I'm looking at a United ticket that from Montreal (YUL) to EWR, Then from EWR to San Francisco (SFO) with a 56 minute connection at about 8am.
Is this enough time to make the connection? Will my 2 flights likely be in the same terminal? And would I clear US customs in Canada before leaving? (I know I have done this when flying from YVR before)

Yes, you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal so all you have to do in Newark is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. However, you will likely arrive in Terminal A and depart from Terminal C. United runs a shuttle bus inside security between their gates in A and C. You have enough time.
Traveling from Milan to SFO with a connection at EWR. Both flights are United on one ticket. Is 2 hours enough time to make the connection? Ticket says terminal change. Also would we go through customs at EWR or SFO? Thanks

Yes, that should be just enough time. In Newark you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, take the AirTrain to Terminal C if you arrive in B, then go through security.
Arriving from Cancun with United Airlines at Terminal B .Onward flight to Dublin also with United departing from Terminal C.Do I need to go through immigration control or can I proceed direct to my flight to Dublin

You have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then take the AirTrain to Terminal C and go through security.
I arrive terminal C on a direct United flt but meeting friends who arrive at different terminals. 1 arriving terminal B and the other arrives at A. We all depart from Terminal B (La Compagnie). We have allowed enough time baring any airline issues but wondering how long it takes to navigate from C to B - and - from A to B. Is there a train or bus that will be easy to find? many thanks!!!
The Airtrain connects the terminals in 5-10 minutes.
We have a flight from San Juan arriving at 16:45 in Newark. We depart at 19:00 from Newark to Vancouver, BC, Canada. Can someone advise if we clear Customs in San Juan do we still clear Customs in Newark on arrival or before departure or are we okay until we arrive in Canada. With thanks,
Flights between Puerto Rico and the mainland US are domestic flights and there is no US Customs when leaving the US. You will go through Canadian Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. You have enough time.
Hi, i am travelling to Mumbai via newyark by united airlines starting from Detroit. Layover time at newark is just 40 minutes. Is it adequate to change planes and pls let me know if there is a need to change terminals
That is barely enough time if everything goes perfectly. You may or may not have to change terminals. If you arrive in Terminal A, United runs a shuttle bus to Terminal C where you depart inside security.
I'm traveling from Puntacana Dominican Republic to Allentown with a connection at EWR. United(PUJ-EWR) and United Express Bus Service (EWR-ABE) Any help with the process. I have 3 hours connection
Yes, that is enough time if everything goes smoothly. Here's a long forum thread on how the bus works - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/continental-onepass-pre-merger/747835-abe-ewr-bus-service-questions-threads-merged.html
I am travelling from Bogotá-Colombia (BOG) --through EWR-- to Hamburg-Germany (HAM). I have a flight on United with the same ticket. Is 1.52 H enough to transfer from Terminal A to Terminal C? Thank you!
You won't arrive in A. You will arrive in B or C and depart from C. In Between you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, possibly change terminals, and go through security. It is a fairly risky connection.
I am landing at EWR from LHR at 19.20 and would like to take another flight (with a different airline) to LAX. There is a UA flight at 21.30, would 2h10 be enough to clear immigration, get my bag, check it in and then go through security again?
What airline are you flying to Newark?
I would recommend 3 hours for such a connection if you have checked bags.
