Niigata KIJ Airport Overview

Niigata International Airport KIJ serves the Chubu region of Niigata Prefecture. 
It is located near the city of Niigata, near the Agano River inlet on the West coast of Honshu Island, Japan’s largest island. Airport operations are between 7:30am and 8:30pm.

The Airport, located on the Sea of Japan coast, is accessible via National Routes 113 & 7 and the Nihonkai Tokoku Expressway 8. While the Niigata Airport interchange and the Nihonkai Expressway are only 5 km or 20 minutes away, the JR Niigata Station is 8 km or a 20-minute drive from the Airport.

With an estimated 2 million passengers a year, Niiga International Airport is seved by domestic and international airlines, with connections around the world.

Parking options Niigata International Airport: Parking Lot P1 with 85 spaces is right across from the terminal, while Parking Lot P2  is across from P1, with 272 spaces. For more parking information, call 025-271-9123.
 
To get from Niigata Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take a taxi or a bus. 
From The Niigata Airport IC you can connect to the local train line and change over at Niigata station to the Joetsu Shinkansen line.
2. The Airport Limousine Bus (tel. Niigata Kotsu, 025-246-6333) leaves about every 20-30 minutes to the JR Niigata Station (Minamiguchi South Exit Bus Terminal), takes about every 25 minutes and costs 400 yen. From there you can take either the JR Joetsu Shinkansen or the Bullet Train Line.
