Nis Constantine INI Airport Overview

Nis Constantine the Great Airport INI is Serbia's second-largest international airport and serves the Nisava District and the city of Nis and is an alternate for the Airports of Belgrade, Podgorica, Tivat, Sofia, Skopje and Ohrid. The city of Nis is situated at the crossroads of the Balkan and European traffic. The main road, starting north from Belgrade and passing through the Morava Valley, forks near Nis and runs into two directions: south, through the Valley of Vardar towards Thessalonica and Athens, and east through the valley of Nisava and Marica towards Sophia, Istanbul and the Middle East.

The Airport is located in the village of Medosevac, Nisava District, and 4 km from the city center of Nis, in southern Serbia, accessible va the E80 motorway, connecting to the E75 shortly thereafter. Due to its favorable weather throughout the year,
After the ‘open skies’ agreement became effective, passenger traffic had taken off with the introduction of low-cost airlines, such as WindJet, and the successful completion of its TAM program (Turn-Around Management).
Experts of TAM had predicted a potential of 200,000 passengers a year ''in the foreseeable future'; however, the passenger count for 2010 was only 23,627 and in 2011 25,000, and in 2012  27,426.

Note: If calling from a cellular phone, the dial code for Serbia is 381, for Nis 18; from a pay-phone in Nis, you need no dial code; and from other Serbian places, dial 018 before the listed number.

The passenger terminal at Nis Constantine Airport offers:  a formal restaurant, open during flight time; a multi-store; an ATM cash machine in the terminal lobby, and in the baggage claim area rental car counters.

To get from Nis Constantine Airport to your destination you can rent a car, take a taxi or a bus: The taxi stand is in front of the passenger terminal. If there is no taxi available there, the staff at the information desk inside the terminal will get you one. Taxis are cheap (2.5 EUR within city limits) & taxi drivers understand English.
The Airport Nis bus line 34 is making runs in a circle route that includes the airport and the Nis the train station &suburbs. Route 34 direction A runs every 15 mins from 5:45am to 9:15pm daily, and Route 34 direction B, runs every 15 mins from 5:50am-9:15pm. Sundays it leaves every 30 minutes in both directions.

Future Airport Developments:
With plans for the construction of a new passenger terminal in place, infrastructure iprovements, and plans for additional European flight destinations, it is possible that the goal of 200,000 passengers per annum will still be a possibility in the next few years.
