I'm traveling on two separate tickets--Air France Stockholm (ARN) to CDG then American CDG to DFW. Can I check my bag through or will I have to collect and recheck in CDG? Thanks

You will not be able to check your bag through. You will have to claim and re-check it in Paris.

  • Checked Baggage Question
    Apr 16, 2016
We are flying to LYS (Lyon) from YYZ (Toronto) via CDG (Paris). Both flights are on Air France. We will have checked baggage. Do we have to retrieve it in Paris, or will it travel through to Lyon?

You don't have to do anything with your bags in Paris.

Thanks. I was hoping that was the case.

  • Is 45 mins enough?!
    Apr 14, 2016
Hi, I'm flying to Moscow from Manchester, via CDG, in June with Air France. I've just checked my e-ticket and am panicking as there are only 45 minutes between the flights! I've done a little research and they both seem to be Terminal 2E, so is this really enough time? I won't be checking baggage in. Thanks for your help.

It is possible, since you won't have to go through any Immigration.

  • Immigration check to fly to us
    Apr 16, 2016
Hi, I would appreciate some help with regards to customs and immigration traveling to US, specifically how long it takes. I am flying into CDG at 9:15am and departing to US at 10:55 both flights are AF. That gives me 1 hour and 40 minutes to go through immigration if everything goes well and there are no delays on my first flight. Is 1hr 40 minutes enough to go through. Thanks a lot, love the forum, it,s really helpful

Where are you flying into CDG from?

Hi, I am flying in from Bucharest on May 9.

You will not have to go through immigration at CDG. You just have to go through security and to your departure gate. You have enough time.

Thanks so much!!! This is really helpful.

  • arrival on Eva air and connecting to London by Easyjet
    Apr 14, 2016
Hi In the summer I will flight Eva air from Taipei to Paris CDG at 7:30am landing time terminal 1 I wonder if I have time for a connecting flight at 8:30 with easyJet and also do you think luggage could go direct from Taipei -Paris - London without me going out of immigration pick up luggage than recheck in again?? many thanks Susan

No, that would be impossible. Easyjet does not interline bags to or from other airlines.

  • AF connections FCO-CDG-IAD
    Apr 13, 2016
We will board in Rome and have 2 hrs. for connections from T2F arriving at 3:00 PM to T2E. departing at 5:00 PM. What is the procedure? We will have checked baggage and carry-on. Also we are seniors so don't move too fast. Is 2 hrs. enough?

You will just go through Schengen Exit Passport control and to your departure gate. You should have plenty of time.

Thank you . We are unfamiliar with CDG and have heard many times how confusing it is. I feel better now!

  • Connecting to AF flight
    Apr 13, 2016
We are traveling on Open Skies from Newark, arr. 9:30 am west terminal. Want to catch an AF flight to Marseille, which looks like it leaves from West Hall 2. Without checked baggage, how much time do we need? Assume we have to go through customs? Also, how much time if we check a bag? Thanks so much!

Yes, you will have to go through schengen passport control when you arrive. Without a checked bag you can do it in 2 hours, with a checked bag I'd want 3 hours.

    Thanks so much!

meant to ask the above about ORLY, not CDG. But have left ourselves lots of time for our AF connection. New question--we are flying into CDG from Marseille(AF) on our return, then on to JFK on AA. What kind of passport control if any will we encounter at CDG? Would 2 hours between arrival on AF and departure AA at CDG be enough time? Thanks!

  • Need help
    Apr 13, 2016
I'm Indonesian traveling to USA via Paris with 2 different airlines. First is Cathay Pacific from Jakarta to Paris. I'll arrive at terminal 2E around 7am. And I'll depart to New York from terminal 1 with La Compagnie at 11am. I have US visa. My question is, can I go out of immigration/passport control at Terminal 2 at CDG to check-in desk at Terminal 1 without schengen visa? FYI, Indonesian don't need transit visa around CDG. What do you I think I should do? How much time do I need for all the process? Thanks for your help

Since you have to exit the transit area of the airport, I believe you will need a Schengen Transit Visa. You should have enough time.

Thank you for answering. Based on this official page I won't need any transit visa. Is that mean I can go through immigration without visa and just showing my next ticket to USA? Thank you

That page refers to Airport Transit Visas - not full transit Visas. Airport Transit Visas are for people who are staying within the transit area of an airport. Since you have to leave the transit area to change terminals you need a full transit visa, not an Airport Transit Visa.

  • Atlanta to CDG to Prague on Delta/AF
    Apr 12, 2016
When we land in CDG from Atlanta on Delta do we have to claim our checked bags and go through customs? We have 1 hour and 20 minutes between arrival and departure on Air France - all one reservation. Thanks!!

You will not have to claim your bags, you just go through Schengen passport control and to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

Thanks so much! My stress just went away!

  • Is 1hr 5mins enough time to catch AF flight to AF flight?
    Apr 12, 2016
I'd be flying in from Chicago on an AF flight, scheduled to land in CDG at 11:25am. My connection would leave at 12:30pm, also an AF flight. Is this too tight a connection time? If I'm going AF flight to AF flight, can I make this (no checked luggage)? Or will I need to go through customs anyways so there's no way? Thank you in advance for any advice anyone can offer!!!

Where are you flying on your second flight?

    to Sofia, Bulgaria

Then all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

  • is2h10 enough for connection at CDG(AirFrance&Delta on through-ticket)
    Apr 10, 2016
Dear All I would like to know whether it is 2h10 enough time at CDG to catch our onward flight to Boston? We have a through-ticket so no need to recheck-in at CDG. GVA to CDG with Air France and from CDG to BOS with Delta. Please note both AF and Delta are partners. Is it possible to catch our onward flight at CDG without any stress? Thank you very much in advance. Warm regards Emphilan

That is a fairly easy connection - you just have to go through schengen exit passport control and to your departure gate.

I really appreciate your answer. Thank you a lot

  • 1 hr 25 min connection time enough?
    Apr 8, 2016
Hi, I am travelling to Malta with a connection at CDG. My flight gets into CDG at 8.20am at terminal 2E and then CDG>Malta flight departs at 10.15am from Terminal 2D. Is 1hr 55 mins enough time in between? Also, travelling back the connections are at Rome and CDG Rome FCO Terminal 1 lands at 14:00 > Rome - Fiumicino Apt (FCO) Terminal 1 departs at 15:25 (1hr 25 minutes layover) Paris (CDG) Terminal 2F lands at 17:35 > Paris (CDG) Terminal 2C departs at 19:00 (1hr 25 minutes layover) The visa is Schengen and the flights will be booked on the same ticket on Air France. will I make it on time? Thanks!!

Where are you flying into CDG from on your first flight? I think you have enough time.

    Mumbai. Thanks for the response!!

In that case it's just enough time assuming the flight from Mumbai is on-time.

  • Vienna to CDG to Boston
    Apr 7, 2016
We are US citizens arriving at 7:40AM on American Airlines and then leaving at 9PM to Vienna on Niki. During our layover we plan to go into the city for a few hours. I have already accounted for 3 hours to make it from the city to our departure gate. Am I correct? I assume Niki is in terminal 3? Our return flight connection is the one I am worried about. We arrive at 8:10AM from Vienna on Niki. Our next flight is on American Airlines at 11AM. is 2 hours (rounding down) enough time to make this connection? I cannot find any info online about what we will need to do to transfer terminals. This is on 1 reservation and I have confirmed with AA that our baggage will be checked through to our destination each way. Also, how accurate is the wait times page for CDG here on ifly?

The wait times listed on ifly are not accurate. 2 hours is very borderline on your way back as you will arrive in Terminal 3 and have to take the CDGVAL to Terminal 2, go through Schengen Exit Passport control and security and then to your gate.

Thank you. The actual layover on the way back is 2hrs 50min but I am figuring 2 hours just in case. On our way there and trip into the city, am I correct in planning on 3 hours? The flight will be at 9pm on Niki on a Friday. Niki is in terminal 3?

Yes, that sounds about right. Yes Niki uses T3. T3 is adjacent to the RER train station to the city.

  • T2F to T1 connection in 3hrs 10 mins
    Apr 6, 2016
Hi, I booked two flights on a separate ticket without really thinking about it. We are a family of 4, and are arriving from Berlin to CDG at 8:50AM (Terminal 2F). There we have to transfer to catch a plane to Perth, Australia, which leaves at 12 o'clock (midday). Will we have enough time to make the connection from T2F to T1 in 3hrs and 10 minutes (not to mention we have to be there before the check in desk closes for international flights). Since the flights are not on a through ticket, will waiting for our luggage, clearing security, then rechecking our luggage and clearing security again be impossible in this time?

That should be enough time. You don't have to go through security twice. Just after you check your bags in T1. You will also go through Schengen Exit passport control in T1. There are no passport controls on your flight from Berlin because Germany and France are both in the Schengen Area.

  • Toulouse to CDG to US
    Apr 5, 2016
We will be flying Air France TLS to CDG, then Icelandair to the US via Reykjavik. The tickets were booked separately. We have 2.5hr in between flights and arrive Terminal 2F and depart Terminal 1. If we do not check luggage and check in online, can we just go right to our gate? If we check luggage, is there enough time? Thank you for your help!

You can't go right to your gate. T2 and T1 are only connected outside security by the CDGVAL, so you will have to go through security again in T1. I suggest not checking baggage.
