I am flying from Dublin, Ireland (DUB) to Newark (EWR), but my connection time to Orlando, Florida (MCO) is only 35 minutes. If I only have a carry on, and I have been precleared in Dublin, will I be treated as a domestic arrival, or will I have to go through customs again? Should I change to a flight with a longer connection time?
Correct, all you have to do in Newark is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. 35 minutes is possible but leaves no time to spare if the flight from Dublin is delayed at all.
I flew from Denver. Next to Stockholm with SAS. Can I leave from terminal C to terminal B without transport? How long is it?
There is a shuttle from gate C71 to the SAS gates sin Terminal B inside security. If you have 60 minutes you should have enough time as long as your flight from Denver is on-time.
Hi i am travelling from heathrow in october and have to change at newark. We land at terminal b and the next flight is at terminal c how long is it likely to take me to get to terminal c
For an International to domestic connection at Newark you need at least 2 hours.
So it takes a while to get from one terminal to the other? Do we have to get a shuttle?
You take the airtrain. However, a lot of time will be consumed going through US Immigration, customs, and security.
We will be returning to UK from Orlando to Heathrow with 45 minute change over in Newark in October.
Is this allowing enough time?
Thanks
Yes, that is enough time if the first flight is on-time.
Hi, I'm flying tomorrow from Vancouver (YVR) to Dublin (DUB) with Air Canada/United Airlines Codeshare connecting in Newark but I've only got 45mins between flights. I didn't know I would have to get my bags again in Newark, I thought they would be checked thru the whole way in YVR as its a United flight. Do I also have to clear immigration in Newark even though I am only connecting thru to Ireland? I am a NEXUS card holder if that will be any use to me, do you think I have any realistic chance of making my flight given that i will be both landing at and departing from Terminal C.
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in Newark is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will be able to use your NEXUS card in Vancouver.
Hi I'm traveling from Shannon to Orlando airport with a connecting flight in Newark. All of my flights are with united airlines, will I have to pick up my bags and re check them in Newark? Thanks!
You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Shannon. All you have to do in Newark is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, nothing with your baggage.
Hi, I am flying from Shannon Ireland with United Airlines to Orlando with a connecting United Airlines flight in Newark. The time to transfer is just over 3 hours. Do I have to pick up my bags in Newark and recheck them in for my flight to Orlando? Will this be enough time? Thank you!
You pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Shannon. If both flights are on the same reservation you just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate in Newark. You have plenty of time.
Thanks Zap, your a fantastic help! I posed this a second time because I didn't realise the first one had gone through so please ignore the above post, it's just me again :)
I am flying from Dublin, Ireland to Denver, Colorado on Thursday, with a stopover in Newark. My Dublin-Newark flight lands at 15:45. My connecting flight to Denver with United takes off at 18:29. Will this be enough time to make the connection, and what procedure should I follow in order to make sure both myself and my checked luggage are put on the flight to Denver?
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Dublin. If both flights are on the same reservation on United then all you have to do in Newark is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.
Both flights are on the same reservation with Aer Lingus. Should I still simply proceed to departure gate?
Yes, but the departure gate will be in a different terminal so you have to take a shuttle bus.
Hi,
I am traveling tomorrow to Minneapolis and my flight arrives from Brussels to Terminal B at 1.20pm, then i have to go to Terminal C to get my flight to Minneapolis which leaves at 3:01 (both are United flights).
Will I have enough time to go through the whole process in 1:40 minutes? Should I ask any priority to go through customs?
Thank you iun advance,
JF
Yes, that should be enough time if everything goes smoothly. You don't get to go to the head of the line because you have a tight connection - almost everyone on your plane will.
I have a 50 min in between my flight that lands at Terminal C and my flight that departs from terminal A. If I check a bag - will my checked luggage make the connection? And if it doesn't make the connection, will I be stuck in Newark waiting for the next flight?
Yes, you and your bags can make the connection. Your bags not making the connection doesn't mean you can't. United runs a shuttle bus inside security from gate C71 to their gates in Terminal A.
