Hi. I'm hoping to get some idea how long it might take to go through the immigration and customs on arrival at EWR. I will be traveling from LHR on a non-US passport, arriving around 3:30 pm on Thursday this week and am hoping to catch a 5pm greyhound bus from the Newark Bus Station (will uber from EWR for a 10-15 min ride). Thanks!
I think it will be fairly difficult for you to make that bus.
I'm flying from Heathrow to Dulles and I'm a non-US resident, I have a 1 hour 55 minute stop at Newark. I've never had a connecting flight, would this be enough time? Also, what do you have to do on a connecting flight?
If both flights are on united/United Express, in Newark you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then take the AirTrain to your departure terminal if it's different from your arrival terminal, then go through security and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Hi, I'm flying ex DUS to CMH and am connecting through Newark Liberty. The schedule to arrive in EWR at 2 p.m. and leaving to CMH 4:10 p.m. (connection offered through airline (Lufthansa). is that connection time sufficient? Thanks!
Yes, that should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Hi. I'm not a Us citiz3n, flying from Bogota to Rome with 90 min connection at Newark. Is it enough time and could you guide me on how should I proceed once I land in Newark
Realistically that's not enough time. You will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk if they are tagged to Rome or at the check-in desk if they aren't, then possibly change terminals, then go through security and to your departure gate.
Thanks for your quick reply. Bags should be tagged to Rome as the flight is with United all the time, we don't have to change terminal, the flight was bought BOG-ROM and United tells me is a valid connection. Do you think is still risky to have this ticket?
You will still have to claim your bags to take them through US Customs in Newark. It is a valid connection but just barely. It is risky. There is also a fair chance you could arrive in Terminal B and depart from Terminal C, which requires a terminal change, obviously.
Hello. I am considering booking a trip arriving in Newark with Avianca from SAL at 14:40 and then taking another SAS flight from EWR to CPH at 17:35. Booking can't be done combined so it has to be done separately. Is 3 hours enough time to do inmigration (non US citizen), claim baggage, go to SAS counter, check in, go through security screening and board on time? Thanks for your help!
That is just enough time if everything goes perfectly.
