Hi - I arrive at terminal A via air Canada and my friends arrive via Lufthansa at terminal B shortly after me. I am suppose to meet them there - is that possible? Best advice to get there?

Yes, you could take the AirTrain from A to B and meet them on the lower level at the exit of customs.

  • Connecting Flight to IAH

My parents are flying to EWR from MAD (Spain), they then have a flight to IAH. I am worried because they don't know English, is there any kind of assisstance to go between terminals, also they are over 65 yrs. old, please help!!!

It will not hard for them to find Spanish speaking assistance in Newark. It may not be in an accent they're used to but Newark handles lots of Spanish speaking passengers.

I arrive at terminal B from London and have connecting flight to Fort Myers from terminal C 4 hours later. I plan to meet my step daughter for lunch when I arrive. is it best to meet her at terminal C where I assume I have to check in for connecting flight? Will I have enough time? Thank you for your help

You should have enough time. You would probably want to meet her at the exit of customs in Terminal B.

    thank you. that is reassuring.

I'm leaving from Houston to Newark then connecting to a flight to Berlin, Germany, is 1 hr 50 min enough time and do I have to leave the area to get my connecting flight, and do I need to get my luggage first? I'm nervous as I'll be traveling alone.

On your way to Europe all you have to do in Newark is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Both will be in Terminal C. If your first flight is on-time you'll have plenty of time.

  • Transfer from Terminal A to C

Hi I am booking a flight from Knoxville to Glasgow with united and my domestic flight arrives at Newark in terminal A and I need to connect to terminal c for the flight to Glasgow. We have a layover of 4 hours. Is there an opportunity to go outside to have a smoke or do I need to stay within the airport? thanks for any feedback.

Yes, you can exit security in Terminal A, find a place where smoking is allowed, then make your way to the AirTrain and take it to Terminal C. You will then have to go through security in Terminal C so make sure you have your boarding passes and ID with you when you do this.

By mistake I think I posted the following in the wrong forum..January 10, 2015 flying YWG - YYZ - EWR arriving EWR on AC (United 8202) at 1035 PM. Connecting next morning January 11, 2015 at 9:04 AM to United 1040 travelling to AUA. All ticketed on United. I am aware of US immigration and customs procedures in YYZ. My question is - will my bags be checked through to AUA or will I need to gather them in Newark for the night and check them at United counter in the morning? We have booked a room at the Marriott at the airport. Thanks, Jim

There are no public mailboxes located within the terminal areas of the airport.

  • yqb-->ewr-->hkg...customs in us?

I'm going from Quebec city (no preclearance) to Hong Kong with a connection through Newark. Do I need to pass through customs in the US, even though my final destination is Hong Kong? I want to make sure I have enough layover time to make my connection. Thanks.

Yes, you will have to pass through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, and re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security. Leave at least 2 hours.

  • Transfer procedure

We are flying form Glasgow to Newark with United Airline and 9 hours later catching connecting flight on same ticket from Newark to Miami. What is procedure for this? Will we have to get bags, clear customs and re-check in? Can we leave airport and what is best way to spend the time. Thanks

You can but I'd stay at the airport in case there's a problem.

Yes, you will arrive in Terminal B or C, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then you are free to leave. However, there is really not much near the Newark Airport. Taking the AirTrain and NJT into the city will take about an hour each way, and you will have to be back at the airport an hour before your next flight. So that realistically only leaves you a few hours in the city if you choose to go there. Your flight to Miami will depart from Terminal C.

Im traveling from London to Panama in a connecting United flight. just have 85 minutes to do everything: Customs, Passport. change terminal. No bags to pick or recheck What do you think, am I going to make it.

I think it's barely enough time if your first flight is on-time.

No way! You need a lot more time then that!!

  • Travelling Delhi to Orlando

My family is Travelling from Delhi to Orlando with united. I believe their immigration will be at EWR. Wats the transfer process . Do they collect their bags 1st n then do immigration or vice versa. Will they again have to recheck their bags at counter n do security again . How far are the gates of arrival n departure. Would they need to take a tram ? Thanks

At EWR, United uses Terminals B & C (TB, TC) for its international flights - both terminals have their own customs procedures (go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag). United uses for its departures TC (United Express uses both TA & TC). After baggage re-check-in, she needs to take the AirTrain (follow signs) to TC - but needs to go through security check before proceeding to the connecting C gate.

  • Which is the best to take shuttle or air train from terminal c to a

I'm flying in from Ireland and I'm nervous that I will miss my connecting flight

Since you will pre-clear US Immigration in Ireland you will arrive inside the secure area and should take the shuttle.

I have booked a flight from Birmingham to Orlando, with a connection through Newark. I am flying on one ticket. The time between flights is 1hr 15 mins will I make it?! My travel advisor in the UK told me that it is sold through United Airlines and is definitely do-able. Help!

EDIT hi this is the return journey part of my holiday. Orlando international to Newark lands and I have just over an hour to catch my Newark to Birmingham flight.... Is there enough time??

On the return trip it will be very doable as you do not go through US Customs or immigration when you leave the US - you will just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate in EWR.

    Phew!! Thank you :)
