I am flying Ottawa to Newark to Shannon, county Clare both flights with united. There is a 1hr 30 min layover. Is this enough time and will I have to check my bags in again at Newark? Thanks
That is enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Ottawa. You don't have to do anything with your bags in Newark. All you have to do is take the shuttle bus from Terminal A where you arrive to Terminal C where you depart. You have enough time.
I am flying from Dublin to Toronto with a connection through Newark with Air Canada and the ticket is on the same reservation. I have a layover for 2 hours and 30 mins. Will I have to collect my bags and go through security or customs in Newark? Any help would be great thankyou!
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Dublin. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate, take the AirTrain to your departure terminal, and go through security.
I will be arriving to EWR domestically on United, then departing to Munich on Lufthansa, Do I need to recheck in and go through security again?
Where are you flying into EWR from? No, you will not have to re-check your bags if both flights are on the same reservation. All United and Lufthansa gates are connected inside security by shuttle buses.
We will be flying in from Fort Myers FL. Scheduled to have 1 hr 45 min layover
Then you just have to take the shuttle bus inside security from Terminal C to your Lufthansa gate in Terminal B. You have enough time.
We bought tickets from Estonia to New York Liberty (estonia – amsterdam – new york) airport in january. Same day we must fly from New York to Indianapolis. We arrive to New York Liberty airport 13:35 but next flight to Indianapolis is 15:55. Is two hours and twenty minutes enough time to go throught the custom and go to internal flight or we must buy tikets next flight? Flights between is 5 hours and 40 minutes.
Sorry, our flight is from Estonia to Copenhagen to New York not throught Amsterdam. Flight company is SAS and internal flight company is United Airlines.
Yes, that should be enough time if everything is on the same reservation. If it's two separate reservations and you have checked bags that will be pretty difficult and I would go with the 5 hour connection.
I have a 55 min layover with United Airlines flight from DFW to EWR, then a connecting flight with United Airlines to Glasgow, Scotland. Will I have time to get through security? Also, I am concerned, if United is good for being on time at that airport with my 55 min layover? I am traveling in April.
Another question, do I have to go through customs at EWR after I land from Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) on United Airlines to connect to my United Airlines flight to Glasgow, Scotland and beable do it within my 55 min layover? This is the last flight out that evening and I am afraid of any delays.
P.S. I will be bring a small carry on luggage for the overhead storage, so I will not have a regular checked bag, as United probably will not have time to transfer my bag to the next flight. My nightmare is that their flights seem to run late!
You do not have to go through security or Customs in Newark. There is no US Customs when leaving the US and both of your flights will be in Terminal C so you just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time if the flight from DFW is on-time.
Zap, ok, a few days after I bought the plane ticket, did I realize that 55 min layover was not a good choice to have picked that flight itinerary, even though the time for me to leave DFW makes it more convenient...thank you!.
im travelling
MAD-EWR terminal B (united)
EWR terminal A-yvr (air Canada)
One reservation.
will i need to collect luggage?
will i be able to use "inside security" shuttle...or do i need to allow for going thru security in Newark?
You will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, take the AirTrain to Terminal A and go through security.
How much time do I need to go through above?
Hi. I am flying with United from BWI with to Manchester, UK, using express jet DBA United Express to change at EWR. There is stopover of 1hr 24 mins. Is this enough time to connect flights & do you know which terminals I would need to change from and to please? How do I change terminals also please? Many thanks.
You will arrive in Terminal A or C and depart from Terminal C. If you arrive in A, United runs a shuttle bus inside security to C. You should have enough time.
Hello, I'm flying from San José Costa Rica to Munich via Newark with 95mn connection. Apparently I will arrive at TC with united and depart with lufthansa at TB. I booked my ticket on 1 reservation. United seems to say on website that I don't need to get back my checked in luggage. Is it true? Or do I need to go through immigration? Thanks for your help!
You will go through US immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, take the AirTrain to Terminal B and go through security. This is a very difficult connection but not impossible.
Also, there's a fairly good chance your flight from Costa Rica will actually arrive in B.
Thanks for your answer.
So it means that I need an ESTA as I am french citizen to go through immigration? If the 1st flight arrives in B it should give me more chance to succeed as it will be the same terminal.
Yes, you will need ESTA. Yes, if the first flight arrives in B that will save you some time.
I am flying into Newark from LAX and have a 1 hour 45 minute layover before leaving for Tel Aviv. Both flights are on United. I have a Global Entry pass which hopefully will help me through immigration. Is this enough connection time?
There is no US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Newark on your way to Tel Aviv is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.
Thank you. Will I need to take a shuttle or tram from Terminal A or C to International terminal B, or is it walkable?
Both of your flights will be in Terminal C.
Thank you, you've made my day!
Just wondering what the situation is when arriving into Terminal B from Dublin with Aer Lingus and getting to a connecting flight at Terminal C with United to San Francisco. We will go through Immigration before leaving Ireland but will we need to collect baggage and go through security again or can we just go straight to Terminal C? We have 90 minutes so we're just a little worried about time. Thanks for your help!
No, you will not have to claim your bags in Newark if everything is on the same reservation. You can go directly to Terminal C.
Thank you so much. Will we need to go through security?
Yes, I believe you will, the concourse Aer Lingus uses does not have shuttle service from United, so you'll have to take the AirTrain to Terminal C and go through security.
