Hello. I am arriving from Majorca, Spain at terminal 2D at 11:45am and catching a plane departing for Los Angeles from terminal 1 at 12:50am. I have NO checked baggage. Do you think this is possible? I was thinking I would not have to go through customs since I was coming from Spain. Thank you in advance.

You will have to go through security and Schengen Exit passport control. This is a very difficult connection.

fastest way (cdgval?) between. where do i get on shuttle?

The CDGVAL station is located on the lowest level of Terminal 1. It's hard to miss.

thank you. arrive at 6:55 am at term 1, and leave on tgv at 8:30 am to Lyon. is this enough time to clear passport control and take cdgval to the gare to catch my train? merci

My wife and I are scheduled to arrive at Terminal 2E on Delta at 8:25am and depart on Air France from Terminal 2F at 9:35am. Can we make it?

    Yes, that should be possible.

I arrive in Terminal 2E at 8:25 am and am taking TGV train departing from the airport station at 9:58. Is 1 hr 33 mins enough time to deplane, clear customs, pick up bags and get to the train?

    That is probably enough time.

Hi, I would be taking Air France from Singaore to Birmingham, transiting at Paris Airport. It seems like both flights would arrive/depart from Terminal 2E. In that case, is one hour transfer time sufficient?

Yes, one hour should be enough time.

My 20 year old daughter will be flying alone and I want to give her as much detail as possible about her connection at CDG. One reservation and bags will be checked through to Florence. She will be flying from Cincinnati to CDG on Delta, arriving at 8:35 a.m. I see that Delta flies into Terminal 2E, but I don't know what hall? She then leaves CDG on Air France at 10:05 from Terminal 2F. What will she need to do from the time she steps off the plane to get to 2F? Is 1 hour, 30 minutes enough time? I tried to pay for Air France's new meet & greet service, but since I booked through Delta as a travel partner, they won't do it. That would have put this worried mother's mind at ease!

All she has to do is look up her departure gate and follow the signs to it. She will go through Schengen passport control on her way to it.

Will she need to go through security as well or just passport control?

Since she is coming from the US she won't have to go through security.

I have a Naples to CDG flight on EasyJet (Terminal 2B) arriving at 9:05 am and then a United Airlines flight to Chicago (Terminal 1) departing at 11:15 am. Will I have enough time? Do I have to go through customs at Terminal 1 and then security at Terminal 2?

Forgot to mention that I won't have a checked bag.

In Terminal 2 all you have to do is claim your bag, then take it to Terminal 1 where you will check your bag, go through security, and schengen exit passport control. Since Italy and France are both in the Schengen Area there are no passport controls when traveling between them.

Sorry, didn't see you don't have a checked bag. Then all you have to do is go to Terminal 1, check in and go through security and exit passport control. You should have just enough time.

Thank you for your thorough response. Much appreciated!

I feel really bad asking this, but this will be my first time flying alone and to a country where English isn't the primary language. I'm studying the map and layout, but will I be able to navigate from the terminal to baggage claim to customs not speaking a word of French? Thanks :)

Yes, CDG has lots of signs in English and also most of the signs use very clear icons of what they are.

  • Connecting to MRS

We land at CDG from JFK at 8:30am. Our connecting flight to MRS departs at 9:35am. Do we need to clear customs/immigration & re-check our bags in CDG or clear customs & immigration in MRS? Will we have enough time? Thank you.

You will go through passport control in CDG. You don't have to do anything with your bags as long as both flights are on the same reservation.

Thank you so much! I was worried we might not have time.

  • Terminal transfer with no bag loaded
    Apr 21, 2016

I have a question about flight transfer in Paris CDG airport. As I will travel from Bangkok to Paris, then catch a connecting flight to London. I have no loaded baggage, just carry on bag. However, my booking is not a check-through type as detailed below: 1. Flight from Bangkok-to-Paris CDG airport (Terminal 1), by Thai Airways, Arrive at 7am on 25 Apr 2016 2. Flight from Paris CDG airport (Terminal 2)-to-London LHR, by British Airways, Depart at 10.30 am on 25 Apr 2016 My question is: With no baggage picked-up or reloaded (as I have only in flight carry-on bag), can I directly transfer from Paris CDG airport Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 without passing through immigration? I do not have schengen visa but I have researched and found that Thai citizen do not need airport transit visa if transfer within international transfer zone to non-schengen countries like UK. Is this fact also applied to my case? About airline checking in, I found British Airways website that without passing check-in counter of British Airways locating outside the international transfer zone, I can do a flight check in from via a mobile check-in and get e-boarding pass. Please suggest and confirm if I will have any difficulties for such transfer. You prompt answer will be highly appreciated. Thank you very much in advanced.

You cannot transit from T1 to T2 inside the international transit zone at CDG. You have to take the CDGVAL train which runs in the public areas of the airport. You need a transit visa.

Thank you for your reply. I sent the same question to Paris Aéroport Service Information and just got a reply which I think it's worn sharing to next travellers. "You are landing at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Terminal 1 Your connecting flight is departing from Paris-Charles de Gaulle Terminal 2A You are arriving on an International flight: → Follow the arrows to gates 20 to 28 If you do not yet have your second boarding pass, go to the company connecting flights desk of your next flight → Take the green shuttle bus (Navette verte) to Terminal 2A Frequency: from 5:00 am to 00:00 pm

  • Visa required?

My friend and I are traveling to Punta Cana. I am meeting her at CDG. Now I find out she might not be able to get through the airport? I booked a vacation package so our start and finish is CDG. I then purchased individual flights for both of us. She is Ukrainian and has no Visa for France. She flies into terminal 1 and we fly out of terminal 2E. Will she need some form of Visa to travel between terminals? I know she will have to get her checked baggage and check into our PUJ flight. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Yes, she will need a Schengen Transit Visa issued by France

We are flying Thai Airways into CDG arriving at 7:30 (coming from Australia -Bangkok-CDG) if we book a 10:30am flight into NICE, will this give us enough time to clear immigration, collect luggage and check in for our connecting flight?

yes, that should be enough time.

I'm traveling on two separate tickets--Air France Stockholm (ARN) to CDG then American CDG to DFW. Can I check my bag through or will I have to collect and recheck in CDG? Thanks

You will not be able to check your bag through. You will have to claim and re-check it in Paris.

We are flying to LYS (Lyon) from YYZ (Toronto) via CDG (Paris). Both flights are on Air France. We will have checked baggage. Do we have to retrieve it in Paris, or will it travel through to Lyon?

You don't have to do anything with your bags in Paris.

Thanks. I was hoping that was the case.

  • Is 45 mins enough?!

Hi, I'm flying to Moscow from Manchester, via CDG, in June with Air France. I've just checked my e-ticket and am panicking as there are only 45 minutes between the flights! I've done a little research and they both seem to be Terminal 2E, so is this really enough time? I won't be checking baggage in. Thanks for your help.

It is possible, since you won't have to go through any Immigration.
