  • should we sky check our luggage
    Feb 3, 2016
I, we are flying from Halifax to Newark connecting to LA. We only have 51 min connection with a baby. If we are sky checking our stroller how long we will wait for it at the gate and is it faster with the bus or the sky train from terminal A to C with United.

Take the bus. if you take the train then you have to go through security again in Terminal C, which you don't have time to do.

  • Changing terminals
    Feb 3, 2016
Hi I flying from Ottawa today to Ediburgh via EWR. My flight arrives at 19:00 at terminal A and my connection leaves at 19:50 from Terminal C. United assured me when I purchased the ticket that this was a valid connection and I would not miss my connecting flight. Do you have any advice on changing terminal quickly?

United operates a shuttle bus inside security from Terminal A to Terminal C. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Ottawa. If your flight from Ottawa arrives on-time you can make it.

  • Hong Kong - EWR - Pittsburgh only 1 hr 45 mins for transit
    Feb 2, 2016
I'm looking for the flight from Hong Kong to Pittsburgh which need to transit in EWR Newark Airport. Is 1 hr 45 mins enough time? The flight from Hong Kong to EWR is operated by United Airline, and the flight from EWR to Pittsburgh operated by Republic Airlines dba United Express, that means I need to go from which terminal to which one? If I missed the flight for late arrival of the international flight, will the airline arrange me to take the next flight to Pittsburgh accordingly? Your help please. Thanks.

You will arrive in terminal B or C and depart from Terminal A or C. You have barely enough time if everything goes smoothly. If you miss your connection you will be rebooked on the next available flight to Pittsburgh.

  • Brussels- Newark - Jacksonville 2 hours enough?
    Feb 2, 2016
Coming from Brussels to Newark tomorrow. HAve to go on to Jacksonville both connections are United. Not sure what to do when I get to Newark and if my 2 hours is enough. Can you help? Thank you.

You will arrive in Terminal B, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk. Then take the AirTrain to your departure terminal (likely A), and go through security and to your departure gate. 2 Hours is just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • Terminal C to B in 1h 05m?
    Feb 1, 2016
Hello, I am connecting through EWR on Feb 12, but a little worried if transit time is long enough. I'm landing in terminal C at 4.25pm with UA from San Francisco, and departing 5.30pm from terminal B with SAS to Copenhagen, which leaves only 1h 5m to change terminals on a Friday afternoon. Is that enough?

That should be enough time. There is a shuttle bus inside security that connects Terminal C with the SAS gates in Terminal B.

You will arrive in terminal B, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US customs, re-check your bags at the recheck desk, then take the airtrain to terminal C and go through security and to your departure gate.

  • Connecting flight

Hello, I am traveling from LAX to ewr on United and I land at 225pm at terminal C. I think have a connecting flight to Mumbai on Airindia from terminal B at 5pm. Is 2.5 hours enough time to collect my bags, change terminals and go through security?

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • do I have enough time
    Jan 30, 2016
I arrive in EWR from Charlotte with UA and I have 2 hours to catch my flight to Frankfurth. I have to change from terminal C to Terminal B. Do I have to undergo security check agani? Is 2 hours enough time? Do I have to pick-up my luggage and re-check it again? Thank you

United operates a shuttle bus inside security from Terminal C to the Lufthansa gates in Terminal B. You don't have to do anything with your luggage. You have plenty of time.

i will be arriving into newark on american airlines from norfolk virgina, before booking the ticket, it tells me i will have to change terminals for my flight from newark to cancun mexico. can you tell me how hard this is? my lay over is 2 hours 3 minutes i have never flown into this air port before

American Airlines does not fly from Norfolk to Newark. Please double check your itinerary.

    correction- united airlines

If both flights are on United that should be enough time. You can easily change terminals in 2 hours. There is even a bus that runs inside security.

I am a US citizen flying in from Mexico on United at 6:30 and will need to go through customs and then I have to catch a British Airways flight to Paris from Terminal B I believe. Will I make it?

I can't tell you if you have enough time unless you let me know what itme your flight to Paris departs.

  • luggage transfer
    Jan 27, 2016
hi iam travelling from newark airport to trana through frankfurt with united airlines and from from newark to frankfurt and from frankfurt to tirana with adria airlines. i boked the ticket with expedita because there are two diferent air lines that im travelling with i dont know if i need to take my luggages at frankfurt and check in again or will they transfer it for me and i will take it in tirana ?

Since everything is on the same reservation and United and Adria are partners, your bags should be checked through to Tirana. You won't have to do anything with them in Frankfurt.

  • do i need to go threw immigration?
    Jan 21, 2016
Hi! I am not U.S. citizen holding C1 transit visa. Travelling from Beijing to Colombia with a layover in Newark airport. Arriving to terminal B, next flight is departing from terminal C. Do I need to go through the US immigration when changing the terminal?

Yes, when you arrive you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US customs then recheck your bags at the recheck desk then take the airtrain to terminal C if you did not arrive there, then go through security and to your departure gate.

I believe my luggage should go directly. Do I still need to go thru immigration customs that way? I have transit visa C1 only for one entry. If I go thru customs on the way to Colombia, will it be stamped and will I have issues on the return flight, as I have to go thru US again?

Your luggage will not go directly and you will go through all the steps I just outlined. If your C1 visa is only for one entry you will have to get another one when you are in Colombia if you want to return through the US.
