We are arriving Air France at terminal 2E and have a connecting flight on AF in terminal 2F. We have 3 hours, which I would assume is plenty of time. My question is can you walk from 2E to 2F, and about how long does it take? Thank you!

  • Transit visa required between terminals?
    Oct 1, 2015
Hi, I will be flying into CDG-Paris at terminal 2A and my connecting flight which is Etihad Airlines to Abu Dhabi is from terminal 2C (the connection is 2.5 hrs after I land). I hold an Indian Passport and wanted to know if I would require a Transit visa. Thanks a lot!

You will need an airport transit visa. All Indian citizens transiting the Schengen Zone need one unless they hold a US Visa.

Hi, I am flying from Australia through France (CDG) to LIsbon, Portugal. I fly in with Singapore Air to terminal 1 at 7.30am and depart Air France to Lisbon from terminal 2F at 9.40 - my bags will be checked straight through, do I need to pass through customs or anything in this connection? Thank you!

You will go through Schengen Passport control in Paris, then take the CDGVAL to Terminal 2F

  • Going from terminal 2d to 2e without a boarding pass
    Sep 18, 2015
hello, we have 1.5 hours at cdg to go from 2 d to 2 e and they were unable to print our boarding passes in Vienna for the Air France Delta flight out of Paris. We are told they can print them at the gate. Will we have enough time?

  • Will I make my connection?

I'm connecting through Paris on my journey from JFK (NYC) to Tel Aviv. I'm very confused after reading these posts here, so any help is greatly appreciated. What is this "Shengen Visa" that I may or may not need? I have a U.S. passport, so not sure if I'll need something additional to pass through security? How do I figure out if I have to pick up my checked luggage or if it will be passed through to my next flight? (I've never travelled anywhere where I needed to pick up my checked luggage between flights,so again any help is appreciated!) Also, my layover is only 2hrs...I'm sure that's enough time if I just simply have to pass through passport checks/carry on security, but I'm not sure what all I will have to do...thanks!

If you have a US Passport then you do not need a Schengen Visa. If both of your flights are on Air France all you will have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, where there will be Israel-specific security. You won't have to do anything with your checked baggage.

Thanks so much for clearing that up!

  • Connecting flight

Hi , We are flying in from Barcelona with Easyjet arriving at 6.50pm T 2C and flying out to Dubai with Emirates at 9.50pm terminal 2 D. When we arrive at CDG from Barcelona , do we need to go thru passport control after collecting our luggages , before going to T 2D for our flight check in to Dubai ? Will that be enough time ? Thanks

Since both Spain and France are both in the Schengen Zone you will not go through passport control upon arrival. You will go through Schengen Exit passport control after you check your bags and check in for your flight to Dubai. You should have plenty of time.

Thank you so much for your reply :-)

  • Meeting Someone at Different Terminal
    Sep 16, 2015
Hello. My husband and I are meeting in Paris. I fly into Terminal 2C and he flies into Terminal 2E. I am arriving 2hrs earlier, so I thought I would meet him at his gate and we can go to the RER B to get to the city together. I am checking a bag though. Is it possible for me to arrive, pick up my bag, then go to his gate/Terminal? Or should I go to his gate then go to baggage claim then go to the train that will take us to the city center? Any advise welcome! Thank you.

No, you cannot meet at his gate. Just meet in the train station. It's by far the easiest place to meet in the mammoth CDG.

  • Connecting from Terminal 3 to 2F
    Sep 16, 2015
I am connecting from a WOW Airlines flight from KEF arriving CDG at 10:50AM to an Air France flight to Lisbon leaving at 12:40 PM. This will be from terminal 3 to terminal 2F. I will not have any check-in baggage. Is 2 hours enough for this connection? Or should I rebook on the 16:15 flight to Lisbon? Thanks in advance.

Without checked baggage and all flights within Schengen I think this is doable.

Will I have to pass through passport control since I am switching from Terminal 3 to terminal 2F?

No, Iceland, France, and Portugal are all in the Schengen Area. However, you will have to go through security in 2F.

Thanks so much for your help! Would you happen to know if a 125 minute connection in London Gatwick from Lisbon connecting to Iceland (North to South Terminal) is doable?

    That should be possible.

Hey Guys I am travelling to Rome on FranceAir from LA with two separate tickets & layout time is only 1 hour would it be enough to make connection & not losing the flight to Rome.

It's doable but difficult. If both tickets are on Air France you can call them and have them join your two bookings together so your bags can be checked through to Rome.

Thnx for your response; actually both of them on Air-France & luggage will be delivered on Rome no worries for that. I ve much concern for how to connect the other flight to rome, & should i pass by passport control or no need since I ve shengen I need your kind advise as long it is my first time in Paris thnx in advance.

You will pass through Schengen passport control on your way from your arrival gate to your departure gate as you are entering the Schengen Area in Paris.

  • Terminal 1 to 2E

Hello. I'm flying on a separate airline (separate ticket) from Athens to CDG and then proceed to U.S. I have 2:35 to make the connection. Is that sufficient to pick my luggage and then recheck it and go through security? Thank you

It should be enough time. It doesn't take long to Get from T1 to T2 on the CDGVAL.

Thank you for your quick response. What about the fact that I have to retrieve my baggage and then go through customs and recheck it?

You don't really have to go through customs. Baggage should come out pretty quickly as T1 is a pretty simple terminal. you will go through Schengen Exit passport control after you re-check your bags in 2E, but that's a formality. You won't have to go through passport control upon arrival because Greece and France are both in the Schengen Area.

    Thank you very much.

  • Traveling with my pet
    Sep 3, 2015
Hello good morning, im traveling with my pet from beirut lebanon to los angeles, for turism, my pet is 4kg and less of 8 kg with her carrier. I just want to make sure what are the rules for the transit on GDG for my dog, because she is traveling with me in the cabin, and also i dont want to put the chip on her, i read somewhere that if we dont change terminals, she doesnt need to have the chip. can someone give me info on this please. thank you

  • Transfer From 2E to 2F
    Aug 31, 2015
We are flying from London to Venice, with a 1 hour lay over in Paris. We fly into 2E and depart from 2F. Can anyone please tell us the process of navigating the airport? Can we easily walk from E to F? Someone mentioned Passport Control. Will we need to complete that process? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Yes, you can walk from E to F. You will go through Schengen passport control on your route. You should have enough time.

  • Will I make my connection to US (JFK)?
    Aug 19, 2015
I will arrive at 8:45 am (Air France) & depart 10:35 am (Delta). These are not continuing flights, separate tickets. I need to know if I can make the connection, having to pick up bags, check bags and go through security again.

That should be barely enough time. If you show your Delta confirmation to the Air France agent in your origin they may be willing to check the bag through to your destination, meaning you could re-check it right after clearing customs and not have to worry about meeting the bag check deadline with Delta or going to the Delta ticket counters.

Sorry, I thought this connection was at JFK. My advice still holds true about showing your Delta confirmation to the Air France agent. However, if your bags are checked through to JFK then you won't have to claim them in Paris.

Can you check bags through to JFK if it is not a continuation flight? I think that I will just call Delta and ask them.

The Air France agent has the ability to tag your bags through to JFK, but they are not obligated to because you purchased two separate itineraries.

Thank you for the help everyone.
