looks like UA express usually lands in Terminal A and overnight int'l flight goes out of C. Can I assume that when I get to EWR I will take the air train to terminal C, go through security there, and be on my way? Have over 2 hrs. to connect, and flight to EWR has good on time record. Assume I should be fine, as long as flight isn't drastically late, right?

This is the latest United/ United Express (both tel. 1-800-241-6522) information: 1. United Airlines uses for its departures TC, and for its Arrivals TB (International) & TC (Domestic & International) - both at their level 1. 2. United Express uses for its departures TA & TC, and for its Arrivals TB TA, level 2 & TC, level 1. 3. If landing at TA, simply take the shuttle (near gate A28) to TC (near gate C71) - no security check needed. Between Terminal B & C you need the Airtrain and have to go through security check before proceeding to your connecting gate.

  • Can I leave airport

I am travelling from Chicago to Mumbai with a stopover at Newark. The duration of the stopover is 12 hours. I have a valid H1 B visa. Can I leave the newark airport and come back for my next flight.

Yes, you can. There's nobody checking visas/identification when leaving the airport. Also an H1B visa allows you to travel within the United States as much as you want.

    Thanks ZAP

  • Smoking

I have a 1 hr layover arriving and departing from terminal c. Do I have enough time to go out and smoke? From my research I have found out that I would have to go through security again.

I probably wouldn't but if your flight is on-time you probably do if you hurry.

I know it's risky. I have never been through that airport so I wasn't sure where you have to go and how long it will take to get back through security on a normal day there. I from Columbus and it never takes more than 10-15 minutes.

  • Glasgow via Newark to either toronto yyz or buffalo buf

International flight from Glasgow UK united. To either buffalo or toronto as based in niagara Canada side 30th December with 2hr 10minute layover I need wheel chair. What is best connecting flight to choose and is this enough time and what is process

As to wheelchair or special needs accommodation, you need to contact United. You will arrive at EWR at Terminal C, where you need to go through passport check, pick up bags, go through customs clearance, and re-check-in bags where indicated. Your connecting flight to Toronto would be in the same terminal, while a United Buffalo departure may be out of Terminal A, reached via Airtrain, which takes no more than 10 mins, but you need to go through security check at TA before proceeding to your gate. At Buffalo Airport, Canadian and US travelers can take either the on-site Airport Taxi (1-800-551-4369), the Airport Express (1-800-604-1570) or the Airport Shuttle (1-888-402-6606)--among many other options. At Toronto you have more transportation options.

If both flights leave at the same time then just choose whichever destination is easier for you or costs less. Both will likely leave out of the same part of the terminal at Newark and both entail the same procedures in Newark - you will have to go through US immigration, claim your baggage, go through customs, then re-check your bags, then possibly go to a different terminal where United Express operates, then go through security and to your gate. If you fly to Toronto, you will go through Canadian immigration when you arrive in Toronto. You can request wheelchair service from United over the phone after you book your ticket.
