Arriving 8 AM on American at Terminal 2A with luggage and need for a wheelchaiir. Connecting on separate ticket to Air France, Terminal 2F at 1PM. Are there porters for the luggage & attendants for the wheelchair? It's a long journey - about how long will it take?

You should have enough time. The wheelchair assistance person will be able to find someone to help with luggage.

  • DXB to CDG to Toulouse

Hello We are arriving into CDG on Emirates flight at 1.30pm and our connecting flight to Toulouse with AirFrance is at 3.40pm. The flight arrives into terminal 2C and departs 2F. Is this enough time? Do you know if we will have to collect our bags, check in and go through security again or can we book our bags all the way through and just transit through the airport?? We are doing the return trip arriving into Paris at 12.05pm and departing to Dubai at 3.35pm. Is this enough time for the return? Thanks all - love this forum for all my travel questions!

Are your two tickets on the same reservation or two separate reservations?

    2 separate reservations :(

Then yes, you will have to go through passport control, claim your bags, take them to air france, re-check them, and go through security. You should have enough time though.

Travelling from Helsinki to CDG by AF5003 and have only an hour gap to catch the next flight AF192 from terminal 2E is that enough time to catch my flight

That's just enough time if everything goes perfectly. You will have to go through Schengen exit passport control in Paris.

Yes, all you have to do in Paris is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

    Ok thank you

We are US citizens flying from Nice to CDG, arriving at 8:45am. We have an Airfrance flight at 10:30am to the states. We a flying 1st class. Will that be enough to time to pick up our bags, check in with AIrFrance and make it through security to the terrminal/plane?

What airline are you flying to CDG?

  • Flying from Seattle,WA passing though Paris to Kiev.
    May 8, 2016
Hi! My infant daughter, mother and I are flying to Kiev from Seattle with a connecting flight in CDG. We have about 1 hour 50 minutes between flights in CDG, is that enough time to transfer a checked baggage? Also what kind of customs will we have to go through? We're traveling with Delta if that makes a difference.

All you have to do in Paris is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Since you are not entering the Schengen area and are coming from the US You do not have to go through passport control or security.

    Thank you!

  • 2D Air Serbia - 2F Air France
    May 6, 2016
My Air Serbia flight from Macedonia (through Serbia) lands at CDG terminal 2D at 19:40. I have a flgiht at 21:25 with Air France from terminal 2F. I will be carrying on all luggage. Is that enough time? Will I have to go through security again? Will I have to go through passport customs? Thanks!

I forgot to mention, I am an American if that makes a difference.

I believe you will have to go through security. Whether you have to go through passport control or not depends where you are flying to on Air France.

Thanks. It's a domestic flight to Bordeaux.

Then yes, you will have to go through passport control.

  • from Tunis to Toronto via CDG
    May 3, 2016
I fly from Tunis on Lufthansa into Terminal 1 and then to Toronto on Air Canada from Terminal 2. Different tickets. Do I go through border control twice? How much time do I need to do this?

Lufthansa doesn't fly from Tunis to Paris. The only airline that flies from Tunis to Paris that arrives in Terminal 1 is Syphax Airlines. Were your tickets purchased on two separate reservations? Please double check your reservation.

The Lufthansa flight is via Frankfurt, leaving Tunis at 2 in the morning, changing in Frankfurt, on to Paris.

That's a fairly important piece of information you omittted. You will just claim your bags from Terminal 1, take them to Terminal 2, check them with Air Canada, go through Schengen exit passport control and security and to your departure gate. You will go through Schengen entry passport control in Frankfurt.

  • How long to get bags and go through customs?
    May 3, 2016
Hello, I have booked tickets traveling from Montreal to CDG, arriving at terminal 2 A, at 7:30 am on Air Canada. I have decided to fly to Rennes instead of take a train because the early trains are sold out. Is a 9:35 Departure on Air France too early? Or is it safer to wait till the 1:00 flight?

I won't say the 9:35 flight is impossible, but it's pretty difficult if you have to transfer bags yourself.

I am planning to travel with a carry on. Do you think that would work? Thank you for your feedback. It is helpful!

I mean, I discovered the great deal I can get on Air France, does not include a checked bag, so I am now planning to travel lighter. If it means I can make a 9:35 flight, even better.

With no checked bag then I think you can definitely do it. Then all you would have to do if you checked in online for your flight to Rennes is go through passport control and to your departure gate.

All on one ticket with AF. Will a 1 hr 45 min connection at CDG be sufficient? Instructions on how to claim checked bag and necessity (?) of navigating security/customs would be appreciated. ~thank you

You don't have to go through security or customs or do anything with your bags. you just have to go to your departure gate.

  • Connecting, different airlines
    May 3, 2016
Flying into Terminal 2A on American Airline, and out in 2E on Air France to Rome with only carry-on baggage. If I have printed my boarding pass for Air France prior, can I just go to gate at 2E or do I have to go through check-in/Customs/Passport, etc?

You will just have to go through passport control and to your departure gate.

Does that take very long? Is that different then exiting like you were going to get baggage? Thanks.

It's literally what it sounds like, they check your passport. sometimes there are lines, usually they are short.

I have been told that since my first ticket was on American Airlines, and I have a SECOND ticket on Air France, that I will have to exit the 2A terminal after passport/immigration, then go to 2F and go through their security. Your scenario sounds much simpler. Am I missing something?

I am arriving from Spain and have 2 hrs and 35 minutes to make a connection from terminal 2D to 1. I am flying to NYC. They are different airlines but no checked baggage. Can I make it?

With no checked bags, yes, I think you can make this as long as your first flight is on-time.

  • JFK (or Newark) to Moscow through Paris
    Apr 28, 2016
Hi! I'm trying to book a ticket for my elderly mother who doesn't speak french or english; so I'm looking for the New York-Moscow flight with the easiest connection. It looks like JFK-SVO flight connects in Paris at the same terminal 2E, am I right? What's the terminal like? Would she need to take any transfers/buses/etc. to get to connecting flight CDG-SVO? What would she need to do after getting off JFK-CDG flight? Also, does she need any visas if she just changes planes in Paris? Another question: what is the terminal for transfers if the departure is from Newark airport? Thank you!

CDG is very large and modern but also quite complex and she won't find many other russian speakers there. Why don't you just book her on the Aeroflot nonstop flight from JFK?

I know CDG is huge, i've passed through it once for a connection to Barcelona - it was a nightmare. That's why I'm worried for her. But like I said, it looks like both her flights are from the same terminal, 2E (unlike mine were). Believe it or not, Aeroflot tickets are more expensive than AF but the biggest problem is the long layover of 12 hours with Aeroflot flights (she's flying further from Moscow). Considering the "amenities" of SVO, it's out of the question. So if she's in the same terminal, 2E, would she just go from gate to gate (she can manage that much)? Will she have to go through passport control, security check, customs, whatever else? (Moscow is a Non-Schengen country). (P.S. She's a US resident, not citizen, she'll have a travel passport and a green card with her.)

She will not have to go through any checks in Paris as she is coming from the US and is not entering the Schengen Area.

  • What stumbling blocks to expect

Traveling from IAH, through CDG and then to BEY, and back same way. Is there a separate security step coming back from BEY? Does luggage get/need to be inspected b/w IAH and getting on connecting flight in CDG? Somebody else booked my ticket, and only allowed 90 min... (going). It's more (4-5 hrs) on return flight.

If both flights are Air France that should be enough time. On the way back from BEY you will have to go through security at CDG. You won't have to do anything with your checked bags at CDG either way.

IAH - CDG and back is Air France. Not sure if it flies to BEY, but we are changing over the MEA airlines... Still enough time? I think we are switching from terminal 2E to 2F or vv.
