I made a reservation to fly from San Juan Puerto Rico to Rome Italy There is a terminal change. Both flights are in AA. Do I have to exit and go though security again?
No, you do not have to go through security again. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Thanks Do you happen to know what is the usual terminals of AA from PR and to Rome? Could one of them be F ?
None of them will be in Terminal F. You will arrive in A, B, or C and depart from A.
Thanks again
Hello.....Can anyone confirm for me which PHL terminal is used for American Airlines flights to Bermuda?
They should leave from Terminal A but could also depart from B or C. All gates are connected inside security.
I'll be landing at terminal F, and departing from C a few hours later. Will I need to pick up my 2 bags and have them go through security again? Or will they automatically go to my next flight? What do I do?
If both flights are on the same reservation then you don't have to do anything with your bags in Philadelphia. Just go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Hi, I will arrive with two very large suitcases on my international flight at terminal A, then have to collect them for customs, and finally fly out of terminal F. Although I have 5 hrs layover, I'm worried as my suitcases are very heavy and I don't really want to carry them all the way to terminal F from A. My flights are all on the same reservation, so will it be possible to check my bags in earlier after customs? Thanks!
Yes, you can check your bags at the re-check desk right after you clear customs in Terminal A. Then you go through security and take the shuttle to Terminal F.
Thanks a lot for the information :)
I will be landing at terminal F and my connection is at terminal B.
There is only 45 minutes between each flight.
1) Is that enough?
2) Do I need to go through the security?
3) Should I take the shuttle or walk (run !!!) ?

Yes, it's enough time if the first flight is on time. No you don't have to go through security. You can do either - if you can run, I'd probably do that.
Thanks. Im about to do the same thing-- 2 days later. Outrageous that AA lets you book these two together!
Hi I'll fly from Cancun to PHI and have a layover of 1hr and 45mins before I go to Amsterdam. Both flights are american airlines and I arrive and depart at terminal A. I fly with handluggage only. Will I have enough time in PHI?
Yes, that should be enough time. You have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security and to your departure gate. Everything will be in Terminal A.
I am arriving at PHL on United/Lufthansa from Frankfort Germany at 4:00 PM. I need to be able to take an American flight out at 5:47 PM to return to Nashville. If I can't take that AA flight I will be stuck either staying over night or taking another round of more expensive connecting flights and getting home past midnight. Is there ANY way for me to have United/Lufthansa transfer my luggage to American? Or would it be possible to get thru Customs to pick up my bags and then recheck with AA and still make this flight?
I don't think that connection is realistically possible on two separate reservations with checked baggage.
I have a flight out of Pittsburgh that transfers in PHL before heading to Cancun. Do i have to claim my bags and go through security a second time? I only have 55 minutes between flights. Is this enough time?
All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is no US Customs when leaving the US.
Also you have enough time

I'm thinking of connecting thru PHL on a future trip from LHR to TPA, BA67 arriving terminal A to BA6916 Departing Terminal C (operated by AA). I'm buying seperate tickets to reduce the price, do I have to collect and recheck my checked bag, and can I do it all in 1 hour and 30 minutes? Thanks!
You will have to claim your bags regardless to go through US Customs, but since it's two separate reservations, it will take longer to re-check in PHL. I would only try this with no checked bags.
Yeah, thought i'd be pushing it, booked the direct flight from LGW instead! thanks!
Hi, What is the minimum time that checked in baggage can make it safely to a domestic connecting flight? (is there any difference if the connecting flight is domestic to international? Thank you!
Domestic to International is no difference. 30 minutes is doable, and I'd say an hour would be fairly risk-free.
