  • Shuttle from terminal C to B
    Nov 26, 2014
Hi, Nest month, we are taking international flight from terminal B. We will arrive terminal C in domestic flight. Is there a shuttle bus we can take from C to B to avoid security checkin again at terminal B?

United does have a shuttle bus from C to B.

  • 55 min connection terminal C1 and C3
    Nov 26, 2014
I'm flying into Newark on a Wednesday arriving at 8:15am into C3 and out of C1 55 minutes later. I'm very nervous as it looks on the map as though there are security checkpoints in terminal C between 1 and 3. Can you tell me if there are securitiy checkpoints between C1 and C3, if Wednesday mornings tend to be congested and if 55 minutes seems like a doable connection? The next flight leaving to our destination wouldn't be until the next day.

All gates in C are connected inside security. You should have enough time.

  • International flight with a connecting flight at EWR
    Nov 24, 2014
Hi! I'll be flying from Stockholm to Newark for a connecting flight to Nashville on Sunday. My flight will arrive at terminal B 12.10 pm, and I hear Sunday afternoons are amongst the busiest times to travel. My connecting flight leaves from terminal C at 3.20 pm, but in between, I've got to go through passport control, pick up my back, go through US customs check and check my bag again, get to my next terminal and go through security at the next terminal and find my gate. I've travelled to the States three times before and it's gone well, however this is the first time with a layover in NY. Is it going to be enough time with 3 hours and 10 minutes? I've previously had a delayed flight and had to stay overnight in Toronto to wait for a new scheduled flight the next morning, and gosh do I want to avoid that situation again.

    Pick up my bag*

Yes, that should be plenty of time.

  • arrival procedures

Flying from London Ontario Canada to Orlando Feb,1st 2015 arriving at Newark @7.29 AM terminal "A" with a connecting flight to Orlando @ 10.AM terminal "C". This will be my first time in the Newark airport, can anyone tell me what the procedure would be after arriving at terminal "A".

Since London, Ontario does not have US Immigration preclearance, your flight from YXU will arrive in Terminal C. You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go to the departure level and through security and to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.

  • Terminal B to C
    Nov 23, 2014
Me and my girlfriend are lying from Oslo and landing in Newark terminal B and we have 1h32min to get to terminal C and we know that we need to pick up our luggage and leave it to the next place. Is it possible for that short time? We were told we will need to run all the time :)

Yes, that's about right, it's possible but it depends on your first flight being on-time and being as quick as possible.

Hi. I will be traveling in United Airlines from London to Newark flight UA45 and then get a connection in 85 mins to Panama flight- i think i must change terminals also. who knows more about this.

That is a difficult but maybe possible connection. Is that the earliest possible flight from London?

Hi All, appreciate your help. We are flying to Costa Rica via EWR with a 1 year old on United. we have 4 respectively 3 hours transfer time in EWR. Any views on whether this should be enough? Are there any playing areas or other children facilities in EWR? thanks...

If you arrive at EWR from a US Airport you would arrive with United at either Terminals B or C; and your departure would be in Terminal C (TC). (If arriving from overseas, you would also need to go through go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and re-check-in your bags before proceeding to your connecting terminal/ gate.) If you need to transfer to another terminal, board the Airtrain, but you need to go through security check at connecting terminal before proceeding to your gate. Your transfer time is quite sufficient.

HI, thanks for your reply. We are coming from an overseas UA flight. Do you know about any children facilities as well? thanks,

  • Enough time between flights from PTY - EWR to ARN?
    Nov 22, 2014
Our flight from PTY will land 3.20 pm United and our flight to Stockholm, ARN with SAS departs at 5.55 pm. Is there enough time and some extra time for some delays as well?

we are traveling from canada to dallas on United all the way-changing planes at Newark at 1130 am ---will 2 hours 15 minutes be enough time? we are seniors and not accustomed to that airport so we have no idea of different terminals--can someone give us any advice--since we are not as fast as we once were--sorry to post as a reply but it wouldnt send as a new post

Both of you have plenty of time.

  • Guatemala to Newark to Heathrow
    Nov 12, 2014
Doing this on 6th December with United, is 1hr 45 min enough time for the connection. Also will I have to change terminals ?

You will arrive in Terminal B or C, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, Then, if you arrive in Terminal C you will go up to the departure level and through security. If you arrive in Terminal B you will take the AirTrain to Terminal C and go through security. You have enough time if your first flight is on-time but it doesn't leave much time to spare for delays.

    Thanks for that

  • travelling sfo to mumbai via newark
    Nov 11, 2014
Hello I am travelling to mumbai via newark from sfo. I have a morning flight at 8.20 with a layover of 4 hrs. i need to know whether I will be starting my international journey from SFO itself or I need to recheck in Newark again. Again I'll be travelling back from mumbai to SFO two weeks later with the same way with 2 hrs connecting time.I need to know how much time is needed for connecting in Newark to SFO flight considering have to complete the formalilties for Advance Parole in Newark. Thnks.

On your way to Mumbai all you have to do in Newark is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Your connection times are long enough.

thank you I need to know is 2 hrs time enough at Newark airport to catch my connecting flight for SFO on my return journey. I have to complete Advance Parole formalities. those take a tad bit longer if there is long wait. I am not sure of Newark airport. SFO has quite a crowd hence was concerned.

Yes, that should be enough time. If you do miss your connection it is not that bad because United has lots of other EWR-SFO flights throughout the day.

  • Terminal B to C
    Nov 10, 2014
My Mom's flight is from Terminal B (Air India 4.30pm) and My Flight is from Terminal C (United 6.45pm). I want help my Mom to board flight, can i enter Terminal B and then go to Terminal C ?

Yes, you should be able to. United has a shuttle bus that leaves from the B3 concourse to Terminal C. I don't know which concourse Air India uses.

    Thank you so much

  • Connections in Newark - do i have to go through security again
    Nov 9, 2014
I am connecting in Newark to a domestic flight. I originated in Halifax, but cleared U.S. customs and immigration there. Do I have to go through security again to make the connection.

No, you won't have to go through security as long as, if you have to change terminals, you use the United shuttle bus instead of the Airtrain.

  • Connection times for Memphis
    Nov 7, 2014
I am flying from London Heathrow to Memphis via Newark. I booked with United Airlines via an agent. I have 1 hour 45 minutes. The Agent says my suitcase is checked-in through to Memphis. My family says different and that 1 hour 45 minutes is nowhere near enough to collect my bag, do customs/immigration/passport control, re check-in my bag, go through security, change terminals. I fear they may be right but need more info before going back to the airline/agent. Any help appreciated.

Your travel agent is wrong, however, 1 hr 45 minutes may be enough time but is definitely pushing it. You will arrive in Terminal B or C, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then you will take the Airtrain to your departure terminal, likely Terminal A, and go through security.

I am leaving toronto airport on 12th of nov by air canada and taking a connecting flight to zurich by swiss air. the time between the flights is 96 mins. is it enough to board the next flight? also do i have to recheck my baggage at newark airport? i am too stressed out as i am travelling with my 4 yr old son. thanks in advance

You will pre-clear US Immigration in Toronto. If you purchased a single reservation you will not have to do anything with your bags in Newark. You will, however, have to exit Terminal A where you will arrive and take the AirTrain to Terminal B and go through security.

  • enough time for connection?
    Oct 26, 2014
i'm flying in from denver to newark and connecting in a different terminal to fly to copenhagen. are my bags checked all the way through or do i have to collect them and recheck for the international flight. i have 1 1/2 hrs or 3 hours for the connection, depending on which flight i suggest. is an 1 1/2 hrs enough time and what about the baggage?

If you did not book both flights on one ticket, or used 2 airlines which do not belong to the same Alliance, or do not code-share - you would need to pick up your bags & re-check them in with the second airline. You may also have to transfer to another terminal, depending on the airlines you take, which necessitates taking the Airtrain & going through security check again. Open www.ifly.com/ewr, click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS, & scroll down to the detailed text for more info.

If you are buying the tickets together on United and SAS you won't have to do anything with your bags in Newark on your way to Copenhagen.
