  • Is There a Drop-off point at Terminal "F"
    Dec 24, 2015
I'll be dropped-off and flying out of Terminal "F" in the morning, on AA. It doesn't appear that there is a drop-off point at Terminal "F". Will I have to be dropped off at Terminal "E" and walk to Terminal "F"?

    Yes, you will.

  • 35min connection christmas day!
    Dec 24, 2015
I will be arriving at terminal F from newark at 6:51 am and my flight to miami leaves from terminal C at 7:35 am... Really scared i will miss my flight is this doable ????? Wouldnt the gates close earlier ? Help!! Leaving tomorrow which is christmas day!!!

It is doable if your flight from Newark is on time. Flights almost never close early unless everyone is already boarded, despite what airlines say.

  • OK to leave PHL during a long layover
    Dec 23, 2015
Hi, we fly from Lax to PHL next Sat and then get a connecting flight (7hrs later) to Dublin. Is it possible to leave the airport in that time? GO out and come back through security for the Dublin flight? I'm presuming our bags will be checked through to Dublin, so we won't have those with us, but not sure. Tks!

Yes, you can leave the airport and go back through security if you bring your Dublin boarding pass with you.

Tks ZAP! That's great to know.

  • American Airlines from Fort Lauderdale -PHL to London connection
    Dec 23, 2015
Hello - just had a cancelled flight and BA has put on a connection with 80 minutes between Fort Lauderdale Amercian Airlines Flight and PHL to London BA flight. Does anyone know which terminals these flights come into and out of and if this is enough time? thanks

You will arrive in Terminal A, B or C and depart from Terminal A All you have to do in PHL is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

Many thanks for that - Happy Holidays!

  • RIC to PHL to PWM
    Dec 21, 2015
We have a flight the day after Christmas from RIC to PHL with the end destination of Portland,Maine. The layover is 59 mins. Is that enough time?

Yes, that should be enough time as long as the first flight is on-time. All gates at PHL are connected inside security.

  • Just curious
    Dec 20, 2015
I have flown through Philadelphia in the past, but this time I am going to be making a connection at 10 p.m. Does anyone know, do the terminal shuttles run that late at night? I really don't want to try to get from Terminal F to Terminal A and go back through security that late at night.

Yes, the shuttles operate until the last flight has arrived or departed from Terminal F.

  • Connection from Terminal F to A

Hi, My AA flight from PVD and arrived PHL terminal F at 7:00am , I have 55 minutes to catch my connection flight at 7:55am in Terminal A,should I have enough time ? Thanks

Yes, that should be enough time. American operates a shuttle inside security from F to A.

  • Flight to Dublin
    Dec 18, 2015
Hi we are flying from Washington, DCA at 6:42 arriving in Philly at 7:45 in Terminal F. We are leaving next week. Our Flight to Dublin will then leave at 9:10, leaving us approximately 1h15. Will that be enough time so close to the Holidays?

Yes, that should be enough time. All you have to do in PHL is take a shuttle bus from Terminal F to Terminal A inside security. There is nothing that will slow you down in PHL.

  • Question
    Dec 18, 2015
Hello, I am flying into Philidelphia airport on a connection flight. I arrive into gate F and have an hour to get to gate A for my next flight. Do i need to go through security again or can i just take the shuttle bus staright to gate A?

I do this a few times a year. I land at F at 6:30 and have an hour to get to the main terminals. Look for signs for the shuttle to main terminals (on the way back shuttles to F) - or ask somebody at the gate when you land. You don't have to go back through security but lines for the shuttle can build up. It's a hustle but I've never missed my flight.

  • 44 min changed by AA
    Dec 18, 2015
Hi- family of 5, have 44 minutes between flights due to AA changing it on us. Coming in terminal A depart Terminal B to ST Thomas. You say there is a shuttle, can you be more specific about getting that? Or can we walk fast between those two terminals? Kids are teens, so easy to move. Would the airline staff expedite our party if first plane is late, considering they are the ones that changed the time? We even bought seats close to the front of plane so we could get off faster. Stressful way to begin a holiday to St Thomas.

You don't have to take a shuttle to get from A to B, just walk/run. There's no way that staff can "expedite" your group as all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If your flight is on-time you have enough time.

Thanks. Hope we leave on time. Wearing our sneakers for a little jog between flights.

  • Flight AA751 from BRU to PHL with connected flight AA1705 To Tampa
    Dec 14, 2015
Hello, my brother, who doesn't speak English, will arrive on 121/19 from Brussels with flight AA751 at 1:40PM. He will then have to take the 3:50PM connected flight AA1705 to Tampa. I believe he will arrive at International Terminal A, will have to go through Immigration, then collect his luggage, go through Customs, then go to the terminal where is connecting flight will leave, re-check his luggage, and then go through security before going to the departing gate. As he does not speak English, I would appreciate if someone could give me a walk-through of the different steps he will have to go through (including the Terminal for his departing flight) with as much detail as possible in regards to the directions/signs he will have to follow so I can translate them for him. Thank you in advance for your help.

You have the procedure correct. He will depart from Terminal A, B, or C. They are all directly connected to each other both inside and outside security. The re-check desk is right after Customs.

Thank you for confirming the major steps. However, I was hoping to read a more detailed procedure including the signs/directions to go from one step to the next and how to get to the terminal he will depart from. Keep in mind that he does speak English and only speaks French which will make hard for him to ask for directions/help and does not much layover. I will translate all the details I can get except of course the sings he will have to follow. Thank you

I'm sorry, I haven't been through US Immigration at Philadelphia so I can't provide any specific experience. However, the process is not difficult. despite its somewhat imposing layout PHL is not much bigger than BRU and all gates are connected inside security, so once he re-checks his bags, he can't screw up "where" to go through security as all checkpoints will allow him to get to his departure gate.

  • Help please!
    Dec 9, 2015
Hello, I am traveling to Newark from London Heathrow via Philadephia on Tuesday and I have over 3 hours connection time so I am not worried about that. What I am worried about is my flight home! On Sunday 20th December I will be flying home from Newark via Philly again. This time I only have 75 minutes. My question is, because I have checked my bags at Newark in America and I am connecting in Philly which is in America to go to London - will I need to collect my bags and go through security again or can I simply just head to my next terminal!? So confused and I don't wanna spend my full holiday worrying about my journey home :-(! Any response would be brill! Thankyou! Cathy

On your way back to London you don't have to do anything with your bags or go through security in Philadelphia. There is no US Customs when leaving the US. You just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Really!? So it will definitely all get checked through to London at Newark? Literally all I have to do is go from my arrival terminal to my departure terminal? You've put my mind at rest so much Thankyou!! So 75mins will be enough to go from one terminal to another? Thanks again!!

Yes, that's all you have to do in PHL. Yes, you have enough time.

  • MAN to PHL to YYZ
    Dec 8, 2015
Hi We will be flying from Manchester, UK to Toronto, Canada via Philadelphia. We arrive into Philadelphia at 1.50 PM and depart at 3.42pm. Total layover is 1 hr 52 mins. I believe we will arrive at terminal A and depart from terminal F, I understand this will require a shuttle bus? Also will we be required to clear USA immigration, collect the bag then re-check it? And ultimately is the layover time enough? Thanks in advance. Andrew

Yes, you will arrive in Terminal A, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and (likely) take the shuttle bus to Terminal F (some Toronto flights now depart from B or C, which doesn't require the shuttle bus). You should barely have enough time.

  • Enough time on American for connecting flight?
    Dec 7, 2015
Flying American from lga connecting to flight to Aruba. We have 43 minutes from 1 flight to another. Is this enough time?

It is enough time if the first flight is on-time but leaves no time to spare. You may have to take a shuttle bus from Terminal F to your departure gate in Terminal A.

Ugh. Why does AA find the need to add drama. They have changed our flight times twice already. Ironically, flight is leaving earlier and getting in later. Thanks for the reply though. Hoping the flirst leg leaving at 5:59 is in eventful.....

  • Connecting flights...terminal change
    Dec 4, 2015
Will be traveling from houston bush international to Long Island islip. How do I get from one terminal to the much time do I need between connections.

American runs a shuttle bus inside security from the other terminal to Terminal F where your flight to Islip will depart. 45 minutes would be about the minimum with for this connection, with 1 hour preferable.
