Hi, I'm traveling from ATL to EWR (on United) .. and then EWR to MUM (India) on Air India ... bought as 1 ticket. Am asking for wheelchair assistance. Have 2 Checked Bags. Will I be required to claim my bags at EWR and re-check? Will I have to take Train/Monorail to get from Terminal C to Terminal B, or is there some internal connection/shuttle from C to B? Will I have to go through security check again at EWR?

Non US citizen travelling from Mumbai to Newark to Atlanta. Intl Arriving BOM-EWR in Terminal C United Airlines Domestic Departing EWR-ATL in Terminal C United Airlines Looks like the bags have to be picked up after immigration, clear customs and then re-checked for the domestic UA EWR-ATL ? What about security? Since its the same terminal I guess theres no need to deal with AIrTrain or Shuttles? Thanks

Yes, you will have to go through security after you clear customs. Correct, you shouldn't have to take the AirTrain.

Thanks ZAP - you're awesome on this forum :)

Hi I will travel tomorrow from pittsburgh to newark (by united) and after to oporto(portugal) (by TAP). I will do check in tomorrow in airport of pittsburgh and I would like to know two things: 1) the hold baggage goes to oporto directly or I need to pick up in newark? (my ticket is a global tickect. I only do connection in newark. so I think that I do the global check in in pittsburgh but I would like a confirmation). 2) I need to pass again in security control in newark? I am with doubts because when I arrived to newark I had 4 hours between flights and I lost the flight to pittsburgh because the immigration and security control. thank you for your help

Assuming both tickets were purchased together on the same reservation then your baggage will be tagged through to Porto in Pittsburgh and you won't have to do anything with it in Newark. You do not have to go through Immigration in Newark, there is no Immigration when leaving the US. However, you will likely have to go through security as the TAP gates are not connected to the United Express gates inside security. I don't know what you mean by "global check"

Flying from IDA to DEN arriving 2:50 pm B gates, United Airlines; Leaving for EWR at 3:43 pm B gate United Airlines; do I have to go through TSA? Is there enough time?

No, you do not have to go through security in Denver. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have enough time

  • Baggage assistance due to injury on vacation

I am flying from the UK to LA with transfer at Newark however I suffered a spinal injury during my vacation and as I am traveling alone with two young children I requested assistance retrieving my baggage And rechecking it for the second flight - I was told by United this was not possible and my children would have to transport the bags for us (they are 6 and 8, it is not possible for them to transport or lift 6 bags). Is there any way the bags can be retrieved from the baggage collection or will I have to leave them at Newark and arrange for them to be sent on to LAX? Many thanks

There will be carts in the baggage claim area. You can ask other passengers or perhaps your 8 year old to lift the bags off the belt and onto the carts. Your 6 and 8 year old should then be able to push the cart.

I have just 40 min between domestic flight (united airlines) and International flight.I should go from Terminal A to Terminal C. Do I have enough time and what is the best connection Airtrain or shuttle?

Take the shuttle. You'll have to hope your flight from Des Moines is on-time in order to make your connection.

Is there a phone # I can call to talk to the baggage desk directly so this baggage can get forwarded! In England for 3 days now without even a change of underwear! Already contacted Baggage trace dept and customer service but no help at all!

Hi. I will be travelling to newark with my young baby in a few weeks and will need assistance with my baggage when exiting the airport. Are there any porter services at newark and do I need to arrange this in advance? Thank you.

It cannot be arranged in advance, you will have to try to find a Skycap when you arrive.

I will be arriving on UA4597 from YHZ at 1656hrs, departing on UA 161 to GLA at 1935hrs. Will I have to reclaim my luggage and recheck it with UA again, and is there sufficient time for terminal transfers etc. I have never used EWR before. Many thanks

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Halifax. You will arrive in Terminal A and depart from Terminal C. There is a shuttle inside security between them. You should have enough time. You don't have to do anything with your baggage in Newark.

    Many thanks, that's a relief!

Could u list details how to get toNYC via air train

Take the AirTrain to its end at the Amtrak/New Jersey Transit station. Pay for your airtrain ticket to exit the airtrain. Buy a New Jersey Transit ticket to Penn station. Board the next New jersey Transit train to New York Penn Station.

  • Connecting flight through EWR

I'm traveling from mumbai (air India) and have a 5 hours transit in Newark before heading to orlando (United Airlines) (connecting flight from mumbai to orlando). I am arriving EWR at terminal B and departing to Orlando from terminal C. Do I need collect my bags to go through customs in Newark and at which terminal. After this is done am I able to leave the airport to go into the city and then return to check in and go through security for my orlando flight at terminal C? Do I need transit visa to leave the airport? how long before the departure of flight I need to report for check-in for my orlando flight (united airlines) terminal C.

Yes, you will arrive in Terminal B, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, and go through US Customs. If you purchased your tickets on the same reservation and your bags are tagged through to Orlando (MCO) you can then re-check your bags at the transfer desk. you will then be outside the secure area and free to go where ever you want. However, 5 hours really isn't enough time to do anything, considering it will already be about 45 minutes after your arrival by the time you re-check your bags. If you purchased two separate reservations you will have to bring your bags with you on the AirTrain to Terminal C to check them with United (and pay a checked bag fee). Then you will go through security and to your departure gate. You need to have your bag checked roughly one hour before your flight to Orlando. There is no separate "transit visa" you will be entering the United States in Newark. Orlando is also in the United States. Transit Visas are for people connecting in the United States between two foreign countries.

I am traveling into EWR on United (domestic flight) and then will leave via Delta for Amsterdam ~~ 2 separate bookings. Will I have to collect my luggage and go through TSA again in Terminal B to connect to my Delta flight ? I have 3 hours in between. Will this give me plenty of time ? Thanks ..

Yes, you will have to claim your bags from United, take them to Terminal B, re-check them, and go through security. 3 hours should be enough time if your United flight is on-time or close to it.

Hello, I would be arriving at Newark from Bogotá-Colombia at 15:53,with united I have a connecting flight to Syracure at 17:20 with united too. Would that be enough time to make the connection? Do I have to get my luggage and re-chek-in?

Yes. you will arrive, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, possibly change terminals, then go through security. You have a few minutes less than I would recommend.

  • Meeting my daughter after international flight

Hello all. My daughter is flying in from Vienna, Austria on Austrian Airlines. I am flying in from Detroit and meeting her at the airport. I am arriving about 1 1/2 hours before her, and would like to meet her at her gate when she arrives. We will both be arriving in Terminal B according to the EWR website. My question is will I be able to meet her as she deplanes and walk with her to the customs area, or does her Austrian Air flight arrive in a different area and she has to go through customs prior to me being able to see her. It's a matter of me bringing only a carry on and staying in the terminal until I can see her, or checking a bag and picking it up in baggage claim outside the secure area, and having to meet her at Austrian Air baggage claim. Thanks for the help.

You will have to meet her at the exit of customs.
