Do I have to pass the customs and got the baggage to get the connection to Jacksonville or the connections between Terminal B and C is direct and will pass the customs in Jacksonville? Thanks in advance
Yes, in Newark you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, take the AirTrain to your departure terminal and go through security and to your departure gate.
I'm flying from Dublin, Ireland to Vancouver via EWR, we're landing from Dublin in T-B with Aer Lingus but taking off to Vancouver from Terminal A with Air Canada. Do we need any sort of US visa to go from one terminal to the other or is there direct access for connections? Thanks
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Dublin. If you need a US visa to enter the US, you will need a US Transit visa to board your flight in Dublin. What is your citizenship?
UA CHS-EWR (Arrive TC) to AC EWR-YYZ (Depart TA) -2hr layover. Will I be able to make my connection on time? Is it possible to use bus shuttle from TC to TA, exit and later pass security to gate A11 or must I exit secure area in TC to take AirTran to TA and pass security to gate A11? Thanks.
That is just enough time. The shuttle bus to Terminal A does not go to the Air Canada satellite so you have to take the AirTrain to TA and go through security there. You have enough time if everything goes smoothly.
We arrive on a United flight from MCO to EWR at 17:00 in Terminal C, and depart from Terminal C at 17:45 (on another United flight booked together) for the UK. I assume that as our luggage is going directly to the UK we will have passed through International security in MCO, so we'll just need to get to our Gate. Is that correct? What's the longest distance (in time) between gates? Thanks.
There is no "International Security". But yes, all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate in Newark. The walk shouldn't be more than 10-15 minutes.
I land in Newark on April 16 at 7:15 pm on Ethiopian Airlines ET508 from Africa. I'm on a flight on a separate booking form Newark to Toornto on Porter Airlines PD 144 leaving at 8:30 ppm. I believe I land and depart from Terminal B. I will only have carry-on luggage. Will I have to leave security and go through customs, exit, and check back in? Or will I be able to stay in the terminal. Thanks!
Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags with Porter, go through security and to your departure gate. You do not have enough time to make that connection. Plan on spending the night in Newark.
I won't have any checked bags. Only carry on. Will I still have to go through US immigration to exit and check back in? customs for the Porter flight is in Toronto, not the US.
Yes, you will still have to go through US Immigration and Customs in Newark. You will not make it.
We have a very tight connection between UA 24 (USA pre-cleared in SNN) to a AC 7655. Do we leave the secure area when changing terminals if pre-cleared for the USA? on a Saturday, if that matters.
You do have to leave the secure area because The Air Canada gates are not connected to the United gates inside security, not for any immigration procedures.
Ah. I thought they shuttled between terminals securely. So is there hope that we be able to make it in 50 minute?
I have found out that we don't do any immigration clearing there, but on arrival in Canada. Does that keep us within the secure area?
The shuttle that United runs from Terminal C to A goes to the United Express pier of Terminal A, which is not connected inside security to Air Canada's Pier in Terminal A (Terminal A is an old building). That is why you have to leave the secure area.
I am landing in Newark at 7:35 on United 3670. Next flight is United 1514 at 9:05. Is 1:35 enough time if everything is on scedule. I didn't know if I would have to collect bags and go to security again.
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If your flight arrives in A, there is a shuttle inside security to Terminal C.
My wife is already nervous flying United tomorrow, but now I see she only has 43 minutes from landing at Gate A24A and then her connecting flight leaving from Gage C103Y. Should she be also nervous about even catching her connection?
Yes, that is a difficult connection. United runs a shuttle from their gates in A to C inside security but even with that everything will have to go perfectly for her to make it.
I am traveling internationally to Boston, but connects in Newark. I found Newark would be closer. Is it possible to purposely miss the last segment and get out from Newark. I will be entering US customs so I assume I will have access to my luggage at Newark. Thanks!
If it is the last segment of your itinerary, yes, you can claim your bags in Newark, rip the tags off and leave the airport after you clear customs.
