Im flying from ireland to newark and connecting flight to houston on 13th sept united. They changed my flight times few weeks ago giving me 30mins to get my concecting flight. Both in terminal c. Do u think i will make it
I really don't know what to do. With baggage claim closing at 1, I'll be stuck with my luggage I assume until my international flight at 10:23 pm. I don't think I can sleep near airside because I'd have to still check in my luggage? Or how will I get to airside? I'm worried about theft as there were several reports. Anyone have any ideas on what to do and where to sleep? Getting a hotel or airbnb isn't much of an option as I'm a student trying to save money.
Sleep in the baggage claim area with your bags. The Airport is very safe. You can check them and go through security at about 4-4:30.
Hello, I am trying to book a flight from Dallas (DFW) to Israel (TLV) thru EWR, with United.. I have never visited New York, and had the idea that if I can book a flight with a long layover, it would be a great opportunity to visit the city or Statue of Liberty ... I have three questions please: - I will be with two kids alone, 7 and 3.5 years old.. is it possible to do this? or is it just too much of a hassle with kids? - If it is worth it and doable, what is the minimum layover hours that I will need? - Where to go? Somewhere I can get a good glimpse, that is also doable with the kids? (My daughter would love to see the Statue of Liberty .. but don't know how busy is the area)
The Statue of Liberty is on an island and seeing it up close is virtually an all-day trip. Doing what you propose would be a major hassle with little kids. EWR is not particularly close to Manhattan. You'd want a minimum of 12 hours to do anything worthwhile.
I will be arriving from MXP to EWR at 2:15 pm for the first time in US. I was wondering if I would make it to Newark Penn station in 2 hours to catch a train or bus at 4:15 pm.
I think that would be very difficult. I would say the whole process (immigration, customs, airtrain, NJT Train) will take 2-3 hours.
Thanks for the reply, how about Amtrak train from EWR
Do you mean to board an Amtrak Train to somewhere other than New York-Penn or to take the Amtrak to NY Penn. Amtrak takes the same amount of time to get from EWR to NYP and just runs less often, but you could book an Amtrak train leaving EWR 2 hours after your flight arrives and make it if it is on-time.
Thanks that was helpful! I should take Amtrak directly from EWR to Baltimore.
Travelling from Toronto, Canada to Rome, Italy with a 3 hour connection in Newark. Do I have to collect my bags and recheck them? Do I have to clear US Customs? Or do I just have to clear security again?
I should mention the Toronto to Newark flight is Air Canada and the Newark to Rome flight is United.
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Newark is take the AirTrain to Terminal C and go through security.
