I am flying from Dublin to Ottawa, with a 4 hour stop over in Newark. Will I be going through US customs check in Dublin only, or will it be done in Newark again?
You pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Dublin. There is no US Customs when leaving the US. So in Newark you just have to go to your departure gate, which may or may not require going through security (depends on the airline).
I have a 4 hour stop off in Newark. This is new to me. I was thinking of booking into a lounge but not sure which one as I don't know what terminal I will be flying out of? Any help would be most appreciated.
What airlines are you flying?
I am flying with Air Canada but the carrier is United airlines.
My sister arrives from BMX today at 1200 noon. United Flight 26. It says she arrives terminal B I thought all United flights arrive depart from C
Many United international flights arrive in Terminal B because there are not enough gates linked to Immigration & Customs in Terminal C.
I will be travelling to Boston via Newark by united airlines. My international flight arrives at terminal C and domestic flight also departs from terminal C. Do I need to go through the security since the terminals are same?
when you arrive in Newark you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate.
I am travelling from Frankfurt and I have port of entry at EWR airport and my connecting flight to Orlando FL in 1hr 40 mins will I have enough time to catch Orlando flight.
That is barely enough time if everything goes perfectly and is on the same reservation.
We are flying United to Buffalo on Sunday morning - departing 7:56 AM. I would like to drop my 96-year old father and our luggage at Departures and then return the rental car (AVIS). Is there a place where he can sit and wait for me to come back via the Sky Train to check in and proceed to security and the gate? Or would it be better to park in short-term/handicapped area, check in and check our bags then I return the car while he waits at the Check-in area? How much time should I allow to get to the Rental Car return and back to Terminal A?
I think there would be somewhere for him to wait with the bags. I would leave 25-30 minutes to return the car and get back to A on the AirTrain.
Leaving on American out of Newark for a connecting flight to Costa Rica.mdo they offer curbside check in?
Yes, I believe they do.
Hi... trying to organise transfers... after plane lands from Ireland, how long before we "walk out of the airport". Thanks
Since you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Ireland. If you don't have checked bags, 10-15 minutes, if you have checked bags 20-30 minutes.
oh great that's really fast. Thank you for the reply
Teen daughter is travelling alone for first time. She is flying United out of BWI to EWR. She will then connect to international flight to Dublin. On the BWI side will she check in to International or Domestic flight?? Also, at EWR will she need to retrieve bag and then re-check it for flight on AerLingus? On return trip she flies AerLingus to Boston; then connecting JetBlue to BWI. Will she have to retrieve bag and recheck in Boston?
United only has one check-in desk in Baltimore. If both flights are on the same reservation then her bags will go through to Dublin, all she has to do in Newark is go to her departure terminal and through security. On the return, she will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Dublin. All she has to do in Boston is walk from her arrival gate to her departure gate, both in Terminal 3.
Thank you very much for the info!!
How long should it take for US citizen to get through customs in Terminal B on the return leg of a round trip to St.Maarten via United ?
30-60 minutes from the time the plane pulls up to the gate to the time you walk out of customs.
