  • Time to go back through security?

My girlfriend is flying in from West Palm Beach to catch a flight to London. She has about a 1 1/2 hour layover in Newark (8:05-9:40pm). Will she have enough time to leave the secure area and go back through so I can say goodbye?! The chart says terminal C security takes only a few minutes between 8 and 9pm. Thoughts?

Yes, security lines should be pretty short that time of night. If her flight is on-time she should have a few minutes.

I am flying in from Biringham UK, and onwards to Halifax NS, Canada. 6 hours between arrival and departure. Am I allowed to clear immigration and go and see something of the city?

    1. As an international arrival, you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag (the tag should indicate layover and final destination Airport Codes) - a process taking about 45 mins. However, make sure that your arriving airline makes the baggage transfer to your connecting flight (not all airlines do, in which case you would have to take your bag to the terminal of departure and re-check-in there. 2. I suggest you use the bus instead of the Airtrain to mid-town Manhattan - getting you directly from point to point. My travel estimate would be 1.15 hrs. each way. (a) You can use the Airport Express Shuttles to Manhattan, running every 15-30 minutes from the Arrivals Level bus stops outside all three passenger terminals; or (b) use the Olympic Bus service to downtown and midtown; the bus to midtown makes its first stop at the Bus Terminal on 42d Street/8th Avenue (a block from Broadway.

So expedia planned the worst layover ever. I have a flight arriving at gate 111x in C2 at 6:48 and my next flight begins boarding at 6:50 at gate 127 in C3. I have made fast layovers before but this seems next to impossible.....I'm not wrong am I??

Our kids are coming back from an overseas flight bright and early in the morning this week., and I needed to find something to do with them early in the morning for a few hours..for fun in or around Newark airport! Thanks for the ideas! We may hop on a train and head up to the Empire State Building Mom Oj
