  • Flight from Montreal via PHL to London Heathrow

Hi, American Airlines did a schedule change on my return flight to Europe, sending me via PHL rather than a direct flight from Montreal. I am concerned about my layover time, which is only 1H30 (I didn't get to choose) I am a Belgian citizen with a valid ESTA. Should I be concerned about possibly missing my connection to London? Will I have to pick up my baggages / clear customs in that time frame? Max.

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal. Your arrival into PHL will be like a domestic flight. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will likely arrive in Terminal F and depart from Terminal A, which are connected inside security by a shuttle bus.

Thank you a lot for your information ! I got AA to schedule my London flight to a later one, allowing me 2 hours and 30 minutes. Thanks for your help. Max

  • Flight from Minneapolis to Dublin via PHL

If I fly from Minneapolis to Dublin, with a one hour twenty minute layover in Philadelphia, will this be enough time to transfer without missing my second flight? Is it possible? Would it be very close - me running through the airport? I am a Spanish citizen - not sure how that would affect transfer time (if I need to pick up my bags or anything).

You don't have to do anything with your bags. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have plenty of time if your first flight is on-time.

We're flying US Air from Rochester NY to PHL with 14-hr overnight layover, leaving on Qatar Air for Doha the next morning. The trip was booked on one ticket. Do we have to claim our baggage in PHL and re-check on QA the next morning? We're staying at the airport Marriott.

As you booked on one ticket, your bags will automatically be transferred. Your departing Qatar flight is in Terminal A, Concourse A-West.

    Thanks!

  • Flight from Toronto to Dhaka via Philadelphia and Doha

Hi, I am going to Dhaka from Toronto. I will take US airways to get to Philadelphia. Then I will take Qatar airways. I have a Canadian passport. Do I need to clear immigration and collect my luggage to clear customs and recheck? I also need to go terminal C from terminal A. I have 2 hours to connect my flights. Is it enough? Thanks.

You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Toronto. You will not have to go through any checks or do anything with your baggage in Philadelphia. Terminals A and C are connected by a walkway. You should have plenty of time.

Hello, I would be travelling to Toronto with a stop over at Philadelphia airport. Would 1 hr and 22 mins be enough to make to my connecting flight to Toronto? Also would I have to clear USA customs? Thanks

I am from Nepal. I will arrive to PHL (terminal A) from Doha around 8 in morning. I've 2 hour layover. Then i need to catch another flight to denver from terminal B. Is two hour time is enough to go to custom, baggage claim, immigration, security checking? Will USairways allow me another flight incase if i miss the flight?

Yes, 2 hours should be enough time. And yes, if you miss your flight due to delays at Immigration or a delayed inbound flight, you will be rebooked on the next available flight to Denver.

My daughter is travelling to Doha from Montreal via Philadelphia. She arrives at Terminal F on Air Wisconsin and has to get to Terminal A for her Doha flight on Qatar Airways. She bought her ticket all together. Does she have to clear customs in Philadelphia or can she do that in Montreal? Will she have to claim her bags and recheck them in? If she has a french passport does she need and Esta if she is just transiting in the US?

She will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal. All she has to do in PHL is go from her arrival gate to her departure gate, which are connected by a shuttle bus inside security. Yes, she does have to complete ESTA from what I can tell.

    Thank you :)

I'm flying from Nashville TN to Binghamton NY with a connecting flight in Philidelphia I have a 59 min layover will this be enough time for me to catch the connecting flight?

Yes, that should be enough time. Your flight to Binghampton will likely leave from terminal F, which is connected to the other terminals by a shuttle bus inside security.

My flight from Miami will land in the B concourse at 10:14PM. I then have to catch a flight to Baltimore at 10:55PM. Do I have enough time? Do shuttles run as frequently that late at night?

Yes, the shuttles run any time there are flights. It should be enough time as long as your first flight is on-time.

Hi, I am landing in Philly from Boston (terminal b) and then connecingt to Halifax canada (terminal c). Is 35 min enough time?

Yes, that is very doable. All gates are connected inside security by walkways. However it obviously doesn't leave much time to spare in the case of delays.

Arriving from Budapest (via London) in PHL, then connecting to a Denver flight. Assuming I will have to go through customs in PHL then recheck bag (?). And how long do I need to get from Terminal A to E (I think it's E; it's a Southwest flight to Denver). Thanks for the input/info

If you're flying Southwest to Denver then you cannot drop your bag at the re-check desk after clearing customs. You will have to take it with you to Terminal E to the Southwest check-in counter. Southwest does not have Interline agreements with any other airlines. You need at least 2 hours for your transfer, preferably 2.5 hours.

  • Is it One Hour Enough to Go from Terminal B to Terminal F?
    Sep 24, 2014

I'll take a flight from SFO to Montreal w/ a stop at PHL. I have less than an hour to walk from Terminal B to Terminal F. Will my carry on need to be checked again? Will I have enough time to take the next flight?

You actually can't walk from Terminal B to Terminal F. Instead there is a shuttle that runs inside security. You have enough time. If your bag didn't fit in the overhead or under the seat on the way from Montreal it probably won't fit on the way back either.

Is it true Terminal F does not have a TSA Pre-Check? Are there any tips concerning getting through security more quickly?

Terminal F does not have security checkpoints at all. You access it via a shuttle bus from the other terminals.

  • Toronto to Kuala Lumpur via PHL

Hi, My stopover in PHL is 2h on the way to KL and 1h 36m on the way back to Toronto. I'd like to know if I would need to re-check my bags in PHL on the way to AND way back from KL? If so, is the transit time sufficient to do this? Thanks Kevin

You do not have to claim and re-check your bags on the way to Kuala Lumpur as you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. On the way back however, you will, assuming PHL is your entry point to the United States.

Thanks so much Zap. Is 1h 36mins sufficient to check out & re-check in at PHL on the way back to Toronto?
