Security at Orlando MCO Airport

New Passenger Security Screening Procedure at Orlando International Airport New passenger screening security measures are in place at Orlando International Airport including Advanced Imaging Technology (AIT). This technology detects a wide range of threats to transportation security in a matter of seconds, using millimeter wave and backscatter imaging technology. Alternative passenger screening methods include a physical pat down search which will include sensitive and personal areas. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has implemented strict measures to protect passenger privacy which is ensued through the anonymity of the image.

According to the TSA, “Additional screening occurs when an individual sets off the alarm on the (regular) metal detector, or if he or she is selected for random additional screening.”

Comments should be submitted to the TSA at https://contact.tsa.dhs.go/DynaForm.aspx?FormID=10

For further information on Advanced Imaging Technology please refer to www.tsa.gov/approach/tech/ait
