Hi! I am flying into Philadelphia from Frankfurt, I am then looking to fly to Denver, is 1hr and 35 min enough time? I know that I will need to go through customs, check-in, and security upon arriving in Philly. I am very familiar with the Philly airport with domestic flights, but not when I am flying international. I also know it depends on time of day and airlines, but I am looking for someone with experience with this! Thanks for your help!

That should be just about enough time.

  • flying with US airway from Toronto to Munich via PHL.
    Aug 6, 2015
I will be flying with US airway from Toronto to Munich via PHL. In PHL, Do I have to go through custom to pick up my luggage and then go through security and re-check my luggage? is one hour and 20 min layover time enough?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If you arrive in Terminal F, it is connected to Terminal A where you will depart inside security by a shuttle bus.

I am traveling from Boston to Philadelphia, and have an 80 minute layover before my next flight leaves to Frankfurt. I am using US Airways for both flights. Will this be enough time? Thank you!

Yes, that is plenty of time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. All gates at PHL are connected inside security.

  • layover - 40 mins
    Jul 7, 2015
Hi, I land in Philadelphia at 7.51 pm and then need to catch a plane at 8.31 to chicago, do you think it's enough time? It's the same airlines, the same terminal. My other concern is: Is my checked-in luggage ok to make it, will they have time to load it? Thanks for your help

It should be enough time but obviously leaves very little time to spare in case of a delay on the first flight.

  • 1 hour 35 min layover and customs
    Jul 8, 2015
I'm returning from Venice with a connection in PHL. Will 1 hours 35 mins be enough to clear customs and recheck bags? I had held a flight with a longer layover but when they ticketed me they put me on this tighter connection.

That should be barely enough time.

Thank you ZAP for your reply. I will just hope all goes smoothly and we make it!

Flying to san martin with US airways and there is a 30 mins layover in PHL before we catch the next flight! Is 30 mins enough to make it to our connecting flight to san martin! hopefully we might have to run from terminal B/C to A west! Do we need to go through security again for international flights?

No, you don't need to go through security. All gates at PHL are connected inside security.

  • one hour layover in Phl
    Mar 27, 2015
party of six have a one-hour layover in phl. arrv. in terminal F on US Air and connect to a flight to Seattle on US Air.. I have read there is some difficulty going from Terminal F to other Terminals. Any ideas?

Terminal F is only connected to the other terminals by a shuttle, but it runs frequently. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

I am looking at booking a flight on US Airways but only have a 32 minute layover with a checked bag. I'll be flying from Portland, Maine through PHL then on to LEX. Will this be enough time for me and my bag as well if the first flight is on time?

There's a good chance both flights will be in Terminal F, but it's definitely cutting it quite close.

  • Immigration and luggage

I have a flight from albany to doha with a layover in philly. 1) do i need to check out with my luggage during the latover? 2) how much time do i need to travel between the terminals, immigration, etc?

If you purchased both tickets together you do not have to do anything with your baggage in Philadelphia. You do not go through US Immigration when leaving the US. All you have to do in Philadelphia is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If you arrive in Terminal F, it is connected to the other terminals inside security by a shuttle bus. It is possible to make your connection in as little as 40 minutes comfortably.

  • 1 Hour 18 Mins layover
    Dec 16, 2014
Hi, I am will be travelling to Doha from Detroit via Philadelphia by Qatar Airways, and I have 1 hr 18 mins to change the plane in Philadelphia from Terminal B to Terminal A. Do you think this is enough time as I read somewhere the close the gate 45 mins before the departure for international flights. and also what are the chances for baggage to be transferred from US airways to Qatar Airways within 1 hour. Thanks.

They do not close the gate 45 minutes prior to departure. You should be fine as long as your first flight is on-time.

thank you...and do you think the bags will get transferred from us airways to qatar airways withon that period of time. thanks again.

Yes, that should be plenty of time.

  • Flight from Egypt to TOronto via Philadelphia requires USA visa?
    Nov 7, 2014
Hi .. I'm looking to book a ticket from Cairo (Egypt) connecting via Philadelphia and I don't have USA visa. Do I have to get it ?

Yes, if you are an Egyptian Citizen you need a US Transit Visa.

Thanks for your concern. Does it take less time for such a one-day purpose as just a connection or it is the same ?

The process for a transfer visa is generally simpler than a visitor visa.

Hi all, I am looking at booking a flight and hoping for some advice. I am travelling from Bermuda to Newark NJ via PHL. We are only taking carry on luggage. The layover is 1 hr 10 mins. That doesn't seem like a lot of time to me... anyone know if this is very likely to make?

Yes, that should be enough time.

  • Enough Layover time?
    Jan 27, 2014
Next week I'll be flying from Brussels, Belgium to Philiadelphia and have a 2h 15min layover to get my flight to New York. Will this be enough time? I'm travelling with US Airways on both flights. And what kind of security control do I have to go through when I arrive in Philadelphia?

Yes, that should be enough time but you may have to hurry. You will go through US Immigration, then claim your baggage, then go through US Customs, then re-check your baggage, then go up to the departures level and go through security. Then you will likely have to take a shuttle bus to Terminal F where most of the PHL-New York flights leave from.

I'm arriving at Terminal A and my next flight is from Terminal C. Does this make a difference?

Well if your departing flight is in C that makes it even easier, you can just walk from A to C.
