  • is 1 hour10 enough time?

I'm flying from IAD-EWR-MAN all with United Airlines and have a 1h10mn connection time, is this going to be enough? Will I have to go through any security again in EWR?

No you do not have to go through security. You will arrive in Terminal A or C and depart from C. If you arrive in A, United runs a shuttle bus inside security to C. You should have enough time.

So I arrive in Newark in terminal A and have to go to B for my flight out to sweden. I know I have to take the Airtrain to get to it but where is the Airtrain located? Will I be able to find it easily?

There are plenty of signs for the AirTrain. Also United runs a shuttle bus inside security from their gates in A to the gates that SAS uses in B.

Thank you so much! I didn't know that! Are there plenty of signs for that too? I've never flown before so I'm trying to figure out all this stuff beforehand

Flying from Chicago to Munich via EWR, Chicago to EWR is United, and EWR to Munich is Lufhansa, layover at EWR is 1 hour 55 mins, tickets purchased thru Lufhtansa, will i have to go thru customs at EWR or re-check bags and is the time enough? it says Chicago to EWR arrive on Terminal C and EWR to Munich depart Terminal B

There is no US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US. You just have to take the United shuttle bus from C to B and to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.

    Thank you

  • Is there a shuttle from terminal A to terminal B?

I am flying from CLT-EWR-OSL and need to transfer from Terminal A (American Airlines) to Terminal B (SAS). Can I do this without having to go through security again?

No, you can't. The shuttle that United runs uses a different satellite of Terminal A than your American Airlines flight will arrive at. You will have to take the AirTrain and go through security again.

Ok-- how much time do you estimate it will take? i have a 2 hour layover. Thank you.

What time does the TA&TC shuttles stop/start?

As far as I know they operate whenever there are still United departures, so probably 5 AM to Midnight.

Thanks for the prompt reply. On my return journey from Costa Rica to London with United, I will be transiting through Houston instead of Newark . Is the procedure the same there?

Actually, going through Houston you will not have to claim your bags, but you still have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security.

Next month I will be flying from London to Costa Rica with a stop of about two hours at Newark. Both flights will be with United. Will I have to claim my baggage and then check it in again?

Yes, in London you will arrive, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go to Terminal C if you arrived in Terminal B, and go through security and to your departure gate.

Sorry, I meant In Newark and also that should be enough time.

  • Is 1h35 enough time to change planes?

I'm looking at flights from Costa Rica to the UK. There is one option that arrives from UK at 8.25pm and leaves at 10pm giving a 1h35 to change planes. Is this enough? Will i have to change terminals, collect baggage inbetween etc? Really don't want to miss the flight!

It's barely enough time if everything goes smoothly. If there are any issues you will be stuck in Newark overnight. You will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags, and go through security in Newark.

Hello, I am flying to DC via Newark on Friday from Madrid. Do I need to take my baggage and drop it at the United counter once I have landed in NY? Also, I arrive to Terminal B but my flight to DC departs from Terminal A, how do I get there? Thank you!

You will arrive, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk immediately after, then take the AirTrain to your departure terminal and through security.

Arriving on a Wednesday morning from Halifax on a United flight, depart for Antigua 51 minutes later. Both are in terminal A. Is this enough time? United changed our flight times, they say that we have plenty of time.

Your flight to Antigua will depart from Terminal C, not A. You have barely enough time. You will preclear US immigration and customs in Halifax. In Newark you will take a shuttle bus inside security between terminals A and C.

I'm flying from Toronto(YYZ) to Beijing (PEK), I need to transfer in EWR. When I arrive at EWR, do I need to get my baggage and re check in again? Because. I only have 55 minutes between the two flights, kind of worried.

You will preclear US immigration and customs in Toronto. You don't have to do anything with your bags in Newark. You have just enough time to make your connection.

I arrive at Newark on 6th jan at 16:15 from Frankfurt. I have United flight to Vegas at 17:59. I am from Poland so I have to pass through visa immigration desk. Will I have enough time to make it not to miss the united flight. What to do after passing immigration to save time. Thank tou

That should be barely enough time. Just move as quickly as you can.

Thank you. I arrive with lufthansa. What shiuld i do after passing immigration? As i know united us in terminal 3 or c . How about luggage?

What about luggage if i travel by lufthansa and then by united. Where i should rechecked baggage. What about boarding card. I travel on one ticket so i should have it printed at first airport where i started trip

You will arrive in terminal B, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US customs, re-check your bags at the recheck desk immediately after, then take the airtrain to terminal C and go through security. You will be issued both boarding passes in Frankfurt.

Thank you . Can i ask someone to help me to get through immigration if the queue was too long?

No, most of the passengers going through immigration are connecting, you can't cut the line.

    Thank you Zap

Flying from Zurich to Newark (Swiss) arrival terminal B at 13:50 and having a connection flight from terminal C to Costa Rica (United)at 17:20. I know details in B as follows: US immigration, claiming bag and US customs. Do I re-check my baggage at United desk in Terminal B or Terminal C? in B or C at United deskWhat about my baggage I have to re-check my bag again in terminal B or in terminal C? How I get the fastest way from B to C and how long does it take? And what are the details in C?

You will recheck at the recheck desk right after customs in terminal B. You will then take the airtrain to terminal C which takes 5-10 minutes.

And in T C do I have only go through security and and then to gate?

    Yes

    Thanks a lot

Arrive from BHX to EWR Terminal B at 12:20 Depart EWR Terminal C at 14:40 to MCO Do I need to collect my baggage and re check if so how does that work. Return leg of my trip is from Buffalo arrives at EWR Terminal A at 15:18 my connecting flight is 19:15 from Terminal C Will i have to collect my bags? or are they checked through from buffalo? And what is the easiest way from a to c Thank you for your help from one very nervous lady lol

On your way to Orlando in Newark you will arrive in terminal B go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US customs, re-check your bags at the recheck desk then take the airtrain to terminal C, go through security and to your gate. On your way back to Birmingham in Newark you will take the United shuttle bus from A to C, you don't have to do anything with your bags.

I am flying for Mumbai to Kansas City Jet Airways - delta (BOM to AMS to EWR) and connecting flight from EWR is United airline. I have a layover of 16 hrs in Newark. I plan to go out of the airport. Will I get my bags after custom or it will get transferred through? and if getting them back, can I recheck them prior to leaving airport or I need to check bags the next day? Thanks a lot.

You will claim your bags to go through US customs. You will probably have to wait until the next day to recheck them.
