  • Connecting flight change....

I had booked a flight from Birmingham (UK) BHX to EWR with a connecting flight to MCO for this Summer both arriving and departing in the same Terminal (I think). I have now had a connecting flight change (by UA without us knowing) but I don't know what terminal this flies from. I arrive on UA26 and connect to UA1027, this has a longer wait time in between, which I can live with, but I am now concerned about customs, baggage claim etc. and what I exactly need to do when I arrive in order to board the next flight.... wherever it departs from! any ideas? Thanks :)

You will arrive in Terminal B or C, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk. If you arrived at Terminal B you will take the AirTrain to Terminal C. Then go through security and to your departure gate in Terminal C. The minimum time to do this is 90 minutes but I recommend about 2 hours.

Hi, my husband is traveling from AMS to SFO with a connecting flight at EWR. Flight from AMS was delayed by 2.5 hours. He arrives EWR at 2:24pm and flight to SFO is at 3pm. Does he have to go through immigration at EWR? If he is not able to make his connecting flight to SFO what does he have to do? There is only one booking for this flight, and it's a united flight. Thanks.

Yes, in EWR he will have to go through US Immigration, claim his bags, go through US Customs, then re-check his bag at the transfer desk, then go through security. He will be rebooked on a later flight to San Francisco. In fact, if you log in to his itinerary on United.com you can probably see if he already has.

Hi, my plane with United airlines from Oslo/Norway is delayed. I'm arriving terminal c Newark liberty at 16:00. My plane to port Columbus (via Charlotte ) has departure 17:25 at terminal a. I guess i have to pick up my luggage. Do i have enough time? How can I Get to terminal A fastest?

You may actually arrive in Terminal B. The only way from Terminal B or C to A is the AirTrain. You will have a very hard time making this.

Hi, my son comes in on an American flight at 9:03 and has a departing international flight out of terminal B on a different airline. What is the quickest way for him to accomplish this? Can you confirm that he has to claim his luggage and go through security again.

What airport? Were his tickets purchased separately or together? What is the second airline?

Flying from Chicago to Newark on AA arriving 9:03. Outbound flight is Et Al and leaves at 1:30 and no they were not purchased together.

Yes, he will have to claim his bags in Terminal A, then take them on the AIrTrain to Terminal B and check them at the El Al check-in counter. He should have enough time.

Going to Copenhagen on 5/28; arriving at EWR on Southwest 3487 at 15:55 at Terminal A - Carry on luggage only. SAS just changed my flight to a 17:40 departure. Can we make it? how to go from one terminal to other, any help will be appreciated,

With carry-on only you should be OK if your Southwest flight is on-time. The AirTrain connects terminals A and B outside security.

Hi, I'm flying Buffalo-Vienna with a connection in Newark. I have a 1hr 40min layover but have to change terminals from C to B. Both flights are bought on the same reservation. Will I have to pick up and recheck my luggage? Do you think that is enough time? Thank you!

Also forgot to mention that the first flight is with UA and the second with Austrian Airlines.

You will not have to pick up your luggage. You just have to take the AirTrain from Terminal C to Terminal B and go through security.

We arrive in EWR at 12.15pm flying with UA. Our connecting flight to MCO also with UA is at 2.30pm. I understand that we will have to collect and recheck bags, but could anyone tell me which terminal we will be flying into/out of and let me know if this is enough time. Thanks

Where are you flying from? Can't help you much without that info.

What airport? BA does not use terminal B in DFW. Please be more specific about your itinerary.

HI, I fly from Vienna via EWR to TPA on monday June 1st. My Lufthansa flight arrives in EWR at 1:45pm and connecting flight is at 5:47pm. I guess need to change terminal from B to C, but I think I should have enough time? As I know, after immigration I need to collect my luggage, go through customs and then I need to check in luggage again. Is it really a new check at a counter (meaning do I need to queue), or is it like in Washington that you just yourself drop your luggage on a belt after clearing customs? And do you have any insider tips for quick passing of immigration? Thanks. Oliver

forgot, my connection flight is with United and I think it is all,on one ticket (at least I only have one e-ticket number)

You should have plenty of time. There is a re-check counter right after you exit customs. Since people are just dropping off their bags that are already tagged, it is usually pretty quick. You will then take the AirTrain from B to C and go through security. Again, 4 hours is a ton of time.

    Tx for answer!

I have an upcoming trip which takes me from SFO to mumbai by way of EWR. The itinerary is all United on same ticket , but there is a plane change in EWR in same terminal C . Will I go thru customs when I leave SFO or am I supposed to do that in-between flights in EWR? I don't know any gate assignments yet.

You do not go through US Customs when you leave the US. You will go through Indian Immigration and Customs when you get to India. All you have to do in Newark is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

i am arriving at EWR on a flight from Zurich in Terminal B at 1.20 pm and then i have a connecting flight on United to Binghamton at 2.50 pm from terminal C......do u think i will be able to make it on time and catch the next flight under 90 min after undergoing the customs and security processes.

That is the bare minimum allowed for that type of connection. It's possible, but it depends on your flight from Zurich being on-time and there being no delays at immigration or security.

United have changed our flight times leaving us 90 minutes to transfer between planes. Our flight from san francisco arrives at newark at18.00.and we need to connect to manchester uk departing at 19.30.do we have enough time?

Yes, that is plenty of time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal C.

thanks so much for the reassurance

from Terminal A to C in 1 hour? Do I have to walk or is there a tram?

United runs a shuttle inside security between their gates in A and C. The AirTrain also runs outside security between A and C. It's not a practical walk.

We are travelling from Mco to ewr with an onward flight to Manchester UK. Untied have changed the time of the Mco to EWR flight leaving a connection time of 55 minutes. My question is will I make my connecting flight baring in mind we have 3 kids 2 strollers and a car seat!! I have asked untied if I could go on the EWR to Manchester flight the next day and I would pay for a hotel overnight but they want to charge me for the flight change. Thank you in advance for any advice

As long as your flight from Orlando is on-time you should have plenty of time. All you have to do in Newark is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal C.

flying from glasgow to newark, will i have enough time to make a connection and re-check my bags? checkin in closes 45 mins before departure

Assuming you purchased your tickets together on United, you will be checked in for both flights together in Glasgow. You can re-check your bags at the transfer desk right after clearing customs. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.
